  • this was cute :D despite everyone's mean remarks!

  • Darcy looks like my dad...

  • Their kids would have the unruliest hair.

  • I always thought Collins and Mary would have been perfect for each other. :-)

  • hahah she hit him with her car!v and is she wearing pj's at the end? what the ugly pants hahah

  • hahah she hit him with her car

  • How did Darcy get that thing Caroline stole off Lizzie? What is it anyway? Kissing him with blood is disgusting. He had it on his lip too. Ew.

  • @vintagerosenz Caroline didn't steal anything from Elizabeth. If you mean the floppy disc, she dropped it on the chair at Will's cabin.

  • if anyone know whats the song at 4:17, pleasss let me know, will be very much appreciated!!!

  • @ThePemberley I looked it up. Self Portrait by Stephanie Smith.

  • Worst version of pride and prejudice

  • Good movie, but I wish that something else would've happened rather then him chasing her in Las Vegas...

  • Oh my God! What did they do? I love Pride and Prejudice... but this version is.... what can I say? STUPID!!

  • I DID IT! i can officially say that i have seen the film

  • what rubbish. loved it :)

  • @rasani77

I agree if you lasted up to this point, you've clearly thrown the book out the window, left the author rolling in her grave, walked past all the horrible cliches and costume designing and bad acting. This movie became a parody and is simply left to be laughed at and enjoyed. It's ridicously insane and witty at brief moments its a hot mess and that type of car accident you can't help but see on the road and still not watch it happening. You are offically a survior. :D

  • @TheWonderGirl23 I invested too much time to hate it :)

  • @TheWonderGirl23 I just couldn't put my feelings into words better than you just did.

  • @TheWonderGirl23 I think we just love suffering that's all... but thanks for the upload... ok now I need some 'colin' darcy at once!

  • most awkward kiss ever.....

  • I hate but kinda love this movie at the same time I hate it because it's a disgrace to the book but I love it cuz it's really funny

  • i love this story

  • ew!! at least wipe the blood off his lip before kissing him!!

  • Ha ha ha--I can't believe anyone is comparing this movie to either the book or any of the other movies. The fact that the movie is set in contemporary times takes the entire story out of context in a way that makes it ludicrous to try and compare it with the novel, ha ha ha.

As for this move itself, I found it totally tongue-in-cheek, laugh-out-loud funny. The entire film reminds me of my uni-days, and I really enjoyed the simple characterizations, sets and overall style of the film. Cheers!

  • kiss with blood?! yuck!

  • I am an avid Jane Austen fan and I think Pride and Prejudice is one of the best stories ever written. I'm always on the look-out for remakes no matter how bad. After all "beggars can't be choosers". That said, this rendition is actually not bad as far as plot but the acting and directing is so lame it's difficult to enjoy the movie. There are some very funny parts and I'm glad Mary finally got her man. LOL

  • well this was kinda like watching a worse bridget jones movie mixed with some girls club and it wasn't really like the real pride and prejudice... but still i kinda liked it it was cute^^

  • ok so as trying to create a "modern" pride and predjudice goes i'd say that it was just ok, cute, but just ok. I like the movie Bride and Predjudice better.

  • what is the ending song?

  • @scholargirl2 Its Solid Comma Girl by Brilliant Stereo Mob

  • whats the song at 4.13 ?

  • It's a good movie, put they shouldn't have categorize it as Pride and Prejudice...

  • ok...... cute idea yes... but as for being pride and predujice that is insulting to compare them

  • okay, so i think we can safely say that we've found the worse pride and prejudice adaptation ever.

...but, yeah, it was cute enough. it was really, really terrible. but i enjoyed myself.

  • @xXxninjaxXxnerdxXx Clearly, you haven't seen the version with Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson.

  • @Weirdin130 The Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson version is far better then this movie! That version was classic and so well directed. As for this one, the acting was the cheesiest thing I have ever seen. Plus, you can totally tell this movie had such a low budget because the set, clothes and music are horrible! I would have to say the worst adaptation of Pride and Prejudice!!!

  • @sept8 oh shut up

  • @xXxninjaxXxnerdxXx u obviously thought it was good cuz u made it to the end so stop complaing cuz if it was bad to u u would have stopped at the first part

  • @blackeyesonyou No. I did not think that it was good. But I also wasn't complaining. I thought it was terrible, exactly like I said. It is, in general, a sub-par movie. I did, however, enjoy watching it, also exactly like I said. Something doesn't have to be a work of art to be entertaining. And while this film was lovely for a late night nothing-else-to-do movie, it was far from a work of art. But I did watch it. I did like it. I'm not complaining. That's just you.

  • This is a Mormon satire people. If you've grown up as a Mormon or around Mormons, you would have understood this movie a lot better. Most Mormons get married at an EXTREMELY young age, and for them, 26 is getting old.

