  • the ones who disliked this didnt get any meatballs!

  • I wish u tube wasnt gay now a days and let people post the full movies like they use too! i saw this movie when it was new as a kid!! love it! when movies were great! everything today is shit!

  • As dumb of a movie this was --- this will ALLWAYS be my personal favorite comedy. I can relate to the Chris Makepeace Rudy Gudner!!! I'm sure we all were that misfit picked on kid from camp!! Seriously!!!!! I WAS RUDY!!! lol that one scene where Bill Murray character finds Rudy at the Greyhound station --- THAT I CAN RELATE TOO!! lol

  • @ojmccaf63 Youre a big dummie! lol this movie is a great classic!! you must not had friends as a kid too not like this! lmao!

  • @TheITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ NOOOO!!! i'M NOT a BIG Dummy!! YOU must have misunderstood my post --- as *dumb* of a plot it was about a sumer camp I could relate to one of the characters Rudy Gudner, and YES I did NOT have alot friends back when I was a kid at camp so I can relate and I love Meatballs :) lmao!!! lol

  • Where is the rest of this movie!

  • Best Movie Ever, especially if you work at a summer camp!

  • Oh, to live in those simple times again...

  • I finally got round to watch this Bill Murry Film. I had no idea Bill actually exercised?! Actually pretty good. Could of been bit more wacky. I see smiler resembles to caddy shack here by writer Ramis.

  • This is a well done scene. Bill's perfect, and the moment the MEATBALLS title displays over the lake with the bagpipes playing (instead of O Canada), you can only think, "This movie's going to be a riot."

  • Heehee, I used to play this every summer until I graduated high school...then I had no summers off. XD

  • Thanks a lot for remind me my childhood, The song and the film are unpayable. Great!

  • This movie is BOSS!

If you haven't seen it, it's because you aren't cool, and nobody liked you enough to rent it for you

  • Man, I'm SO glad that the whole "short shorts" trend for women is back. Or has been for a couple of years now. :-)

  • @samsamba08

Let's be happy the short-shorts trend for men aren't back too, :P

  • a bunch of kids singing 'and a whole lot of foolin around' without someone being like 'omg pedo!' = the pre-(american)90s un-pc world. If you wanted to know ya cunts ;p

  • can anyone spot a black or hispanic castmember or extra in this movie?

  • @emarr71 It is a Canadian film from 1979. I wouldn't expect any black or hispanic castmembers or extras. Similarly, I don't expect to see any black castmembers or extras when I watch WWII mini-series such as Band of Brothers.

  • bill murray logged in 3 times and disliked this just to fuck with us all!

  • This movie brings back all the great times before pc, cellphones, ipods blackberries etc.If only our youngsters could have the opportunities to live in such an exsistance.

  • One of the best and most memorable openings of a movie ever! I found this and other great bits about the film on a webite called Meatballsonline.

  • i do not remember, were there any nigs in this?

  • Comment removed

  • @dewaynecullen

    ya motha

  • @Dablkwid0w2008 nope - my momma wasn't in this either. But she did fuck Bill Murray in '79 :)

  • @PullMyPeeper

    No but ya momma was

  • is there any full version of this?

  • i want this Movie on Blue-Ray and Bose HomeTheater System... :) i love old school movies!!!

  • great movie, just act like the sequels never existed and youre all set.

  • BILL fuking MURRAY!!!!

  • im 34, god how i wish I was a kid again, free of bills and just having fun

  • that music should be my theme

  • i sing this on the last day of school it annoys the hell out of ppl

  • LOVE that films! The perfect summer film!

  • Not only were they hotter everything was real!!!!

  • Ivan Reitman should write another movie with Bill Murray and Robin Williams in mind.

  • LOL the begnning totally reminds me of Back to the Future the way the steady cam follows his hand on the dials .....

  • WOW, guys actually appear to work fixing things in those days? Long missed are those days, where being usefully hansome meant something!

  • WTF... Harvey Atkin from "Sam & Max," "Mario," and "The Ripping Friends," is in this movie?! I did not know that.

  • I hate camp movies where people don't get killed.

  • I'M READY FOR THE FUCKING SUMMER!

