i am planning on doing Kooks long tube headers 1 5/8, with there high flow cats and h pipe with slp loud mouths. has anyone herd this setup or have a idea if its good?
Kooks are some of the best headers available for the S197's. I think they only make an X pipe, but that's nothing a muffler shop can't take care of. I bet they would sound mean with s H pipe and LM's.
1 5/8 is better if you don't have any significant engine work done too. I have 1 3/4 headers and I think I'm leaving a bit of torque on the table. :(
yeah i didnt know either untill i saw it on there website, i think it just came out. i am planning on alot of engine mods, like steeda airintake, pullies, charge motion plates, stage 2 cam, stage 3 heads, and this C and L intake manifold that is suppose to come out this winter. so i should go with the 1 3/4 headers then because i am gonna to evrything right away expect for the cam and heads.
Yeah, it won't be the end of the world if you go with the 1 3/4" headers, especially if you are going to be pushing more air with those heads/cam. That's a good mod plan you have there. That intake manifold will work a lot better with ported heads. If I remember correctly, you won't need delete plates if you get that manifold; they are built into it already.
That would be totally up to you. An H will give it a deeper tone while an X will make it a bit more raspy. I have another sound clip where I have Violators and an H. They are just a notch quieter than the LM's.
How do u think a FULL SLP exhaust would compare to the one in this video? (slp LT headers, slp catted x-pipe with high flow cats, and slp LM's. Also K&N Air charger intake) P.S How much HP and Torque is the car running in this video?
It would be just as loud if not louder. It's likely that you wouldn't be able to run the SLP cats because they hang so far below the frame rails and will hit constantly, damaging the cats and possibly causing some serious damage if they clog the exhaust path.
It was 4 months between shooting this and getting it on a dyno, but I didn't do any significant mods in that time period, so I'd just go with what I dynoed and that was 298hp/321tq on a Dynojet dyno.
Interesting, I may go with the slp 350hp performance pack minus the air intake it comes with, ill swap that for the K&N. Plus it comes with the diablo tuner. I assume those figures are at the rear wheels?
I doubt it. You aren't going to make 350rwhp without some cams and/or head work or nitrous. The most you'd be looking at with every bolt-on, stock gearing and a manual tranny would probably be 320ish, maybe, MAYBE 330ish, but that's severely pushing it and that might be too lean of a tune as well.
With that package, I'd say expect to be around 300rwhp, give or take, depending on tranny and gearing.
wow ya'll really tore me up with this one, i feel my worth as a human being and automobile consumer is diminished... but on second thought 99% of sportscar owners agree with me.
Agree with what moron? You haven't said anything of any substance. You have anything to support your claims other than the vast amount of incorrect and misleading information that is clogging your tiny brain?
WOW...u have an manual? if so post some videos of what it ran and how consistent it is!..and we havent dumped alot of cash into that car, so if u dont know dont say that. Also by the way stupid there is NO i repeat NO lag..so once again learn some stuff before u post comments..i got my money on a automatic over a 5speed any day! By the way all the car has is exhaust (xpip, mac mufflers), torqueconverter, gears and a 100shotzex nitrous...so well under $2000 in the car,11.40s on spary,12.30s motor
LOL @ damnyouzabitch...no one said the car was stock you retard i said the transmission was! Also the automatics run as fast if not FASTER then the 5speeds and are way more consitant..so go read up on some stuff before u post comments on peoples videos.
in other words you dumped alot of cash into an auto... great job. autos can be fast but no way in hell can they be faster than manuals because there is always a lag time as the power goes through the converter fluid in the slushbox, of course this assumes the shifting is spot on.
The new mustang have the best automatic trans they have ever put in one..u can adjust everthing in the trans with a hand held tuner (sct,diablo,ect)...my sisters car went 11.40s at 117 on the stock transmission!
nothing if you enjoy it, but be prepared to take shit from mean guys like me. but for the record, torque converters are great but there is no substitute for a fully controllable clutch (manual)
wow, nice man

if i was to get lm's would i want a off road x or h?

IMO, LM's + H = best S197 exhaust I've heard.

Lol dude that setup is amazing. Sounds incredible! I need that setup! Can you break it down for me exactly? Any other mods in this video?
shoeboxx 3 years ago
Really appreciate the comments. It's all bolt-ons. Dynatech LT's, catted X, SLP LM headers, UDP's, CMDP's, JLT II CAI, Bamachips 91 race tune.
Like I posted earlier, this setup is freaking LOUD. Even at idle, it can get attention if left in the wrong place.
bigwilly43729 3 years ago
and yea switch back to that exhaust, whatever u have its perfect
Evolancer276 3 years ago
I wish I could. It was just too loud. At idle, I couldn't even order food at a drive-thru.
bigwilly43729 3 years ago
lol oh man thats sick lol, but not pratical
Evolancer276 3 years ago
lol that wasn't fooring it, omg, i have a 01' V6 i think i have to upgrade lol
Evolancer276 3 years ago
wow that was a pretty fast take off
Evolancer276 3 years ago
Appreciate it. Would have been better if I had the TCS off and had floored it.
It's funny. Everyone loves this clip and I don't have this exhaust anymore. Maybe I should switch back?

r those 20" rims

Yes. 20x9, 255/35 in the front and 20x10 275/35 in the back.

Do you have your's lowered? It'll look like a truck if you don't lower it with 20's.

nice stang man and nice take off keep going!
vr6golf3 3 years ago
I will be getting SLP axle backs soon and post a video afterwards. Your setup would be too loud in mine since I have a vert.
damnyouzabitch 3 years ago
Wait, you went through all of that and you actually have a Stang? WTF?
It's still going to be pretty loud even without the headers, but I think you'll enjoy it.
bigwilly43729 3 years ago
went through what? you are a funny little clutch-less driver.
damnyouzabitch 3 years ago
You are a wild dude man. I'll still take my "clutch delete" option over a stick for racing purposes.
bigwilly43729 3 years ago
yo man. i got slp axlebacks and put up a video of a hard launch. check it out
damnyouzabitch 3 years ago
I agree with u bigwilly, he should line them up, if he even has a car?!
matikus347 3 years ago
BOOOORING its a automatic not bad tho but i prefer a manual u have full control of the vehichle
RZRonTDU 3 years ago
Whatever. Not sure why people need a manual transmission to validate themselves.

too bad its auto

Too bad you are an idiot. Line them up and then tell me that.
Who's the bitch now?
bigwilly43729 3 years ago
sounded like auto at first, "smart guy"
what am i supposed to line up again?
damnyouzabitch 3 years ago
It sounded like an auto because it IS an AUTO.
If you need to ask about what to line up, you don't really need to comment on someone's car.
bigwilly43729 3 years ago
well then, that brings me back to my original point: too bad it's auto.
btw that that girl who says "oookkaaayyy" sounds really hot

Please explain what is sooooo bad about an auto? I'd love to hear your educated explanation.
