Dam i miss my 70 351 cu Cleveland "shacker hood scooped"powered mustang mach 1sold it but glad i never sold my 75 Marshall super lead 2 or my SG !,you have good taste in cars amps and guitars too!.Well the 70 440 cu dodge charger RT i replaced it with was pretty cool too ?its hard holding on to cars in NYC, thank god its easier to find space for guitars and amps.i made a portable amp from scratch that plugged into my cigarette lighter with a couple of inputs that me and some friends jammed with
nice inventive, its good to hear good rock sounds i am glad there are guys that can remind me that there really is no real limitations to the beautifull sounds of rock n roll
Yes purely in terms of their invention but in reaching revered iconic status I would argue '70's. Rock and Metal late '60s but massive in '70's, Mustang late '60's but massively popular in '70's, SG well who does everyone think of? Angus Young '70's prodigy, yes others before him used it, but he is the SG man. Used it then, still uses it now.
what do u use to get amp to work with ur car also if i chane the pots in my epi lp what do u subjest? and how much does one black treble pickup riff bucker cost?
@xx55AC55xx All you need is a power inverter that will plug into the cigarette lighter socket.....it converts 12VDC to 120VAC. As far as the pots in your Epi, if they work, leave them. I charge $130 US for an open coil Riffbucker with black coil bobbins.
@classic005465 I started out with the guitar's volume wide open at the very beginning but throughout the video, I adjust it according to how much gain I need.
imagine if there was like someone in the building.. be like " hey you hear a guitar ? wow someones rocking out in the drive way.. " they go look.. ya nice car to
Riffguy! I'm in Vancouver right now. My band's playing tonight, and then I leave town. If you are in Vancouver, and are close to broadway city hall, my buss is parked till' 3 pm, then we go downtown. Dude, you're a HERO!!! Email me davep1977@gmail.com if you'll meet me to get a photo with you. I'll buy you lunch!
I'd love to see where you have the eq, gain and volume set on that Marshall. Can you remember it, offhand. Do you keep the pickups on your SG wide open, or dialed back a bit? It sounds so good! I have listened to this vid. many times since I first came across it.
@classic005465 From what I can remember the gain was at 10, the master volume 5, bass 10, mid 10, treble 5 and reverb was probably off. I have the volume on the guitar wide open at the beginning, but at 4:20 I backed it off a bit.
I love this upload! Put it in my personal top 5 favorites of all-time, most inspirational Youtube guitar tones. Although you're not standing in front of your wall of Marshalls, I've seen very few people who can make a 15wt amp scream (outside too no less) the way you did here. Rock on Riffguy!
That is one fine looking car and the amp sounds great. I play an SG and i recently stopped using my multi effects pedal with my DSL 401 and just use the amp now. Saying that, have you ever used a power brake, i could really use one as i cant get past 3 on the volume before my neighbours complain but marshall have somehow found it wise to stop making them and the second hand prices are steep.
I'd like to see you using the SG with a modeling amp such as a Roland Cube, or VOX VT type. It doesn't have to be at an airport though........that might be helpful those that own a modeling amp. Can we persuade you?
I'm from the old school where you plug into an amp, set the knobs once (usually to 10) and leave it. If you need a different tone, you just adjust your playing.
I've never liked the idea of modeling amps and doubt I'd ever own one.....but I will make a video, if you send me one!
This is one cool video. I think all guitar players might dream about doing exactly what you do here. Great! By the way, what kind of action is the neck on the SG set at? Do you perfer a small bit of relief in the neck? It seems that your SG's action must be really low to play as quickly as you do here.
The action is not too low and the neck has a bit of relief. This way, the guitar's playability isn't drastically altered by humidity changes. I also have a hard attack, so low action doesn't work for me. I find the factory specs work best.
in my old explorer i wired a 15w crate to run off the battery and had the speakers connected to the aux input of my radio. the people in the back could rock out over the cars speakrs.
