  • Beautiful idea! What a concept, so simple but so innovative. Well done.

  • Hi, Ron. What a beautiful little spinner, looks like something that would be fun to do with children. One question - does the little propeller spin on a mechanism, or just on a dowel?

  • It's beautiful and fascinating, but I'd like to see how you take the singles off so that you can ply them. I'm suffering from a failure of imagination, here.

  • You simply hold the spinner straight up and down (vertical or a right angle, to the floor) and wind the single off using a ball winder or nosti. The spinniner will flutter when the single is being wound off.

    Thanks for your inquiry,

    Ron

  • Yes. The same steps required when using a drop spindle will apply to the Hourglass Spindle. Yes, it will work for plying. The only restriction is the amount of yarn that can be wound onto the spinner. Thanks for your inquiry, Ron

  • I have a few questions?? Is this like the Spindolyn where you have an extra step to get the single off onto something else before plying. Or, should I ask what is the best way to get the copp off and ply with the Hourglass spindle and does it work for plying. I'm just wondering how versatile it is? Thanks, Wendy

  • That is a very nice spindle. Is part of it made of glass? Where are these available to buy?

    thanks, grace

  • Interesting, this is the frist time I have seen this type of spindle demoed.
