  • Is there a video of her LP for this season or is it lost forever?

  • Michelle Kwan worked so hard to be where she is right now, at the top of the list of favorited athletes. She has placed herself along with greats like Kristi Yamaguchi, Dorothy Hamill, Peggy Fleming and many others. The reason why I put "many others' is that the names of athletes are too numerous to be placed in here.

  • Didn't Irina Sluskaya skate to this at the 2006 Olympics? Imagine if Michelle did compete the those Olys...it would be like Battle of Totentanz! That would be so cool! But if Michelle skated cleanly with this program at the Olympics I think she would've won the SP, but that just my opinion.

  • KWAN HAS BECOME A LEGEND, a hard and bitter slap on the face of the UGLY, CAREER-LESS HAS-BEEN Tara Lipinski, otherwise known on Youtube as getrealandsee, allengslandlawns, cleareyed, i thinkformyself, kwansangsog, woolagirl, and her other TROLL identities. And Kwan became one even without having to win the medal that was GIFTED to the UGLY, CAREER-LESS HAS-BEEN Lipinski. Look who's laughing now? Ha ha ha ha ha!

  • Kwan will NEVER EVER wear the OGM the only medal that matters to anyone. She knows that she was a failure and even with all those other cupcake medals and with all the public's pity, she will always be known as a choking FAILURE. Propped up, handed titles, cheated a great sport and its athletes, and despite all that couldn't cut it! And it's outright sickening she's traveling the world spreading that message today.

  • @allenglandlawns ITA!! I am sickened and disgusted that she is traveling on behalf of our country spreading her crap. It was actually another 'given' title...Kwan deemed herself worthy of it ...and begged for the chance to represent the USA...spread the crap but it was really just politics..hey, throw the girl a bone..why not.....she is so arrogant and she DOES NOT REPRESENT MY VALUES!

  • @getrealandsee Asshole: Kwan did not award herself her wins. Nor did she choose herself to represent the country. If you want to hate someone -- it's obvious you are deranged with rage -- then hate those who gave the wins and chose her to represent the country.

'Course, if you do that, then you have to question their judgment re. bubble-under Lipinski being overscored at the Olympics.

  • @getrealandsee Your values sum up in one word: hypocrite.

  • @allenglandlawns If one doesn't win Nationals, one doesn't go to Worlds, or to the Olympics. So, obviously, Nationals medals matter. And Lipinski won how many Nationals, asshole?

All those JUDGES you smear as being corrupt ALSO gave the few medals Lipinski "won".

Integrity equals responsibility. Why do you bash Kwan for the JUDGING you insist is corrupt? Because your deranging hatred leaves no room for anything moral.

  • @JNagarya We shouldn't bother commenting anymore. They both very well know that they have lost the debate. Had the judges wanted to play "favorite" with Michelle Kwan, she would be a two time Olympic Champion. In 1998, she skated perfectly. Seven triple jumps, incredible artistry. At any other Olympics that would have been the winning performance. But judges played it fair and voted in favor of Tara. Fair judging!

  • @TeamKween2010 I don't believe the judging at the 1998 Olympics was correct; and I believe the judges, after the fact, are kicking themselves. "Fair," then, doesn't exclude error.

  • @JNagarya Well, I bet that you and the really rabid Kwanatics are kicking themselves... can't take it that your Kween was Kreamed fair and square by the REAL champion. Even Frank Carroll said it to Kwan: "You were not robbed. You skated well, but Tara was better."

  • @allenglandlawns Watch that interview again, sir. Michelle never said she was robbed. Frank told Michelle that there are going to be people (journalists/spectators) who will say that "you were robbed." He went onto say "You skated well, but Tara was better". Michelle never thought her silver was a disappointment. She took it in strive. As she said herself, " I didn't lose the gold; I won the silver." Now that is one classy quote! :)

  • @TeamKween2010 Camera on, she's always ready to spout some sappy cliche. And never disappointed? Take a gander on the 98 podium. She was the ONLY one with tears of anger and resentment. And what's with covering up her EARNED silver? Same story in SLC. It's a true honor to stand on an Olympic podium for your country and her face just screams entitlement.

