I wish u tube wasnt gay now a days and let people post the full movies like they use too! i saw this movie when it was new as a kid!! love it! when movies were great! everything today is shit!

Seriously!!!!! I WAS RUDY!!! lol that one scene where Bill Murray character finds Rudy at the Greyhound station --- THAT I CAN RELATE TOO!! lol

I finally got round to watch this Bill Murry Film. I had no idea Bill actually exercised?! Actually pretty good. Could of been bit more wacky. I see smiler resembles to caddy shack here by writer Ramis.
This is a well done scene. Bill's perfect, and the moment the MEATBALLS title displays over the lake with the bagpipes playing (instead of O Canada), you can only think, "This movie's going to be a riot."
a bunch of kids singing 'and a whole lot of foolin around' without someone being like 'omg pedo!' = the pre-(american)90s un-pc world. If you wanted to know ya cunts ;p
@emarr71 It is a Canadian film from 1979. I wouldn't expect any black or hispanic castmembers or extras. Similarly, I don't expect to see any black castmembers or extras when I watch WWII mini-series such as Band of Brothers.
This movie brings back all the great times before pc, cellphones, ipods blackberries etc.If only our youngsters could have the opportunities to live in such an exsistance.
The sequel was intentionally named Meatballs as a Bait-and-Switch tactic for audiences. They were only fooled the first day, and then it and the rest of the sequels went to hell.
Camp North Star Kids Chorus is credited with ARE YOU READY FOR THE SUMMER. Other original songs in the film: MAKIN' IT by David "An American Werewolf in London" Naughton, "Good Friend" by Mary "Torn Between Two Lovers" MacGregor, and MEATBALLS by Rick "Disco Duck" Dees.
@eaodak - agree with AIDS and crack, but as a kid I didn't enjoy waiting in line for gas on odd/even days. I don't know why people have to get political - this is just a movie (and it's before bikini waxing too, as a reminder....oops, there goes your innocence again...)
Reagan was a assclown. He started a war on people's freedom that cost over 70 billion dollars a year trying to accomplish something that is impossible to accomplish, or even put a dent in.

This was most certainly not filmed in Muskoka but indeed in Haliburton at Camp White Pine. I have been there too and seen all the buildings..Another Canadian classic...
Thanks Clay...I wish I could go there. I live in east coast US, NJ, and it would be a long trip. You are lucky to live close. If I can make time, sometime, perhaps I'll go for it. Make a trip visiting Canada and tour.
That would be great if you could make it. I once drove all the way to Squam Lake, New Hampshire so I could see the filming spots from On Golden Pond. So I know what its like.
Bill Murray is iconic! After this movie came out, a whole lot of imitations try to be "the camp movie", but "Meatballs" remain the original and the best, barr none! This movie is my all time fav!

it's not just you. they were hotter. or maybe it's our age plus what girls were wearing when we first started 'noticing' them. maybe it was the bra-lessness. or maybe it's just cindy girling!
@chris69aer I don't think the girls were hotter back than, but I do think the tits of girls back then were much better. Although, when you come from the 70's and 80's, it's hard not to feel biased based on the hair styles then. I think chics were more approachable then. You didn't have this fight about independence, as much...which I'm all for...equality, but damn...it's like there is this silent war between men and women. Makes it very difficult.
Interesting tidbit...in an interview awhile back, Dave Grohl said whenever he thinks of summer, he thinks of the Meatballs theme ("Are you ready for the summer?!")