  • i misss these old school shit that and porkys, victor pigpen is the shit.

  • This movie is a Classic...PERIOD...

    Bill Murray is super...

  • :D love this movie haha

  • can we post the whole movie?

  • Bill's hair is out of control

  • Yes, I am ready for the summer.

  • Mohawk Jerks!!

  • Names Morty not Micky

  • 3:33 is what summer in the 1970s was all about!

  • I'm here every morning to make your summer camp experience the best possible - in this price range... LOL

  • Loved this one and part 2 was ok

  • Love this movie..going to upload a clip myself soon..It just doesn't matter!

  • Just a fun movie. Bill Murray at his best. The sequel was lame. Shouldn't have been made.

  • your right..this was when movies had a good storyline and took 5 dollars to make. the sequel did suck.

  • The sequel was intentionally named Meatballs as a Bait-and-Switch tactic for audiences. They were only fooled the first day, and then it and the rest of the sequels went to hell.

  • whos the artist of the song named like are you reday for the summer?

  • Camp North Star Kids Chorus is credited with ARE YOU READY FOR THE SUMMER. Other original songs in the film: MAKIN' IT by David "An American Werewolf in London" Naughton, "Good Friend" by Mary "Torn Between Two Lovers" MacGregor, and MEATBALLS by Rick "Disco Duck" Dees.

  • I loved Meatballs 1 and 2....loved the Meathead story in 2 but i wonder why they didn't bring back Bill "Tripper" Murray and Chris Makepeace lol

  • ONE FOLD SLEVEY, TWO FOLD SLEVEY!

  • This song should get played every Memorial Day every hour on the hour lol

    especially for teachers lol

  • Oh, and I had the same plastic space helmet as a kid....

  • Actually, it's an America without Aids, crack, or Reaganomics... Wow, what a lost innocence.

  • @eaodak - agree with AIDS and crack, but as a kid I didn't enjoy waiting in line for gas on odd/even days. I don't know why people have to get political - this is just a movie (and it's before bikini waxing too, as a reminder....oops, there goes your innocence again...)

  • @eaodak Oh yes. The Democrats are doing so much better these days. Just tell a lie long enough, and it becomes the truth.

  • @itsowlornothing What does one have to do with the other? Reagan's time saw the death of America's innocence. That's all.

  • @eaodak

Reagan was a assclown. He started a war on people's freedom that cost over 70 billion dollars a year trying to accomplish something that is impossible to accomplish, or even put a dent in.

Fuck Reagan, his propaganda, his traditional doctrines, and everything else he stood for.

  • @EgoDead5 You're bashing Reagan when you have Obama in office now? LOL

Look at what's going on, you would be lucky to have Reagan now.

  • @EgoDead5 man SHUT THE FUCK UP BITCH! people like you gotta ruin everyone's video and everyone's day with your political bullshit. LET US ENJOY THE VIDEO AND KEEP YOUR FUCKING OPINION TO YOURSELF YOU CUNT MOTHERFUCKER

  • @eaodak Yeah it's an America with gonnrhea, heroin and jimbo carter, total nightmare.

  • @eaodak yea but it was america with hippies and alot of coke not much of a diffrence

  • Funniest most On the mark movie when i was a kid...Star wars era and a little Chariots of Fire thrown in...great era

  • all you guys are obssesed with meatBALLS

  • Went to camp here in 1985. Actually swam across the lake from the one camp to the other. Jumped into the lake from that same yellow dock.

  • omg! a record player! lol. and a 45! god i'm old.

  • Our channel sensors never imported this to Finland. It is not part of our all-American TV up-bringing

  • Don't be a kill-joy Doggy! This is what I miss now that my kids are grown. I used to meet them at school and we would throw the pencils and books in the air and sing the Meatballs song.

  • Anyone else not miss the shrill children's choruses of the 70's?

  • I have this on VHS

  • Where is the whole movie?

  • its the same people that do smater than a5th grader

  • Does anybody know where I can get this song?? I love it!

  • "I'm Jerry Aldini"...i still use that fake name when ordering pizza.

  • this movie is epic. i watched it just now on tv! love every second and its a true classic. this makes me want to go to camp.

  • Where is the rest of this movie?

