  • Its like Im there again. Awesome stuff man!

  • Gray Porsche super oversteer.

  • grand am and ALMS need to merge.

  • It was a good race! Glad to have experienced it this year!

  • hopefully there will be video's like this for 12 hours of sebring and 24 hours of le mans.

  • great video

  • Leo, could a well funded team win with an electric race car? With a quick swap battery tech and regain braking?

  • more Continental Tire coverage

  • Great show to the team at Drive this is network TV without the network bull.

  • Great show to the team at Drive this is network TV without the network bull. Keep up the great work.

  • Hey Leo, you've commented on how big the Ford logo was on Starworks Racing #8 car, I don't know if you remember when Todd Braun Racing switched from Dodge to Chevy in Nascar Busch Series, #32 team showed up with the car, they had the big Chevy logo on the front. Ford Racing honcho might deny it was a sponsorship deal, however, #8 car was all white, no sponsors. The only difference, at the time #32 Braun car had the WinFuel sponsorship

  • Your a legend Leo, best thing on Drive, best thing on YouTube, just please get to le mans, wish I had the balls to wear that t-shirt hahaha, reminds me of a Muria

  • :O 24H at Daytona

  • Thank you for the great video, looking forward to the summer.

  • Excellent job, Leo!

  • i need more McNish

  • I had the opportunity to chat with Leo on the way in to the track, really awesome to see this video on here! I look forward to more, but one request, more Continental Tire coverage!

  • What about the 24 hour Tough Mudders Race?

  • You guys should do the Indycar coverage make it like BBC formula

  • Excellent video, i loved the tech QnA. More of everything you did here, more often. Keep it up!

  • excellent vid, I can't believe how quiet it looks?! Will you guys be going to Le Mans this year?

  • i like the beginning of this video

  • I want longer episodes.

  • Daytona prototype ford v6

  • @DrJ2042 V8. Just saying.

  • @LeoParente O i know that I heard ford say they had a v6 turbo ecoboost engine on the dyno during the race and they were going to try and get it out mid season thats what i was asking about

  • Not the only 24 Hour race. Ever heard of 24 Hours of Lemons or Chump car?

  • Things I worship:

    God.

    My girlfriend.

    Drive.

    Leo Parente.

    That order is correct.

  • @HorizonXP What about your fam bro.

  • @HorizonXP I can live with that list. But, girlfriend #2? You sure she can? !!

  • @LeoParente LOL, looking at it now, I formatted it incorrectly. You're #1 on my list, making my GF #3. So it's actually "worse" than you assumed.

  • As usual a very good job Leo and the guys on the DRIVE

  • Why the beeps in episodes?!?

  • I watched the Rolex 24 on Speed and agree with Sir Jackie, more cars and drivers needed. You need more in thre Protoype class the 25 chassis designs and 4 engines. The only way for Top-level roadracinhg to survive in North America is to bury the hatchet with ALMS and join forces together. Then you could get cars like the LMPs and the new class from Le Mans and use international rules instead of modified NASCAR engines.

  • OMG McNISH INTERVIEW!!?!

    I FUCKING LOVE SHAKEDOWN!?!?!?!!?

  • Well done Leo interesting episode!!

  • AMAZING Episode, love the talks with the pros and about setups, and Jackie Stewart? BOSS!

  • Don't let the shirt haters bother you Leo, there's nothing that will exclaim that Leo Parente has arrived better than the neon shirt.

The DP cars still dont look that good.

  • Great work Leo and all. Glad to see you straitened out you video rights... Leo, today is a good day Gronk is out of his walking boot.

  • Great questions Leo. A well shot film, up with the usual high standards off Drive. Well done guys.

  • Very nice job! Leo Parente keep this good work. Thanks a lot!!!

  • This is amazing

  • Pretty freakin sick. Excellent video. I was annoyed by the audio problems though.

  • Fab episode.

    1. Leo, please don't go near the green-screen with that t-shirt.

    2. JYS says about bringing more manufacturers, who would tempt the foreign media, fans and drivers?

    3. Most importantly, if the team had a failure and swapped to car 43, wouldn't that car be 100's of laps down if it was toward the middle or end of the race? Who drove it for the few laps, surely it couldn't be one of the three drivers, as that would be odd? Am confused, what do you think?

