people are fixated on getting rich at no costs when in reality your only here mere years why not just be happy with what you do have rather than what you dont have.
Knopfler and Newman must have had an ugly dispute, or their agents/ labels did, 'cause this is the FIRST ever I have seen it anywhere on You Tube. Sux it'll probly get taken down. Asshats.
@aquasparky@aquasparky They did take this video down for a time. I have a very convincing and appropriate argument for Fair Use which I have discussed with legal counsel over this. This song can still be purchased, for those who wish to listen to it without all the coins buzzing past the screen, at Amazon, where I purchased the track for just a buck. But if you choose to enjoy the coin and money photos, please do. Ancient Coins are a great way to learn about all of our's shared history.
@rockermanmatt Not by today's standards! Although I`m a Stan Ridgway fan (he was in a band called Wall of Voodoo) and he had singles like I wanna be a boss, Big dumb town, Drive she said, and Calling out to Carol. He's another underrated singer, song-writer.
@rockermanmatt Strike me dead you are absolutely correct! Appreciate that. Looks like when I got that info in my brain must have got confused with the fact that Mark co-produced it, oh well. Randy only made top 90 here in Oz! Shame about that.
Gee that`s a nice coin collection you have there! I think Mark Knopfler wrote the song. I heard this in about 1988 and nothing's changed in terms of the sentiment! Underrated song and tragically never played these days. -daz in oz
@TheArtofWalking Thank you for taking the time and effort to post a comment, my friend. I thought the coins were a perfect venue in which to showcase this wonderful song for my friends to see and hear. The history and the art contained on those tiny silver, copper and gold discs is amazing.

@Brosia I think it was 1988. I vaguely remember the video--The old guy with a young blonde wife and a few pools.

Great song! And even more true today than when it was written, what? 20 years ago?

Really good tune by a great singer/songwriter, plus some cool guitar work by Mark Knopfler

@mimbrenos Thank you for taking the time to comment. I did not know that was Mark Knopfler on there. Pretty classic riffs.
