  • one question...when did angels get japanese swords?

  • I think Christ would applaud this. What you people think that Jesus can't use someone else's music to get people to sit up and Notice Him?? They were DANCING UNTO THE LORD and Making a JOYOUS Noise!

God is not so narrow minded and closed minded and so small that HE can't use whatever HE wants to get HIS story out there! God created Music and Laughter and Noise. STOP thinking for God and stop condemning others. You aren't God. I'm pretty sure that God was smiling down on this. :)

  • Seems like people are running out of things to "entertain" themselves with in church . What spritual or educational worth was this? What a joke we have become as Christians. You go to church and It's Show Time. This little "skit" made about as much sense as a Death Metal Band playing Amazing Grace. You can't understand it, and it doesn't make much sense. How about, instead of trying to entice kids into a show church, just let them sit in church and play with their iPhones. What a joke.

  • I wonder if Jesus would think this is awesome...

  • Jesus is crying in the North Pole right now

  • lol! what a great idea, diffrent grabbed the kids attension and held it well done! They will be talking about it for years.

  • One night stand? Not quite, you hear the "Only me and you" and not the "on the dance floor" part.

  • Look at the faces of the kids in the audience. Seeing bored teenage boys change to engaged and interested at church - what a very good thing. We are loosing our children because they do not feel the joy of loving God. This was a joyful thing and a good thing. Wonderful.

  • I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!! - THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! - Stacey A

    see you guys soon

ladies - loved your faces & moves... lars - nice back jumps & austin great sword dancing!!1 :o) hilarious!

  • @holycwap

The song is about a Guy taking a girl to a DANCE. Please read the words before you start speaking.

  • Great! Loved it! Jesus likes to smile and laugh too! :)

  • alls i got 2 do is laugh

  • if this is christian keep it

  • you like this? stop pretending to be christian and join the real world

  • I loved it.. Great stuff, we can have fun in the Lord. I will one day dance with my Lord in Heaven & so will you, whom ever makes it there..

  • This is amazing! My pastor thought it was so awsome that we will be doing this at our church this Sunday! Hopefully we can do at least half as good as this. God Bless

  • Beauty!

  • Jesus always thought outside the box; the box being what was considered "appropriate" and that which had become stale. I mean, if they used "Touch My Body" by Mariah Carey obviously that would have been inappropriate but the song they used corresponded with the dance/skit.

I loved it. The three girl angels had some great dance moves, and it reminded me that heaven will be a mix of all kinds of peoples and musics and thoughts and personalities.

  • luv my church

  • Excelente....me parece una bella propuesta para los niños de mi Parroquia en Perú...bendiciones y Feliz Navidad!

  • under what name can i find krista and charlie (cheeky monkeys) in the movie called nativity? i cant find em anywhere o.O

  • please, what song is this?

  • why did someone mark this as spam? it's not... it's the answer to the question someone asked... idiots.

  • In answer to your question Unamsg82, the title of the song is Forever and it's by Chris Brown. :)

  • The church and the leaders have been called to the Oval Office.

  • what?

  • this is my church! funniest thing that has ever happened to me!! :D

  • that was totally and completely the best thing i have seen in a while!

  • Love this!!

  • ahhhhhhhh i love my church!!!!!! and my youth leaders!!!!

  • Amanda there are just no words to describe how awesome you are in this video. You've been holding out on us with all these hidden away dance moves. lol.

  • God speaks in many ways. I'm not one for liturgical dance... but you use what you can for the audience you have.

  • I don't get why there is a ninja sword, but the whole thing is genius!

  • This video is awesome, I especially love the ninja sword wielding angel.

  • lol all white people

  • i find it awesome it was to a chris brown song

  • That was AMAZING. made my day.

  • So was Jesus.

  • Jesus treated the sacred things as objects of humor?

  • Jesus would really care about people having fun whilst also thinking about him? Really? No, I would hope that Jesus wouldn't be quite so stuck-up as that. Shame that some of his followers are.

  • For something to be be sacrilegious it must be guilty of sacrilege, this does not violate holiness because I'm pretty sure the minister was using the song as a way to connect with the youth, not to take away from the message. Don't use words when you don't know what they mean. With the whole internet at your disposal ignorance is inexcusable.

  • hah woww. i would laugh if those were the teachers

  • An apostate "church" partaking in blasphemy. Repent.

  • wrong.

  • Those kids were like WTF. That was awesome.

