like Picasso said in one of his famous quotes at the beginning of the video, we all have our inner child of course. and like you said school and teachers interfere with our creativity/individuality. or suck all of the creativity out of us and fill it with work.
I enjoy your videos cause I like your energy. I started painting a seriously about a year ago. I often thought of my paintings as "juvenile" so I haven't filmed any of it yet. After today, I will video tape some of my paintings for the world to see, and maybe someone will enjoy them. Thanks for the encouraging video and your beautiful abstract paintings! TFS
@skyetaylorgalleries well, a child would simply look at those table legs and say they are all the same size (and say to you, "of course they are silly person", lol).... once you are taught how to draw, then you learn perception, and you draw them the "right" way...takes a long time to unlearn and simplify things as a child does... I'm agreeing with what you say here! < ; I'm typing with paint on my fingers and saying, "wow! This is HARD for me to paint abstract!!" I'm looking at you with hope!
Your passion is intoxicating, in a good way! LOL (one straight man to another). I enjoy your insight, I find you very interesting so keep the vids comin!
I love the way you paint what you want to do. I have also painted what I wanted to paint. I thought there was something wrong with me because I didnt have a "style". Like you my pictures are all different. Sometimes I dont understand my own work. I kind of know why I started them but later they seem to take on a life of their own. It is so refreshing to hear someone say the problem is intrusion from others. I felt that from an early age. Love your work. x
@Cardywhite111 Thank you so much for your kind words and watching my video. Art takes on a life of it's own. Please your self first. Try everything. I recently painted a Peacock. The feeling of fulfillment reached a new high. I came up with the idea remembering my mom painting a mod version in the early 60's on our front room wall.
I'm renewed with a new excitement. Good luck with you work and Blessings to you.
great video Skye! I think Picasso said it takes a few years to paint like a master but takes a lifetime to paint like a child. I totally agree about the creative process being pure and in touch with the inner child. I feel exactly the same way.
Wonderful advice. Thank you. :)