  • @allenglandlawns I watched the medal ceremonies. Yes, Michelle was holding her medal. Just as Tara was holding hers. Skaters are not allowed to touch their medals? Michelle was not even in tears! Now onto SLC. As Sarah was recieving her gold medal, Michelle was CLAPPING. Yes, she was clapping I think you are confusing Michelle with Surya Bonaly at the 1994 World Championships. I think Michelle may have been disappointed, but not angry that she did not win either of the Olympics she competed in!

  • I'm surprised that she chose this music. I'm not sure it suits her. I have come to associate Michelle with more lyrical programs, so perhaps that's why. However, I wish she could have made it to the Olympics so that we could have had Michelle and Irina face off.

  • @anubethc45 HORSE MANURE!

  • Omg..had she actually been at the Olympics it would've been fun to see both her and Irina skate to the same number for the short program.

  • I have NEVER seen her do a better spiral! 2:30

  • Kwan is a very pretty lady, she has the passion of a competitive athlete. She doesn't give up more or less, like other athletes did. Michelle Kwan has a spirit that shows through her no matter how tough her program is.

  • All the arguing is just crazy. Michelle was injured when she did this performance, and she reinjured herself enough to need hip surgery. She just couldn't heal right. Over a decade of practice and championship performances would injure anyone. It finally happened to Michelle. She did win 5 World Championships, and those she didn't win, she mostly came in second. She won 9 National titles, 8 in a row. None given to her - all earned.

I like this program. It was a sign of what was to come.

  • I'm amazed she still pulled off her combo, and those cop spirals knowing the extent of her injury.

I really like this music, and wish we had seen Michelle go toe to totentanz with Irina.

Sarah Hughes saved the sport? Well damn, I guess she saved in one year and left it out to dry the next. Nice girl, decent skater, right place at the right time. That's about it. I wasn't embarrassed by her, except that Fosse number...and that unsexy sexy Shakira thing......

  • @gratefulMKfan Took so long for her to get injured bc she hardly upped the ante. Just stick that big old leg in the air along with that goofy grin and she figures she's a lock for gold. Given most of her titles...omg the 9 nats, 5 worlds, 2 olympic medals crap spouted by the loons who worship her...blatant favoritism just handed them right to her just by showing up for facetime and media attention. But alas...a happy ending to her career...slithering away with an iced groin.

  • @allenglandlawns How about you go onto the ice and skate? Please do share on YouTube. I would love to see... no joke. :)

  • @TeamKween2010 The only "talents" had by "allenglandlawns," et al., are, the dishonest establishment of numerous accounts by means of which to deceive the naive that his ugliness is shared by others than himself; being deranged with unfounded hatred against Michelle Kwan; and attacking Kwan -- against integrity -- as lacking integrity because of the alleged corrupt actions of others over which Kwan has no control.

In short: he is overtly, obviously in severe need of psychiatric treatment.

  • @JNagarya In SLC, same situation. All Michelle had to do was finish second in the long program. If Michelle placed second in the long program than third, these Olympics would have been hers, even with a subpar program. But NOO... the judges decided to place her third in the long anyways. Not favoritism at all. These claims getrealandsee and allenglandlawns are completely false and have no such meaning. End of story.

  • @TeamKween2010 Oh the favoritism was there. Kwan embarrassed herself so bad that Gold was obviously out of the question so the judges awarded her Sasha's Bronze. There's your favoritism. Kwan deserved no higher than 3rd in the short and 4th in the long imo.

  • @allenglandlawns Why not the gold? You always talk about the GOLD MEDAL. Had the judges "favorited" Michelle, they would all place Michelle second in the long program, thus giving her the gold medal. BUT NO, the judges placed Irina's program as the second best of the night. I disagree, and I guess that's my opinion. But I am happy for Sarah. She skated the best program of her life. Well deserved. Though I disagree with who should have finished second in the long though! :)

  • @allenglandlawns If everyone in the sport is as corrupt as you insist -- Michelle Kwan didn't award herself her wins -- then Lipinski was favorited because the judges liked immature girlls with big lips.