  • What a range of emotions this video put me through. I found it cheesy and oddly affecting, but it also made me very concerned about shaken baby syndrome.

  • some one made the video too. they filmed this 1 then uploaded it onto another channel............LOVE THIS ONE BETTER!

  • u did a great job jon luv u and support everything u do

    lexi

  • THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!! Plain and simple! Great job!

  • I just found the song lyrics to the song. I don't see how this could be very inappropriate as there is nothing that I could see that was wrong with the song. Ecstasy can have many different meanings. The lyrics talk about dancing. Also, God can use anyone or anything He likes to get the message across to anyone. Including someone that may not be a Christian. I have no idea if Chris Brown is or not, but that is between him and God. Good job kids and Thank you for sharing.

  • Chris Brown just got taken to court for verbally and physically abusing his then-girlfriend Rihanna (also a popular music artist) in public. That's why the anti-Chris Brown person didn't like it. However, the likelihood that Chris Brown actually WROTE it, or even meant anymore than rhyming lyrics is slim, therefore, if it works for this context, rock on.

  • I have to say that this is incredibly different then any skit I have seen and I absolutely love this. I do have a question about the song however. Could you please provide me with the name of the song and who sang it? I read that someone claimed it was a very inappropriate song for the skit. All I hear out of it is dancing and the guy not letting the girl fall.

Great job on Portraying Christ's Birth. Different but I liked it. God bless.

  • I loved this so much even though I came in late...hehe. I've been showing all my friends acting so proud that this is from my church, and I'll say "I love my church SOOO much." Their response? "Pssht! My church is cool too!"

  • I'm the first to turn around!!! haha and I screamed go Amanda. hoped you heard it Amanda :):)

  • y'all are so great!!! haha oh me in the corner... and my dad dancing... FAIL. I'm glad y'all did this for 5 minutes. It was fun! and great lesson afterwards Jon! this was meant just for fun. haha and I love it!

  • Great idea, but who the hell decided on this song? I had to mute it, I cant stand people with no talent moaning into the mic.

  • @Iroquois14 clearly you don't know what they are spoofing.

  • Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100
  • wow.... and they just happened to use a chris brown song. not a good idea.

  • Have you seen the JK Wedding Entrance Dance? It was a tribute/spoof of that...YouTube it and you'll get it...

  • I love that everyone who has volunteered/worked in Youth Ministry "get" this video...it makes me sad for those who don't understand that you CAN have "fun" in church, and it can be just one of many ways that youth leaders reach kids in our fast-paced, texting, ipod wearing, You-Tube viewing generation by doing something interesting to grab their attention. This was an opening skit that preceded a lesson, yes, actually from the Bible. Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday Jesus...now let's celebrate!

  • it's not that i "don't get it". i do, but the fact that a chris brown song was used, i don't like. no worries though, they looked like they were having alot of fun. ^_^

  • They were spoofing another youtube video which was so popular that it got spoofed by The Office. If they had used a different song it would have defeated the purpose.

  • So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

  • There is no contemporaneous historical evidence for a historical jesus, not from josephus, tacitus, pilny the younger, or any other source. This doesn't prove he didn't exist, it just proves that believing he was a real person is nothing more than wishful thinking.

Apologists, Your religion demands faith, not evidence, so why continue to pretend there is some sort of evidence to validate your beliefs? If you truly believe you have evidence (a delusional belief) then you are not using faith.

  • @FoxifiedNutjob Well I am not going to try to take up to much space, but I just want to give some resources challenging your opinion.. Here is what some contemporaries of Jesus wrote.

Tacitus: A Roman historian (55-120 AD)

"Nero fastened the guilt and inflicte...on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilate." (Tacitus 15:44)

  • @FoxifiedNutjob

Josephus (1st Centruary) "At this time there was a wise man who was called Jesus. And his conduct was good and [he] was known to be virtuous. And many people from among the Jews....became his disciples" (Antiguituies, 18:3 from the Arabic text from the article "New Evidence on the Life of Jesus" in The New York Times. February 12, 1972; pp. 1,24

The Talmud (rabbinical commentary on the Torah) "On the eve of Passover Yeshua was hanged.." (The Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin, 43a)

  • @FoxifiedNutjob

I simply write this to you to show that there are indeed historical accounts of Jesus. I realize that you have stated that two of the historians i mentioned "did not" claim Jesus existence. I hope by me sighting their writings and where it can be found brings more support.

