There was no evidence of bribery. His family got money from his friends, but it was right before his retirement and there was no abusing power for that money. Getting money from friends is far different from being corrupt.
So why did he apologise on his website on April 19? An innocent man would fight to prove his innocence. Roh knew what he had done. He knew he would go to prison. So he committed suicide to escape punishment and protect his family.
Roh was supported by young people. What kind of example does he set for them? Should we all commit suicide in difficult times?
Roh was a Catholic. What would his priest say about suicide?

I think we can all agree that Kim Dae Jung and Roh Moo Hyun's "Sunshine Policy" failed with the nuclear test in 2006.
Roh was just riding a wave of anti-Americanism. If the US bases had been removed, it would make SK so much easier to invade.

There was no evidence of bribery. His family got money from his friends, but it was right before his retirement and there was no abusing power for that money. Getting money from friends is far different from being corrupt.

So why did he apologise on his website on April 19? An innocent man would fight to prove his innocence. Roh knew what he had done. He knew he would go to prison. So he committed suicide to escape punishment and protect his family.
Roh was supported by young people. What kind of example does he set for them? Should we all commit suicide in difficult times?
Roh was a Catholic. What would his priest say about suicide?

The cause of former President Roh's death must be INVESTIGATED very carefully. Alot of conservative politicians along with the current president Lee Myung-bak have deep hatred and dislike Roh's past policies.
Is it really a suicide???....or a premeditated MURDER?? Was Roh jumped or he was pushed down the mountain by someone else? Former President Roh's body guards and Lee Myung-bak administration should be considered as the possible suspects and investigated agressively.

The only reason North Korea is not rich is because of isolation caused by the imperialist regime of the United States. Kim Jung-Il is a great leader, and Kim Dae-Jung and Roh Moo-Hyun recognised that fact. If Kim Jung-Il has nuclear weapons, it means Korea has nuclear weapons, and Korea will be respected.
Eventually, North Korea and China will teach Japan to appreciate social justice and equality.

1. Roh damaged relations with US & Japan.
2. Roh did not ratify the Free Trade Agreement for Korea's high tech, export-led economy.
3. Roh antagonized business.
4. Roh violated political neutrality in the NA elections.
5. Roh gave SK tax to Kim Jung-Il to make nuclear weapons: "Sunshine Policy"
6. Pre-election investigation of Lee was purely political and a waste of money.
7. Roh took $6M in bribes.

You should know the difference between friend and enemy. If the USA did not protect South Korea in the Korean war, you would be starving or being tortured like people in North Korea.
Roh exploited anti-US sentiment. He wants to destroy good relations with the USA and Japan so that South Korea can be "independent" like North Korea.
But North Korea is the most hated, isolated country on earth.

Let's be objective about this former president. During his presidency, relations with nations such as Japan and the USA were really bad. He failed to ratifiy the FTA, leaving it to his successor. He antagonized business, violated political neutrality in the NA elections, and continued the misguided sunshine policy with NK, to the delight of dictator Kim Jong-Il. Also, the investigation against President Lee shortly before the election was purely political and a waste of money.

My view is like the prosecution's& many other people's view that Roh wasthe core of all the illegal activity that were being exposed all around him in the arrest of his friends& family(reason why Roh was investigated).&also believe that as more evidence mounted against Roh,Roh escaped by suicide to save his face,his family& dirty money...He new very well his death would bring an automatic stop to the investigations.

Well,now his family can live happily in a NY Manhattan Penthouse with dirty millions in bank account & other assets. For Moo Hyun it was a choice between losing everything by getting arrested, or die & save the family & the dirty money he collected..Like others, he just wanted power & wealth.