Your dishonest attacks on Kwan's integrity negate your implied claim to integrity. Your bottomless hatred not only reveals your self-opinion, but is also immoral.

  • @allenglandlawns But allenglandlawns...wait a minute. As a matter of fact, the winner of the 2006 Olympic Games, Shizuka Arakawa had ONLY FIVE triple jumps, and no triple-triples. So was it really necessary. Many skaters downsized their programs to skate clean rather than taking an automatic one point deduction for a fall. None of the top three ladies in Torino had a triple triple... she did not really need to up the ante. Remember at the 2006 Olympic Games, the winner, Shizuka Arakawa

  • @allenglandlawns (Cont) she had FIVE triple jumps, and no triple-triples. After Mao Asada and Yuna Kim came onto the scene was when the demand for triple-triples was more common. But even now, skaters are downsizing their programs to win events. For example Carolina Kostner.

  • Who cares about 'level 1 or 2 or whatever'. This was a trial run with a new program... I just want to say that skating has NOT been the same since she left, and that joy she brought with her, I don't know if that will ever be matched.. or the love of the fans. Don't you love how she smiles during her spiral.. she knows that the audience just adores that iconic, trademark move. Michelle single handedly raised the level of skating, and we thank her for it.

  • Lets not forget this was the debut of the program. Yes, she wasn't in her usual shape, but it was an interesting program, one that had potential to get better. In retrospect of the 2006 Olympics, she only needed to skate clean to medal...Sasha fell 2x and still medaled as did Irina, and Shizuka downgraded most of her program.

  • your absoulty right

  • Well, Shizuka downgraded her program-because of the very same reason, Sasha fell twice, so in order to win silver, she only needed a clean skate and i don't think Arakawa thought she could beat Slutskaya, But with Slutskaya's fall, Arakawa was the only top 3 lady with a clean skate-so silver turned to gold. Kwan wasn't technically up there with the other girls, and one might wonder that if kwan was around, Shizuka wouldn't have downgraded her program.

  • wasnt her best performance but still amazing

  • The music is kind of different but I like it. I would have loved to have seen her performs this at 2006 nationals...even 2006 Olympics.

  • The only interesting thing that I noticed is that Sasha was quite consistent only in practice and so why couldn't she manage to do well during competition? If she didn't fall during her warm up so why would she fall during her program?

  • This is where we saw the last part of michelle's decline her body couldn't take much more it.

  • You need a side layback to get anything above a level one.

  • Long live Michelle! No other female skater has made me cry at the end of so many performances. Michelle is the Gold-Medalist in my heart! Her heart warms the ice like no other.

  • @ferency98 corny!

  • Sasha isn't boring. I mean it.

  • i prefer kwan to cohan, i love that you can tel that she is enjoying her self and it showing in her program cohan is boring to watch

  • Sasha Cohen is the best skater ever.

  • I like them both! :D

  • sasha cohen isnt consistant..

  • @marudange With the exception, of course, of Michelle Kwan. And Chen Lu. And Irina Slutskaya. And Yuka Sato . . '.

  • This is a very different type of program for her and it is nice to see her trying something new. She looks so happy here despite not feeling 100%. I really wish she had competed in the Olympics. Nobody on the podium skated great so Michelle would have had a shot.

  • Wow i'm kinda impressed that she did sorta make her footwork and spins a bit harder..compared to the ones she did in the past. But still i find it hard to imagine that she could medal in 2010, considering that she has to compete with kim, asada, ando, etc.. and they are technically the best.

  • She never really said anything about medaling in 2010. She is not skating anymore.

  • well it was nice to see her go for higher level spins and footwork in this program. her level 1 spins really slaughtered her at the 05 worlds...too bad we'll never know how bumping up her technical elements a notch would have affected her scores at the Olympics

  • But they were only a tad bit. The layback would have still been a level 1, same with the combo spin. The camel spin would have been a level 2 and same with the stragiht line footwork.