  • the actor who plays Darcy seems an older version of Daniel Raddcliffe (Harry Potter)

  • Cute movie tho it was a lil corny lol

  • In this movie both girls take the initiative and kiss their lovers;))

  • Bingley is a dumb...

  • I liked that they put pemberley from the 1995 version but aside from that the movie was not good.

  • I liked it -3

    thnx for uploading :)

    How was the book?

  • Hahahaha . . . Jack pursuing a career in daytime tv. Perfect!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • this video is so wrong, even the part darcy marry elizabeth is wrong, who marries at such young age ?? gosh, pnp concept only applies to victorian eras

  • @hoppingsquirrel didnt she say that she was like 26 or 28 at the beginning of the movie??? thats a good age to get married. . . . even now!!!

  • @hoppingsquirrel in this version, Elisabeth is 26 years old. seems like a fine age to get married.

  • @hoppingsquirrel i know plenty of people who have married that young, in fact younger than 26

  • A sweet little movie for twelve-year-old girls.

  • Wtf? Cheesiest shit eva!!

  • Yes Jane Austen is probably turning in grave...from laughter...this was so shocking that it had me laughing the whole way through. Too funny!

  • Oh my freaking god this was bad! Jane Austen's turning in her grave....

  • probably the worst movie i have ever seen

  • @alooolable Have u wathed twilight??

  • @ThePottergirl234 yeah twilight is even worse!

  • i wonder how "blood" tastes like? XD

  • this movie is silly, but you just can help but love it!!

  • pretty good ending. and geez guys, this is an adaptation and modernized version. of course it has to be different from the original.

  • all i have to say is this was a very different version of pride and prejudice.... the guy playing mr darcy was kinda cute thou

  • Okay, this totally trashes the book, although it is a sweet adaptation.

  • what a prejudiced misread.

  • seriously, if you hate this movie so much, why are you still watching?

  • so unrealistic, you could never stand on the road in vegas, the stretts are walled in from every direction and traffic is crazy!

  • the guy who plays Darcy is so funny and cute!!! Yeah, he's kind of corny too, but thats what i like about him!!! <3 xD

  • This is not one of my faves but I think that it is better than the 1940s version. Which drove me crazy. This version is better in some way than that one. But It is not better than the 1970s or the 1990s verison. The best part of this movie is the Hott Mr. Darcy. I have always loved him. There are other good parts but I do think that this movie is ok.

  • @AmazonNicola why do you love the character of mr darcy.

  • @scrambledpenis I do not know how to explain it. I just do. There is just something in his character that makes me love the character Mr. Darcy. There are many reasons why I love him I just cannot really explain it. He is who is he is and I love him for it even though he is an idiot for most of the time but he is willing to change.

  • @AmazonNicola i like his character because he is misunderstood, i like the idea that you can get past the first impression. i like how in the begining we think he is a jerk but slowly he is revealerd to be a true gentlemen. i like how in most versions everyone hates mr darcy because he does not put on an act like mr wickam who is liked by everyone because of his charmingness. i like darcy because he is representative of the idals of masculinty such as male emotional restraint.

  • "We're not engaged she's completely crazy!" Haha... it gets me every time... x)

  • what is this shit?

  • whats the second song played in this clip i cant tell

  • I really LOVE this movie! I think it is sooooo cute :D I love Jane and Mr. Bingley!!! Thank you very much.

  • EWWW SHE KISSED HIM WITH BLOOD ON THIS LIPS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hahahah thats the only part i grossed out about! haha

  • Orlando Seale is both hot and a nice actor!

  • Jane Austen is SOO rolling over on her grave...seriously the acting was shit

the only god thing there was Mr Darcy-he is hot-but have no lips thou

  • the dude who plays darcy has NO LIPS!!!!

i stil think his cute though

  • this movie is pretty funny

    lol 1:13 ....."I-I-I think i killed him"

  • i just couldnt get past the american elizabeth. the only thing i really thought was good was the picture of jane austen at the end.

  • i enjoyed watching this movie, it was totally funny.

    Darcy was actually pretty cute.

But they never really explained what happened to Charlotte...

  • lol this is so cute!! my mormon friend has been trying to get me to watcg this for years! thank you so much for posting this its hilarious!!

  • This was a terrible adaption of the original, but it is cute and hilarious in its own way. Especially if you get all the Mormon jokes

  • even though i don't like this version, mr. darcy will always be my dream guy!

  • What a butcher job on a real classic.

  • Yes, it's funny, why not? It's funny to play with classicals, classicals shouldn't always stay closed in a closed dusty room.... Just need to assume it's an american light comedy...

  • no chemistry btw liz n darcy in dis movie...