  • This was most certainly not filmed in Muskoka but indeed in Haliburton at Camp White Pine. I have been there too and seen all the buildings..Another Canadian classic...

  • I was wondering, are some of the original buildings still there? I remember seeing this when I was a kid and makes me feel like a kid. Great film.

  • Would you believe every single one of the original buildings are still there. Go this summer!!!!

  • Thanks Clay...I wish I could go there. I live in east coast US, NJ, and it would be a long trip. You are lucky to live close. If I can make time, sometime, perhaps I'll go for it. Make a trip visiting Canada and tour.

  • That would be great if you could make it. I once drove all the way to Squam Lake, New Hampshire so I could see the filming spots from On Golden Pond. So I know what its like.

  • "...hoping to make YOUR summer camp experience the BEST available!...(in this price range)" Classic.

  • In the Animal House Category. SNL was Zen then and this movie Delivered fully. Top Ten best comedy ever!

  • still a funny movie

  • yes it is!

  • Was this really filmed in Muskoka? The website Meatballsonline states that it was filmed at Camp White Pine in Haliburton Ontario?

  • Perfect movie to watch before slaughtering my cattle.

  • Bill Murray is iconic! After this movie came out, a whole lot of imitations try to be "the camp movie", but "Meatballs" remain the original and the best, barr none! This movie is my all time fav!

BTW, My CIT and CSP nickname is "Tripper"!

    YEAH!

  • Ever since the movie was re-released on DVD, I'm STILL waiting for the soundtrack to be released to CD. There's one song that I NEED and that's "Makin' It (extended version)" by David Naughton. I haven't heard that version since 2001. Keep me in touch when anybody has news concering the soundtrack.

  • Are you ready for the summer? Are you ready for the sunshine?

  • Can't believe it has been almost 30 years.

  • Sweet. Can someone upload the whole movie?

  • that songs great. haha

  • Can you post the rest? That would be awesome...i don't see it anywhere else.

  • just watched it yesterday for the 1st time. & i love it.i love the 70's feel of it

  • Made in Muskoka, Ontario in the heart of cottage country. Great movie.

  • perfect movie to watch b4 you go camping. i cant wait to go camping!

  • I still to this day laugh my ass OFF when he wrestles with Roxanne and when Morty comes in he pretends she was attacking him. Classic movie, glad to own it...will NEVER get old.

  • this is the best movie ever who doesnt like meatballs

  • Rudy Gurber is a little wimp!

  • AIGHT MY SUMMER HAS STARTED...TY 4 POSTING THIS!

(wearing a newspaper sailor hat and her Camp YouTube shirt)

    R U READY 4 THE SUMMER!!!

    R U FOR THE PORK N BEANS!!!

    THE APPLE TREES!!!

AND A WHOLE LOTTA FOOLIN' AROUND!!!!

  • TV Land needs to get the rights to this classic and put it on a tape loop for a week so I can get my jones. Hell put it on Bravo.

  • This is classic 80's cinema. Judd Apatow and Seth Rogan are trying there best to replicate it but ( in my opinion ) to no avail. This generation is about video games and celebrity culture. The 80's teen movie genre will never happen again. Cable played a huge part in this. We actually had MTV. Music videos. Now its just a reality TV station.

I'm sorry. I'm an "old Gen X'er" who is venting. Thank God for YouTube so I can get my fix.

  • Try 1979

  • This film(released 1979,filmed in 1978) and the culture it represents is Very 70's.

  • And now, please rise for the playing of our national anthem, Scotland, the Brave. Remember, it's ALL THE GRUEL YOU CAN EAT!!!

  • i own this movie

  • OHHH AHH, I'm you head counselor...

THAT IS PRICELESS!!! I swear that i have ssen this movie 2,000 times!

  • I got ya beat at 4000 times :)

  • I would like to add a request for someone to post the two scenes - the 'It doesn't matter' motivation scene, and the final scene when Morty is stuck on a raft while the final credits are scrolling up. Those were funny as well!

  • that's strange! i was going to say the "it just doesn't matter" scene is on YouTube because i once copied it onto my MySpace page, but i just looked & it IS gone! :( Boo Hoo!