  • I loved this program... I wish we could've seen more of it.

  • When she was little 1994-1996 I couldn't stand Michelle but over the years I became a fan...I really had no idea how many Kwan haters there were before I came to You Tube...I find it interesting that people fault her for following a dream for over a decade...Only Slutskya had the longevity she had and you can't argue that...And let's be honest a healthy Michelle would have placed higher than E. Hughes in 2006 so the USFSA made the right decision.

  • Amen to that!

  • @rfillangi with great success comes the haters. look at yuna kim's videos and the comments on them. michelle has her haters but at least half of the comments are coming from the same person with a ton of accounts who has been stalking her videos for years. YEARS. it's pathetic

  • I agree with you, mkscfan. I don't think she was in shape at this point. Her footwork sequence was neither fluid nor fast and everything seemed rather lazy.

  • Hey, I love this. She skates beautifuly. She really beats Sasha Cohen.

  • Okay, first of all, if you dont like it, then DONT WATCH! If you like Kimmie Meissner, then watch her. I dont watch Kimmie Meissner because I LOVE Michelle Kwan!

  • LOL!!! Kimmie Meissner, really? well Kimmie has said Michelle is her idol, and so is mine. whatever, have you seen Kimmie's marks from 2006 olympics? yes, extremly low, and this season come on, her music selection is horrible, and of course when was the last time she completed a 3/3, 'cuz according to the ISU in almost every singles competition she has been in, her 3/3s have been dowgraded

  • Yeah... Mensioning that Kimmie doesn't have emotions when she skates... Michelle is better. Even if she doesn't do a triple axel or something like that, she has EMOTIONS!!! WAYYY BETTERRR!!!

  • michelle is not better.

    michelle is the best.

  • dimpledskater, calm down...save ur energy alright? ithinkofmyself always doesn't like MK even MK skate with the good programs, she is just never like MK all the way and all the time, so you dont have to say too much to her. Cheers up!

  • Yes, I also think that she wasn't very wel lin shape for this program, but I still loved it. She beats sasha cohen anytime.

  • I don't really like Michelle but with this performance I understand that some many people love her! The smile during the spiral tells it all.

  • ithink for myself think this, So if you hate Michelle then don't watch her and let others who look up to her admire her . Also learn to respectfully criticize from people who dislike her , their opinions are actually educated and supported by facts, I guess what I want to say is, BACK UP WHAT YOU SAY! , SO YOU SAY SHE IS SELFISH, WELL DID YOU MEET HER? ARE YOU HER PERSONAL TRAINER???? ARE YOU A FIGURE SKATER, DID YOU TRAIN WITH HER?

  • You go, dimpledskater!!!!!!!!!! Whoooooo!!!!!!

  • ithinkfor myself, try thinking this unless you yourself are a skater who falls and works her ass of everyday practicing and faces the intense pressure of being scrutinized by everyone, then you shouldn't diss anyone. Like I said allow others to also think for themselves because people who watch skating videos maybe fans of the sport and maybe offended by what you say.

  • Ithinkformyself, does thinking only reserved for you coz it's sounds to me that you are being narrow-minded and only allowing yourself to think instead of allowing other people to think for themselves. Please have some respect AND BEFORE YOU FLAME ME OR ANY ONE ELSE WHO LIKES MICHELLE OR ANY OTHER SKATER, DON'T DISGRACE AND DISRESPECT FIGURE SKATING.

  • She is good and a lovely skater but now days that wouldn't have placed.

  • that's the different way we see a person or thing when we read the same material. In Brennan eyes MK is a role model. In my eyes MK is perfect more than many of us. In ithinkformyself eyes MK is what?

  • ithinkformyself cited Christine Brennan(a sports journalist) partial comments to criticise michelle before. how many her articles did u read? I read Brennan's more than 26 artilces that mentioned michelle and found only 2 articles were negative so far. it seems ur selective reading.

