I feel really bad for the suckers who think that the world really is coming to an end. If we, with our advanced technology, can't predict the future, what makes people think the Mayans could?

Plus, the mayans believed 2012 would begin a new era of peace and enlightenment, not the end of days, and the Mayans even recorded dates far beyond 2012, so it has no bareing what-so-ever.
