go back and watch the movie, When Optimus is handing it(The Matrix) over, Rodimus misses and its caught by (drum roll) HOT ROD and it starts to shine. It fades out when Ultra Magnusputs it in his chest. Eluding to the fact that Hot Rod was always meant to be the next leader.

@oitstrue yeah they were really subtle with the foreshadowing in thisw movie but it somehow made the movie more awesome. Plus stan bush's the touch makes for an epic eighties backdrop to Hot Ros's transformation iinto rodimus!!

@luciusdux Rodimus had intentions of being a great leader, as well excited of his new job as the movie portrayed him, but i dont know if someone forgot to tell the writers that Rodimus was supposed to be confident and proud of his own position, they created ''Emo Prime''.

This wasn't in an episode, ist is a scene of the movie. The other Autobot was Cup, and was badly damaged. HozRod fights the tentacle thing and repairs Cup.

I know I should have pointed this out long ago, but I always thought that the way Unicron's head is shaped closely resembles a samurai helmet. I guess that's common even in Japanese anime cartoons about mecha how a lot of the robots resemble samurai armor.

no no no no no no. after this, season 3 came out, and it wasnt too good. ok, it sucked, it made Beast Machines look good (which if you ask me is hard to do, given how awesome Beast Wars was, Beast Machines just sucked). but, Galvatron lived for season 3, and was killed at the end of it.

Rodimus Prime was a good try, but you could never replace Optimus. It wasn't his fault though...Optimus is quite the tough act to follow, and Rodimus's character just kept getting overshadowed by the ghost of Optimus.

It's about hope and the power of optimism. If you believe that everything will work out for the best, and you do everything you can to get there, then you'll find a way to overcome your problems. I just wish some cartoons nowadays, 20 years down the track, where as uplifting and positive and genuinely moving as this movie was. Sure, I didn't cry, but I got chills during this and the Optimus fight. Truly a great movie to do that.

Just an observation made by my 6 year old brother while watching this movie when it was first released: previous to this scene Grimlock hits Unicron full force and not much happens; Swoop looses two missles that fail to put more than a superficial wound on Unicron; yet Rodimus throws Galvatron through the hull. DAMN that boy either got real strong or was REALLY pissed