  • I google michelle on interenet and read articles one by one not selected.I read 165 articles about michelle so far(not include books) and I found more than 80% articles mentioned michelle were positive. My GOD,as a human being, michelle is perfect. is Jesus 100% believed in the world? I believe in Jesus.

  • what the petition policy made for and for whom?was Miichelle the only athlete who petitioned? was she the only athlete who was approved? when u use word"finagle", ur insulting all athletes who petitioned or will petition under the policy.

  • in GOD eyes no human being is perfect. I said michelle was perfect based on my none selected reading. more than 80% articles mentioned her were positive. compared with others, she's perfect.

  • rwz7, stop being so biased and face the facts: kwan would never win under the new judging system, she's 26, and her era is over. kwan is no longer the star skater she once was, it's time to move on. also, just because you love kwan doesn't mean it's okay to insult those who did win the OG and say that lipinski and hughes only won because of luck-- they won through hard work and constant training.

  • being a kwan fan doesn't excuse your disgraceful and low class behavior. if you want to cheer for a chinese skater, look to the new generation of skaters, like 13 year old caroline zhang (from irvine, calif.). michelle kwan was great, and no doubt the star of the past decade. but it's time to move on and stop acting so immature and biased.

  • I don't know whether i'm qualified to be called a kwan fan cuz I watched michelle's programs on youtube 3 months age and then learnt who she is. I don't know what disgraceful and low class behavior I showed here.if ur so kind pls point it out. BTW, michelle is chinese-american. I also watched Ando and Mao's programs in 2007 worlds.they are great skaters, but I like michelle's artistry more.If u think people sticking to what they like is immature and biased, then move on your mature.

  • huigomi,if u read the whole comments here, u'll see I've never said tara, sarah were lucky to get OG. I always said they deserved it due to their hard working. i respect every althlete and never insult any skaters here.I post comments just because someone insist on insulting michelle, so I wrote about who michell is and what she did based on official website or books and telling the true.

  • huigomi,I don't know much skating technique, but some posters said that if COP was used 10 years ago, michelle wouldn't have been so successful.IMO,it's a naive imagination. I believe michelle would still have been one of the top skaters when she's 16 due to her hard working and talent. now michelle is 26 when COP is used, I don't know whether she'll win. but the words"never win" is so immature or biased?

  • rwz7, "never win" isn't immature or biased, it's based on the fact that in the past two years she has suffered from innumerable injuries, weight gain, and poor techniques (especially with jumps). also, all the newcomers and younger generation skaters have been trained with the new judging system in mind.

  • as for the old skaters, even slutskaya, who's much more athletic than kwan, and cohen, who's more artistic than kwan, can't win the OG. that's why i said kwan would never win, because it's incredibly difficult to get it.

  • huigomi,I like Irina and Sasha too, and I respect your opinion because you did't insult or slander other skaters like some other posters did. but literally "incredibly difficult" doesn't equal "never". that's why people create the words"hope" and "magic". 2006 olympics Shizuka won is a good sample. one day when MK officially announces that she retires, u could say that again.

  • What if Michelle's coach is using old skating techniques? It doent matter as long as she is good at it, she's good. It doesnt matter if the coach is good or better as long as there is a coach!

  • michelle kwan is the greatest skater in us history

so what! sarah hughes is just a slut because her luck

is gonna run out real soon don't like it suck it!

  • Saved the sport? What has Sarah Hughes done for figure skating since her Oly win. Not a thing. She gained weight, stopped training and embarassed the US at Worlds, then quit the sport. Now we have her sister who does even worse. Sarah always had technique problems which held her back. Under COP, Sarah would lose points for edge calls and under-rotation on all her lutz and flip jumps. Only her edge jumps were okay. Sarah deserved to win LP that night. She had the skate of her life, butt.

  • @gratefulMKfan kwan was also overweight and not at all trained!

  • @egodiegoego . Kwan is not overweight. At least, get your eyes checked for glaucoma!