I appreciate you having strong intellectual convictions because I do as well. However, I have reasons to believe that Christianity as a worldview is intellectually defensible.

  • Foxified, you just got intellectually owned. Your comment had absolutely no historical evidence and obviously was pulled from your own behind.

  • But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.- Matthew 1:20-21

  • I'm all for a missional approach to ministry and I am all for creativity in translating the gospel to different audiences, however, this at its core is high school and college type humor. These kids don't have the reference yet of the viral youtube video or The Office's spoof of it. While this may have been amusing and fun for the workers this doesn't speak to kids of this age and is therefor a FAIL.

There could be other concerns raised about blurring the boundaries of the sacred too but....

  • thats stupidim gothere and am on utube every day

  • Crosby, I want to say sorry if I offended you. I wasn't meaning to pick on you or your church.

Can you help me out though? What was the age group for the Christmas play / program in the video?

  • Merry Christmas!!! The audience was 5th to 12th grade. This was 5 minutes out of a 60 minute youth program on Sunday morning focused on the "Presence" of Christ. While the skit is theologically and historically imperfect, and the music was not by any stretch sacred, the video has allowed over 10,000 people to think about the Joy of Christ coming to the world for a few minutes, and it's a great opportunity for us to spread that good news using this video as a conversation starter.

  • yeah... the more I think about it, I was being a grump. Thanks for helping me get a better perspective! (I tend to be a grinch in most cases...) I showed it to some friends later and we found it pretty funny and clever.

  • Awesome - great work guys!

  • Great work. The gospel is translatable beyond any cultural norm, and it stand its own in a hip hop world. If we are to reach the world with the gospel message we must throw off the stigmas of Western normativity and realize that the message is incarnational, and that all cultures are equally qualified to serve as a witness to the birth of a savior.

  • 1. is your youtube name a reference to "Things to do in Denver when your dead?"

    2. Do I know you? (can't tell by your profile, but your answer makes me think I might.)

  • 1. Yes, "Things to do in Denver when you are dead" is a classic and my youtube name is a reference to Jimmy The Saint.

    2. You might know me, I am a "pretty big deal". LOL. My guess is you are at rocking with Guder.

  • hello people.

if you listen to the song with a christian view point, it really makes sense. we have all been waiting for this night, the night Jesus was born to save us.how are yall not getting this? it says to trust him, he wont let you fall, to follow him...thats pretty much what Jesus wanted us to do. just look up the lyrics and it makes sense and i totally get the message and i love being Presbyterian and would have been apart of this. love.

  • and "Look what I can do with my feet" is like when he walked on water

    right? right? eh?

  • What joy! We don't always have to sing "Let all mortal flesh keep silent."

  • Good news...great JOY!

This makes me proud to be Presbyterian!

  • I was there. There was a lesson right afterwards. we just do something fun every week and this was the fun activity we did on Sunday.

  • Welcome to the apostate American Church. We deserve whatever wrath God brings.

  • I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

  • im in it go me

  • This is awesome! Very FUN!

  • This is so, so out of touch with what's cool.

  • What is the message this gets across? It's possible that aggressively dumbing things down won't, in the end, be remembered positively...

  • @grudzielanek seriously? lighten up. they're just having some fun.

  • I guess I just wonder what they're getting across. I was sort of responding to the comment from Mees68. What is the message here? I'm not religious. I have no problem with people having fun with their belief system. I just wonder how this actually got any message across. I mean, I certainly didn't learn anything from it.

  • you are just viewing 5 minutes of what was an entire evening. i am sure the folks heading up this ministry had some kind of lesson before/after... or in any of the other 50+ times they probably get together during the year.

  • Sure but that's not what the guy down there is commenting on, is it? I mean, THIS is what we all see. And I don't understand how THIS is getting any message to the young people. UNLESS that message is, "there was dancing at the nativity scene."

  • *Morning. This is a presbyterian church.

  • The message is centered in a new cultural reflection on the incarnation of Jesus. It is a celebration of the birth of Jesus revisited with an new voice. This is memorable and creative and has a shelf life in the mind of youth. In a culture were xmas has lost its reflection on the nativity, this helps to remind students that "this one night" something amazing happened. Hope this helps you to see the value of remembering the birth of Jesus.

  • From one youth ministry to another - GREAT JOB!!! I'm still smiling after watching it 6 times!

  • these kids are brutal... such "too cool" deadpan faces! i don't think they realize what cool youth leaders they have!