    4. Amazing slo-mo's and cam!

  • Great race! Nice camera shots! Ugly shirt Leo...lol!!!

  • Wow Leo, when did neon come back into style?

  • leo is soooo short

  • im sure i would have loved this vid, i'm sure i would have but, i couldn't see shit after i saw that T-shirt, now instead of watching Drive and FLD.... lets learn braille

  • MCNISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow Leo killing me with that bright shirt sir...at first thought I was looking at a pistachio commercial lol jk jk...all joking aside. It was a great show really enjoy your coverage and sir jackie Stewart was right we need more variety of cars maybe net year we will see these hybrid race cars

  • Another fine episode, but I'm biased as this one catered to what I like most. Very tasty sound bites from those you interviewed. GrandAm put on a good show and makes it harder for me to still prefer alms. Now that you have covered two of the premiere 24 hr auto racing events, what distinctions can you draw between them? No idea how I missed you in that shirt on Sat!

  • That new ford kinda looks like the old Pegeout 905

  • That's pretty damn fast for a 24 hour pace!

  • Outstanding as always. I have a ChumpCar 14 hour race at Daytona in May, loved the insight.

  • leo: nice job, as always. you think a pit walk, a-la brundle is in the cards for upcoming races???

  • The Continental Challenge on the other hand, has REAL race cars. Way more interesting them GA.

  • Almost none of the new cars were even competitive. The track is not very interesting at all. The Ferrari is really quiet. The DPs are still too slow to be a premier class, and they are still not really "prototype" cars. They are spec racers with stickers, just like Sprint Cup. Boring

  • @chrisdraper2007 McNish had a comment about the track. Not what you expect, if you think it is boring. Will try to work it into this Friday's show. Plus, a bit more on why the new cars 'failed'.

  • Overall, the experience of watching it on TV felt like an extended Nascar race and not that exciting. The on-board shots were not exciting at all, just looking at the driver, and not out the windshield. I feel the race was massively over hyped. Unlike a standard ALMS race (or enduro) there is action start to finish in every class with multiple cars battling for a win.

  • this is beautiful, this is the bread and butter for people like us

  • Leo, I think you're gonna need a good chiropractor after talking to the Empire Sta.....Michael Waltrip.

  • The audio mix, backgroud score is too high for the voiceovers to be heard clearly.

  • Has anyone actually watched that creepy music commercial with people in masks and shit or am I the only one that continuously skips it?

  • Farah had a vey good point. But I'll forgive you because it was a great segment even if it was 10 or 20 minutes too short. There were some great shots in there. You were obviously paying attention to JF when he was talking about shooting cars. Much thanks!

  • @jonnyswitchblade Wow. The best 'very good point' in the vid was from Matt? BS - The green shirt lives + will be back. FYI - I don't shoot. JF + Tom Morningstar did the work. Matt was shooting, too. Not sure if any of his stuff got in here. If yes, he gets a nod, too.

  • @LeoParente Patagonia is making a nice orange crew this year that matches the Porsche hybrid. Check it out. I bought one to wear before Laguna Seca and it still looks good. It's way better than that black light special you were wearing. The guys working the camera did a great job. And seriously, give us another five or ten minutes at 200 fps. It was great seeing the wheels work around those corners. Thumbs up to all the work going into Shakedown. Except for that green shirt.

  • Very cool. xP

  • Leo are you color blind?

  • @Genapex Are you boring? Or are YOU Matt?

  • Nice one guys, nice to see you get out and grab some great coverage, this is also much more entertaining.

  • I was trying to meet Leo on Sunday but met Matt Farah instead! Not a bad weekend. Love the Drive channel, guys.

  • @jsingleton17 Sorry I missed you. Unless you are saying meeting Matt was better! Ha.

  • @LeoParente Not a chance! You both are great. Isn't it weird having people admire you!? haha

  • Winner at 2:38. Travis Pastrana awesome.

  • this episode is epic. leo....well done sir. jf. well done. this is class.