  • how the heck did he catch up with the car by running?!?! and then kiss while he's got a concussion on the ground... but hey, that's pemberley!

  • lovely. simply that.

  • marya t the end kind of looks like my 9th grade english teacher...thank god my teacher didn't act like her though!

  • I hated this movie first time round, and then watched it a second time to review it for my Pride and Prejudice blog.

I'm still not heaps keen, but it's growing on me. And, of course, Orlando Seale is yum!

  • I was glad that Mary gets who she wants in this one. That often doesn't happen in Pride and Prejudice... ;P

  • what is the name of the song around 4:30?

  • I was really hoping that Darcy wouldn't run after her right then. just waited til after the whole arrested thing and then flew to London and Elizabeth would be on the bridge early in the morning like he told her before, and she'd be all sad thinking of him and he'd come up behind her. say something, she'd smile/laugh and turn and he'd explain about Caroline lying and get down on one knee and propose to Elizabeth. that's what should have happened. way cuter. :)

  • @plaidxmyheart That would have been perfect. But NOOOOO.

  • @plaidxmyheart OMG I WAS WANTING THE SAME THING!!! Too bad it didn't happen...apparently the script writer didn't want to cater to the most perfect romantic ending imaginable....

  • i really didn't like this version! it was a good idea to adapt the story in a n actual context, but i thing the movie doesnt show the beauty and sophistication of feelings. it's a love movie as we can watch everywhere. it isnt romanthic as in the book or in the older version. really i hate!

and sorry if my english is bad, i'm french....

    thank for your job!

    bye

  • @olympuce1 I´ve got the same opinion, and your english isn´t bad well Ithink I´m mexican JEJE!!!

  • yeahh, if i didn't know pride ansd prejudice was a book and i didn't watch any of the other reditions, this is a pretty cute chickflick

  • i like it is very well good and mr darcy is a hunk to be blunt

  • painful

  • >____>

I like the movie with Keira Knightly better...

  • ok... i love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love loved this movie!! it made me smile & laugh and it was absolutely amazing! i havent seen a romanic movie like this in a while. its like a breath of fresh air. :))))))))

  • Ok how the hell did he know where to run after he came out of the church?

  • @Goldkehlchen20 it's a movie..nonsense stuff like that happens all the time. =)

  • @Goldkehlchen20 Ok this comment sounds like a dude.

  • @mangmans So you think logical thinking is impossible for someone who is female?

  • @Goldkehlchen20 nope, its less common, and chicks dont usually cuss :). Espeically someone watching this movie.

  • I like how they adapted this movie to fit into today's context, but I think they could have gotten better actors for Jane, Charles, and Kitty. They all annoyed me to no end. Collins was good, and Darcy and Elizabeth were marvelous. Overall, it's a movie that I plan on watching at least once a year, since I'm such a huge Jane Austen fan.

  • Been a huge Pride and Prejudice fan ever since I read the book when I was 13! There are only two versions I like. This one and the 1995 movie. In the 2005 movie I really liked Matthew Macfadyen as Darcy, but Keira Knightley's portrayal of Elizabeth ruined it for me. I love how Mary ends up with Mr. Collins in this one version!! Cracked me up!!! :-P

  • @snowleopard89 I completely agree with everything you said.

  • i did not like the movie at all i mean i always love pride and prejudice and the other versions of it but not this one:C

  • Jazz for cats

  • i have to be honest that the only reason i even watched this movie adaptation is Orlando Seale. and the scene with girls unable to form a complete sentence. : DD

  • Thank you so much for putting this movie up!

  • i like the music of the movie... and the movie and darcy i luv darcy wherever

  • I agree about enjoying seeing another version of p&p but..the acting was horrible..and so was the new make up of the characters.

  • Both Bridget Jones Diary and Pride and Predjudice (2005) are better than this version, but I'm trying to watch everything with a touch of Austen, so thanks for putting it up :)

  • Sometimes I feel really proud to be British like now when I think that Orlando Seale is in fact a product of this country and that we can have guys as hot as him running around in handcuffs x

  • im happy that i could see another version of pride and pejudice ^^ and i think that this film is not bad at all...it is funny and cool and kind of crazy xD

    5*

it is different from ther original but also great ^^

  • Thank you so much for putting all of the work into getting this movie on youtube. Whether anyone likes it or not, it brought a multitude of P&P lovers together to watch and converse about a great novel. I watch everything about P&P, some versions I like others I don't, but the essence of the love between Darcy and Lizzie keeps me coming back for more.

  • Happy ever after!!

  • the one with colin firth is way way way better than this movie

  • I 1500% agree with that!!!!!

  • that can also be said for the 05 version as well even though I love that one too.

  • to be honest this movie didnt really seem interested. i thought it was going to a blast. guess not.