  • best line..."The winner of today`s 'Guess what was for lunch' correctly guessed--some kind of meat. And there is also a very fat pair of pants hanging from the flagpole this morning!"

  • "All junior girls are now junior boys...and all lobsters, GET OUTTA HERE! You're a MENACE!"

  • Spaz Spaz Spaz Spaz.....

  • ARE READY FOR THE SUMMER? lalala

  • Bill Murray has made some classics like Meatballs, Stripes, Caddyshack and What about Bob.

  • someone needs to post this movie a summer classic. please

  • What a creative opening scene!

  • is there the part where they sing like the north star C.I.T song anywhere on here?

  • Look for "Meatballs Final Campfire" posted by VomisaCassi...

  • Have not seen this in AGES! Do kids even go to camp anymore?

  • "And, uh, don't forget to ask for seconds 'cause, it's ALL the gruel you can eat!"

  • Is it just me, or did girls seem hotter back then?

  • it's not just you. they were hotter. or maybe it's our age plus what girls were wearing when we first started 'noticing' them. maybe it was the bra-lessness. or maybe it's just cindy girling!

  • @OogieSCOD Not only were they hotter everything was real!!!!

  • @chris69aer :) it's not just the girls, trust me--although Kristine DeBell certainly doesn't hurt. Alice in Wonderland, anyone?

  • @chris69aer I don't think the girls were hotter back than, but I do think the tits of girls back then were much better. Although, when you come from the 70's and 80's, it's hard not to feel biased based on the hair styles then. I think chics were more approachable then. You didn't have this fight about independence, as much...which I'm all for...equality, but damn...it's like there is this silent war between men and women. Makes it very difficult.

  • @chris69aer yes!

  • AHHHH AHHHHH I'm your head counselor.....Good Stuff LOL

  • OMG OGMOGMGOMGOGMGO. THIS IS MY CAMP.

  • When the hand goes up the mouth goes shut

  • BTW:Got the closing cedits of "Meatballs",you know where "Morty's" bed was in the middle of the lake?I love to see it again!

  • This was the BEST of the four "Meatballs" movies. The other three never came close to being this good!

  • The first of any movie series is usually best, especially in comedies.

  • I love this movie. I just saw it about 5 days ago!! It was freakin' awsome!

  • I have been going to the camp where this movie was filmed for the past 10 years

  • spazz spazz spazz

  • "HI MIKEY!!" "My name is Morty, not MICKEY".

  • I just saw this movie for the first time about 2 weeks ago; not bad.

  • my dad and whole family we have to watch this movie EVery summer its a tradition and awesome

  • Remember when cable was new? This was on every summer it ruled! At school we would quote every thing Bill would say!

  • i am mother time so no i donnot remeber that

  • WOW, THE MEMORIES! I was only 5 but I loved this movie.

  • >>>>Magic>>> utter Classic- ru ready for summer?? I am Bill Murray is Cool Mofo

  • Thank you for posting this. It is one of my favorite movies of all time!

  • i love you, and you love me, and you love you, and i love me, so let's walla walla, down by the mango tree...it's absolute poetry.

  • where is the sound

  • More specifically, Grohl said that it's basically his soundtrack for the summer...

  • Interesting tidbit...in an interview awhile back, Dave Grohl said whenever he thinks of summer, he thinks of the Meatballs theme ("Are you ready for the summer?!")

  • Any chance you can post the "CIT song"?

  • remember watching this movie , back when i was in school and it usually would be on right before summer vacation began and it would always get siked for the summer

  • Magic.. he is sexya n cute here an 31....Toke out!!

  • Omg, Lol! I forgot about this movie.. it's so weird... The second one to, I saw em when I was like 2 years old :P

  • I have been looking for this movie for a long time. Do you think you could post more clips? PLEASE! I'd really appreciate it lots! :) Thanks for the awesome clip to the best summer movie of my life!

  • Sure! I posted this one because someone else had asked for it specifically, so you're the second person wanting to see more Meatballs. Be careful though, that song can easily get stuck in your head for days!

  • Yeah, I've been singing this song for years. My kids even know it! :) Spaz Rules!

  • I'm ready for the summer... are you?