  • LEOOOOOOO

  • I really hate to be the one to say this, but the skinny Danny Devito keeps taking away from the moody drama that the video keeps reestablishing.

  • @soulshinobi Ehh. And I think the truth is 'No, you don't'. That's OK, just man up.

  • I pictured Leo a bit taller. How tall are you man? Just wondering, don't want to be rude here.

  • I'm european and i didn't really know about Daytona 24, so thanks for that awesome video, it was interesting.

  • @Mlurphe Perfect. You are welcome!

  • T-MAC

  • Sir Jackie Stewart!

  • loved this video, great photography and music

  • Ford ftw.

  • Shakedown on the Aussie F1 GP please.

  • great coverage, awesome video... keep it up guys

  • LOVE IT.... great to hear the guy(leo) with knowledge what he is talking about.... amazing show!!

  • I'm I the only one who notices that NO race driver ever gives a good interview?

Parente: Michael, running the new car, is there anything you're watching out for?

Waltrip: Yeah, I love this race, I've always been a fan, it's great to be here!

So...are you going to answer the question there Mr. Waltrip?

  • @carsismeZ06 THANK YOU! For noticing.

  • 6:09??? What's the point of parking the car? It will be dead last if anything happens... I don't think that it would be able to catch up to the lead lap.... even though it's a 24 hour race.

  • @nextyles

if there car craps out and lets say 50% of the fields car crap out they would still be in the race and could have a decent finish, especially if there first car broke down in the first 8 hours.

  • Really enjoyed following Magnus racing on their live stream and chat during the race. Good times.

  • 4:33... Haven't seen a Competition Viper in ages xD

  • Fantastic episode, love this kinda stuff

  • This guys(the team of drive) are going to get big... !! And i am glad i was here from the beginning :)

  • Shakedown is the best part of Drive, and this has been the best Shakedown so far, continue on this and it will be awesome.

  • damn this was a awesome race im going every year now. with travis pastrana being there meeting one of my heroes was pretty cool to. only bad thing is i think im getting addicted to racing.

  • @krispy022 That's not a bad thing!

  • Great editing.

  • I loved the bit with Mike Fox about the different setups for qualifying and race, it's great to hear technical explanations for once, I hope to see more of that!!

  • wowza

  • compared to the 24h nürburgring this is really nothing

  • @DoctorPhil1337 This is very true and a reason why a lot of Americans and enthusiasts around the world want US motorsports to organize itself and better promote racing here in the US. America has for the most part, isolated itself from FIA for various reasons. It's time to swallow our pride and enter the international racing circuit. I WANT MORE WTCC HERE IN USA!! ^_~

  • Jackie Stewart YES!

  • Great piece! Just makes me want more 24 hour Le mans coverage on the show, great work!!

  • so much better than SPEED. Great Video

  • Leo rocks

  • great job guys!

I think it would be great to see a few photographs, of the race, in your videos or a link to some in the description.

  • Great video guys loved it! and you got to speak to sir jackie awesome!

  • great show!!

  • Micheal Waltrip is really fucking tall!

  • Great Job!!!

    And good interviews.

  • decent questions, awesome shots, if only the show was longer...

  • I think it looks great on Leo haha Matt is just a hater

  • Absolutely fantastic; one of the best things I've seen on youtube. Helluva good job!

  • AWESOME video this week. Great event too

  • I live 20mins away and i'm really hating myself for not going to this -__-

  • Leo looks like hes dressed for one of those pistachio commercials.

  • GREAT video! I've been a Grand Am fan for a few years now, this is definitely going to be the most fun season since I've been watching. Sir Jackie is right though, more variety of cars would only make this race better. I loved the new Prototype vehicles though.

  • Jackie Stewart said it best.

  • 5:44 Y U MAKE THAT NOISE?

  • epic...

  • Great job with the story and questions Leo.

Great job with the video JF. That turner M3 shot was why I chose a motorsports career.

  • "We got the most competitive GT-field in the history of Rolex, or any 24 hour race for that matter...."

Err, Le Mans 24h?! lol, what an ignorant..

Btw, I still love this channel. Hands down the best car channel on the web.

