Ok bag, I don't think it will make any difference to what I say as it seems you don't have much life experience. Anyway, just for fun... your first two statements are questions which you use to justify a third proposal, that I am not able to make a rational observation. Actualy, I won't bother with explaining further, but I do wonder if you will see the humor in the fact you are doing exactly what you claim is not worth trying.
@bagasolmb@bagasolmb I was informed that only one reply had been made, not two. I now see you had made two comments.
As for the "longer" comment: You provide not one example from the argument in question and have therefore made no valid point at all. The "plain facts" are you have expressed only an opinion and this simply reinforces my ealier comment. I just don't have the time to explain to you how to debate, but I am wondering if you are also a legitimate anarchist like ManilaRyceTLM?
@OutsideTheEdge (2 of 2) the problem with your argument about some people's natural inclinations to want to lead and rule is that they are actually the people that thrive in the current oligarchy that we live under today. communism and democracy are two heads of the same coin. the only difference is that in democracy, corporations own humans, and in communism, the state owns all humans. but it can be argued that corporations and states are one and the same, anyway.
@OutsideTheEdge no, i don't take offense to anything haha. i'm always down for having a discussion though. there are several definitions that can be used to define 'anarchy,' but the one i like to use is 'a theory that regards the absense of all direct or coercive government as a political ideal and that proposes the cooperative and voluntary association of individuals and groups as the principal mode of organized society.'
@OutsideTheEdge Fighting St Anger but winning lol, im about to upload a video, you will probly like it, glad to meet you in this storm and come out comrads. Peace ;)
@OutsideTheEdge anarchism is not how it is stereotypically discribed - lawless, chaotic, brutal.... it may not be the 'solution' to injustice, but it does not propagate injustice such as conservatism, liberalism, mixed or free market economies, which are easily corruptable. the difference between anarchism and these other societies is that anarchy abides by certain natural laws that are instilled upon us as humans, while society depends on statutes and regulations created by man to control man.
@3rdeyeofthestorm Yes, I can agree with you on these points. However, I say anarchy is not a solution because it negates the natural inclinations of different types of individuals, such as those that wish to be leaders and rulers. I understand there is much more involved but I maintain that anarchy will in itself not work simply due to peoples natural tendencies. Same reason communism dosn't work. Democracy is also just a "polished" form of cheating. I hope you were not offened by the remarks :)
Let's also not forget that while the bourgeoisie and their apologists fear an uprising due to the verdict, it is only BECAUSE of the uprisings in Oakland that Mehserle is on trial in the first place.
I am a Sociology student and this past semester I took a criminology course and I learned first hand how racial stereotypes are so ingrained in the minds of many people even the people in those careers where they are made to take "Transcultural Courses"....to prevent racially charged events like this.
Thank you brotha for putting this out. As someone who sat in the courtroom and reported on the trial almost daily, I am clear it was deliberate and the 'taser story' was a lie. I too want our folks in Oakland to be safe. Thanks for adding your voice in this manner!
You yourself said there was no weapons seen at the time, so why would the cop shoot Grant. You think the cop is so stupid to commit cold blooded murder in front of dozens of witnesses? The cop obviously thought he was tazing Grant. This is clear in the video evidence and you can't live with that due to racial issues in your mind. What happened was avoidable and now the cop is being held to account, but people like you are using this for other motives besides justice.
Officer Mehserle told fellow officers after the shooting that he thought Oscar was armed and that's why he shot him. His story then changed to a case of mistaken identity in which he thought his gun was his taser. There is also a photo from Grant's phone moments before he was shot showing Mehserle with an unholstered taser - meaning he did have it out but put in back in favor of his gun. Also, the gun is almost 3 times heavier with safety mechanisms in place which were overcome.
@ManilaRyceTLM Yes I agree with you, it is possible that the cop did use his pistol knowingly due to a mistaken idea of Grant having a gun. That is unlawful killing and he should be charged acordingly. You argument about the tazer, that was put away much before the gun was drawn so your argument "in favor of" does not exist. I do not for a second believe this was first degree murder or that the cop wanted to kill Grant, however, it is true he may have shot without being sure of the situation.
@OutsideTheEdge So when analyzing the facts, it seems like the one making wild accusations due to personal motives and "racial issues" is actually you in assuming Bambu is racist and manipulative for demanding justice rather than begging for it. Check yourself.
@ManilaRyceTLM Now on this point, come on get real. I have not made a "wild accusation". I accuse his motives for "justice" of being racist yes, due to his own words. Maybe you should listen again to what he says. "Bambu" himself says quote: "to one of our brothers up in..." etc.. And he just goes on from there. Do you really believe that if it a white guy had been shot that Bambu would be out rallying the people? Come on, be honest, this is about race in his eyes. Check yourself.
@OutsideTheEdge Calling someone your brother is racist? Didn't get that memo. I guess shooting someone in the back is just a mistake but calling someone your brother is unforgivable. Also, I'm half white and personally know Bambu and what motivates his work. You did make a wild accusation based on nothing more than your own insecurities about race. If hearing a person of color address race makes him a racist to you, even when it's significant to the case, that says something about you, not him.
@OutsideTheEdge PS: I don't think you know what anarchy means. Anarchy is a legitimate political philosophy seeking a solution to injustice in all human relations. If you mean "chaos" it's pretty clear that the entire point of this video is for people to act intelligently and not be blindly reactionary without a point. You'd do well to take some of that advice yourself.
@ManilaRyceTLM Well, it seems you can not discern between fact or fiction. At least the anarchy comment got you spouting some bullshit, which is always funny to read from self- righteous people. The logic of your arguments is so weak that it is obvious you still need to grow up. It is tempting to point out just how silly your logic is point by point, but it's clear it won't make a difference. Still, love the "legitimate" anarchy statement. Memo: Rock on "brother" and thanks for the laugh. :)
Was there not enough information contained within whatever you have read to make an opinion that you can comment with? Maybe you just wanted to explain "one thing", an obvious truth to anyone other than a politician? Are there more "things" you wanted to express but possibly forgot to include? I would also ask you to also remember that your point in statement equally does not exclude any truth that may be in my original point.
@OutsideTheEdge That was all rhetoric. It's obvious throughout that whole argument with ManilaRyceTLM, you lost, and you had to resort to trying to point out (please emphasize the word trying) any flaws in his arguments (which there wasn't) in order to make some sort of comeback. You had to make silly assumptions and a hypothetical scenario in order to to try to argue back to plain fact. You used a lot of opinion and deductive reasoning, which is always beaten by plain fact.
@OutsideTheEdge And for one thing, are you Bambu himself? Are you the officer who shot Oscar Grant? No. So how would you even try to assume these things if you weren't them?
@bertrandshoberg Yes, I think it is exactly what he deserved and a fair verdict given the evidence. It was not an emotional or political conviction but just based on the facts, which I am happy to see.
