  • The Straits use an open G tuning 1=D, 5=G, 6=D with capo on the 3rd fret but yours sounds almost identical, awesome! Have you noticed any lower notes that the straits might play on the 3rd fret capo that your version might not have, I can't hear much difference but you might know if something doesn't feel or sound right. I want to learn this song perfectly and just wondered if all the Album version can be played with this setup opposed to the open G tuning third fret capo?

  • @cancerouschrist because it is

  • Great tutorial but I'd like to have seen a slower look at the F shape picking.

I actually found you looking for a Yamaha Pacifica - any chance of posting the demo that you did on there?

  • @merdan08 Hey mate, glad to hear you found me! I don't think that was me doing a demo on a Yamaha Pacifica though. I've never actually played one so might be a bit hard for me to do a tutorial on it ;) All the best.

  • I have to say this version is good, I've only been playing since June 2011 and I must have watched this video a hundred times to try and master it. Getting there!! Great tutorial, I like the fact you speak clearly, there's nothing more annoying than a tutor stuttering when they're trying to teach!! Do you have a tutorial for 'money for nothin'?

  • @BigRockGuitar Thank you for the response. I was just checking. Please keep up the good work; it has been extremely helpful.

  • This is an excellent lesson video, many thanks and very well done !!!

  • great version man, thanks for posting, what strings to you pick on the g/b in the intro, i didnt quite get it..... thanks

  • @cgalletly90 Hey there, on the G/B I'm playing 5&2 together then 4 then 3. There's a tab at my website in the description if you are interested. Thanks for watching!

  • hey man, whats the go with the fingerpicking?? wiked tutorial otherwise bro

  • great tutorial buddy - learnt it on the first viewing :D nice!

  • Cool variation, but the original version is in open G tuning- DGDGBD, capo'd on the 2nd fret.

  • @solszew Thanks man. At 1:30 I did actually say this is not the way he plays it but a simpler version without the open tuning.

  • @BigRockGuitar - Sorry, I missed that. No criticism implied, this version is great!

  • @solszew All good man ;) Thanks for the feedback!

  • cool.. good job!!!

  • excellent lesson dude, just my picking thats letting me down, i'll get there eventually though... i hope!

  • wow! are you a teacher? if you aren't think about it :D! keep up the good work :D