  • 5:29 Leo's shirt malfunction

  • how the hell are all those seats empty, it didnt live miles away and had work and school i would of gotten on a plane and watched the whole race !

  • MAGNUS RACING!!!

  • Matt Farah's comment about Leo's apparel .... LOL !!!

  • That was almost pure bliss. Great camera footage. Thanks guys :D

  • whats the song at the start??

  • Awesome coverage! I got blue screen of death during the race twice so I couldn't watch it :O

  • Racing video on Shakedown = Win!

  • Leo, the green and black look worked. maybe try frameless glasses.

as for the racing, 24 hour racing is pretty cool but these primitive overweight unaerodynamic combustion engine cars do not impress me. ICE is dead, it's just too red state ignorant to know it. one way you can easily tell that the engineers don't know what they are doing is the rims. zero aerodynamic consideration in their design. that should tell you a lot if you respect logic

  • All the talk about the new Corvettes and Audis and they both did quite bad. The Audis were downright terrible, spinning out everywhere in the last few hours.

  • @47ambrose42jpm

Well yeah its an endurance race..

  • I think I had a crisis!

  • Holly shit that was an amazing footage from the race. Beautiful work from Drive and Leo.

  • Leo Parente: Driver, Journalist, Wearer of Lime Shirts

  • Wow.. well produced and again, stunningly high quality content.

  • Dude, that t-shirt has just melted my optic nerves!.....great vid though.

  • The tv coverage of motorsport recently have gone sub-zero, thank god there's shakedown.

  • so if they did use the backup car would they be last or would the car get the drivers position?

  • I was looking for leo at the race, didnt work.

Great video and a fantastic race. I wasnt to happy with the winners but thats racing.

  • How did this comparie the to 24 hours at the Ring?

  • 3:15 - 4:15 PURE honey for a racer-wannabe like myself. I am poor so I go simracing 'cause it is cheaper and that interview was awesome! I love setup stuff.

  • Yes, that was awesome.

  • Love Leo's enthusiasm. It's infectious. Gets your right into the action.

  • Awesome episode guys really enjoyed it!

  • Another quality episode!

I see Leo decided to wear the old green screen :)

  • Sweet stuff!!!

Loved the short but interesting interviews at the cars specially the last one about the Tire management.

Also great video shots after that looked really pro as always :D

The rotary engine still sounds the best in my opinion :)

  • At 6:30, i think that car was half a rocket! :) . NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

  • Awesome stuff as always, Leo! Farah's comment on the shirt made me lol

  • This was definitely one of the most fun rolex 24's iv been to.

  • Awesome! Great video! watched last 8 hours of it :)

  • Great job Leo!

  • Love the Rolex 24 coverage! Great episode!

glad you guys figured out all that licensing stuff and were able to show us some good video.

The shot with the Audi R8 and two Porsche's sliding around the corner were my favorite shots :)

    Keep up the great work!

  • Jackie makes a great point.

  • It's a shame the Mustang has a shitty livery.

  • Leo Parente, great stuff! Very good. Terrible shirt... but great stuff...

  • @hornetburnout No, great shirt. It served it's purpose on-site @D24.

  • Leo! Only you can rock a neon green shirt and a sport jacket. haha

  • I love your work Leo !

  • Comment removed

  • just EPIC!!!

  • Ford FTW!!

  • @typhoon5000 Ford 1, 2, 3 like the 1966 D24! Unfortunately, I bet the result further justifies certain FoMoCo execs in not needing to really spend on a LM24 program for the 1996 win 50th anniversary when you can get this via Roush coattails. Or maybe the buzz will amke them think...... In the meantime, sorry Chevy that it didn't work out trying to win a 24 with a bodykit tech plan! More on this on Friday SD.

  • It was an epic race!

  • LOOL @ 3:00 MATT said the funniest thing..

  • @ARCHERLM Yeah, Matt's the Dane Cook of Drive with THAT line.

  • @LeoParente Joke. Matt was on it @D24 with his work, too!

  • epic episode

  • How the F**K is NASCAR more popular than this?!?

  • @JABloch Rednecks....