  • It's not a parody - parodies make fun of what they're taking off, this is just a silly, light-hearted version that works because it doesn't take itself seriously.

By the way, why are people called "Orlando" really, really ridiculously good looking?

  • darcys a massive hottie.

  • this is better than i thought

  • this is not pride and prejudice?!

  • oh i liked it

    its funny n cute ....

    come on

  • Thanks for putting this movie on youtube! Btw, I love your profile pic!!! Alex O'laughlin is amazing, I'm so sad Moonlight ended after one season!:(

  • She most really enjoy the taste of blood off of his lips.

  • music at 4.15 is Self Portrait by Stephanie Smith

  • thaank yoou!! (:

  • Come on guys, lighten up - it's just a fun movie.

  • They did a terrible job with this adaptation. Bride and Prejudice is so much more believable.

  • does anyone know what tha song is called that is playng at 4.15? x)

  • he is the most smiling darcy of all.

  • I love Pride & Prejudice. And I think this version is a nice twist to the classic.

  • I have to give it due credit for its creativity. But it still smell a little like parody....

  • usually i'm not intrested in pride & prejudice but this 1 is really good!!!!!!!!!!

  • love this film it so good

  • the only "nice" thing about this movie is the actor that plays Mr. Darcy !!!!

  • the girl that plays elisabeth looks kind of like the gril that plays in battlestar galactica. she is very pretty

  • I think it's kinda gross that she is kissing him while there is blood on his lip, but maybe that's just me.....but they are way cute together.:)

  • HA HA! It's strawberry syrup! Yumm! :)

  • @yabo4u Yeah. I'll think of it that way. That helps. Thanks! :)

  • elizabeth was from my prince and me 2(im not sure if the title is correct :S)

  • As an adaption of P&P, it's pretty crappy to be honest. But on its own it's pretty darn hilarious and a nice movie to watch :)

  • " I, I ... I think I killed him..."

    Bahahaha.

  • well, to all of you who gave negative valuation: read the book first and then tell me that this film isn't completely bullshit

  • But dude. The full title of this movie is Pride and Prejudice: A Latter-Day Comedy.

I think the fact that they're calling it a comedy kind of excuses the fact that it's not totally faithful to the book.

So, in my mind, comparing this to the book is kind of like comparing the Lion King to Hamlet. They're the same story for different genres.

  • wow you, know i totally forget that Lion king is a modern day, cartoon lion version Idea of hamlet, but i have heard it multiple times LOL

  • You read my thoughts....

  • haha...its not like it sticks out and when we first saw it as kids... likely we had never heard of hamlet.

  • A nice lil' Mormon movie.

  • low budjet? there can be great movies with low budjet. helloooo

I think u re just charmed by the beautiful people in this movie, well some of themmm...

anw i just think that once u ve reached sth so good, if u cant make it better, please stop...

and it unavoidably falls to comparison...

  • darcy and lizzy are cute together :)

  • This was amazing!!! Orlando Seale as Mr.Darcy was almost to perfect!!!! What's funny though is to watch this and then watch Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story. He plays Joe Elliot!!! HAHA!!! i guess that's just for nerds like me!!! This was an amazing movie!

  • Isn't Elizabeth from greys anatomy?

  • I don´t think so.

  • Not too bad, for a modern retelling... but the book and the '95 miniseries with Colin Firth are definitely the best.

Three words guys: Darcy's Lake Scene.. *giggles*

  • Did anyone else notice that the big house they show at the very end is the same house used for the exterior of Pemberley in the BBC/A&E version of P&P? I thought that was a nice nod.

  • this is cheesy but you gotta love it! the best version is the BBC 1995. also 2005 movie is good to. another great film is BRIDE AND PREJUDICE. its kinda like this film.

  • ugh!!!this is bugging me so bad.... what is the second to last song? 'all of these lines on my page' i luv that song but i don't know what its called- i've already tried 'picture perfect'. HELP! its driving me CRAZY!!!

  • it's called 'self portrait'

    i love it too

    xx

  • god i love this song. i just can't get it anywhere!!! this ending is my favorite by far. i love how he says caroline is crazy while he has blood all over his face lol

  • thanks for the vids

    charming!

  • Okay, I only have one objection. One, why was Bingley made to look silly?

Next, Kitty married and has *5 girls*...thats the orginial...cute. I like this movie. This is what got me started with P&P...right after *THIS* movie, I read the novel and then I saw the BBC Version with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth, then the 40s movie version with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier. But my favorite version, believe it or not, is the 2005 movie version with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen =]

  • There's a book called "Mr. Darcy takes a wife" that continues the story of the Jane Austen novel quite nicely with lots of lovely language and a bit victorian handporn ;) forgot the name of the author though...
