I hate when people criticize the sport for it being full contact.

Every fighter knows the risk involved when they walk into the ring, and they do it because they enjoy the thrill of fighting. Then there's the assholes that give them shit for being brutally violent, who act like its their sole duty to turn the world into a danger-free utopia of bullshit. It's the fighter's decision to go in the ring, they know the possible consequences, if you don't like it, don't watch it.

Why do I waste my time watching these women compete in something that is not natural to them? I'm not impressed by any of these female fighters. Not by Cyborg, not by the somewhat pretty Carano, nor Coenen, nor Kaufman. These women seem like they are desperately trying to prove that they enjoy behaving like men in combative competition. Wow, Kaufman has some serious power. Strong girl. I saw a female bouncer do that to a guy outside a club in San Diego once, but it was more of a hip toss and slam right into the sidewalk. The guy was out cold for several minutes though. The bouncer was a big bodybuilder chick who may have had some judo training. I doubt the guy ever went back to that place again.

@vhamp well you can't spike someone but you can slam someone. like you can't drop them on the top of their head. it's takes alot if effort to get a slam done right so i say it's cool. now punches to the back of the head will make alot of fights end easy. if you have someones back why go for the choke just crack them in the back of the head.

@vhamp You obviously don't understand physics. A fist hits harder than the mat because it's a smaller object. More of your body absorbs the blow with a slam, whereas the back of your skull takes the entire blow with a punch or elbow. There are also rules about slams as well pertaining to spiking and what not which are also in place for the fighters' safety.

@vhamp I think that is because the probability of doing a well-done slam is rather small; on the other hand, you could constantly punch your oponent's back of the head. Slams are killer... but rare

@vhamp The difference is you can repeatedly hit someone in the back of head. i'd rather be slammed on my head, then have someone like jon jones or cain velasquez repeatedly smash the back of my head with elbows and punches into the canvas