  • @waddleduckie1 you go girl! another "objective" fan of kwan!

  • @gratefulMKfan Yep, Sarah saved the sport from the corruption and controversy that was spreading through the SLC competitions and proved that it was the performance alone that matters. Not the name, not the reputation but the merit alone. She and her sister never enjoyed the luxury of being worshipped by audiences like Michelle was and they earned their wins, even though Emily's dream was trashed by Kwan in 2006.

  • @allenglandlawns Why are you such a split personality--one minute praising Kwan and the next minute bashing her, like the troll who stalks her? Sarah and especially, Emily, never gave audiences any reason to worship them. Sarah's only other international (or national) gold medal was at Skate Canada, a Grand Prix qualifying event. I don't think Emily ever won a major gold medal.

  • @idolfan9495 Even though my comments appear biased against Kwan, I do like to give credit to her where it's due. I think she definitely deserved 98, 04 nats, 00 worlds, and her Olympic silver to name a few of her credible wins. It's just that she truly did destroy the sport's credibility. Yeah she kept viewer and media interest, but so did Harding. Once Kwan left the sport like it was trash, public interest left too. True champions leave the sport for the better, not worse imo

  • @idolfan9495 And so what if Sarah or Emily never won medals or deserved worship? They competed honestly and never used their reputation to their advantage to earn whatever they earned. That is true sportsmanship even if it remains unrecognized. I really did 'worship' Kwan about a year ago (you can probably see those comments at Kwan's 99 nationals free skate video). I just thought long and hard about it and changed my views in the last couple months. =)

  • @allenglandlawns Emily Hughes would not have been able to go to the Olympics regardless of what Michelle did if Michelle had not guaranteed 3 spots for the US ladies by her placement at 2005 Worlds. Sasha Cohen was second but Jenny Kirk was 17th! That means two spots unless the US had someone who could place higher than 12th--doubtful. Two spots means Emily, the bronze medalist, couldn't have gone.

  • @idolfan9495 Those spots that were earned was a team effort. Kwan did NOT save that spot for herself. It just guaranteed that 3 women would be sent next year. Nikodinov placed an admirable 5th at 2001 worlds and was left off the next year's Olympic team. Asada was was a part in earning 3 spots for japan, but the japanese federation would have left her off the olympic team if she didn't skate at qualifiers. Just bc Kwan helped earn 3 olympic spots, she still had to compete to earn it. Thats sport

  • @allenglandlawns Well, duh. The point is that that Michelle secured three spots. Without her high placement, Emily would have been left off the team regardless of whether Michelle petitioned. By the way, it is obvious that you are the same person as getrealandsee, etc., so I will not be responding to you anymore.

  • @idolfan9495 Lol what's obvious? I'm actually not getreal, but if it makes you feel better than OK! I'll just continue posting my opinion as you defenders try to cover up our tracks =) And Kwan is a loser who needs pity and desperate protection from her defenders. I don't care if she secured 3 spots or not. That doesn't entitle her to a free pass to Torino. She CHEATED her way there (emily EARNED it) and will always be known as an olympic LOSER. Goodbye =)

  • @allenglandlawns We can't hear you. You're drowned out by the countless spontaneous standing ovations given Michelle Kwan, even at her practice sessions.

    So goodbye, loser.

  • THE GREATEST SKATER IS NOT THE SKATER THAT WINS THE OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL. I am not trying to downgrade those who wins an Olympic Gold; however, I don't think a Gold Medal can judge is a skater has been the greatest skater ever. For example, Zhen and Zhao retired this year, and they did not earn a Olympic Gold, so did Janet, Irina, etc. This is all due to the fact that skating is so OBJECTIVE and POLITICAL!!!!!! Sometimes it's just LUCK = Sarah Huges

  • well said hellomathkiki, totally agree with you. michelle is one of the greatest skaters.

  • Well, do you agree with the filthy comments made

about Sarah because she beat Michelle? How come

Kwanatics are so crazed and vicious? Does she really

need that much defending..after all, she has lots of

    pens:)
