  • split a garbage bag at the seams. black ones work the best

  • humidity collectors like used in star wars and dune will keep you alive and if setup right will work continuously.

  • Good tips home made no need for a machine just dig a bunch holes and cover them nice.

  • It's always surprised me that this principle wasn't used by sailors back in the old days. Wouldn't be hard to use an inverted glass dome to collect water on a ship.

  • I admire your dedication - I'd boil that stuff before I'd drink it!

  • pretty neat lil tid bit there fred!

  • @lskw1 Thank you

  • Get the book "How to get out of the rat race and live on $10 a month" It is big and gray one of the best survival books out there.

  • @Xxoo0o0o0ooxX That sounds like a great book!!! I will keep an eye out for it.

  • hi fred bet your allright.very intresting

  • cool vid i like how your vids are not the same stuff over and over keep up the good work

  • I saw this on some kids show when i was little

  • @RebelliousPatriot Same. Always wanted to try.

  • I have heard that you should put some vegetation into the hole around the cup as water will come out of the leaves and such and add to the water content. Also, it is recommended to build many of these at one time so that you can actually produce enough water to sustain yourself.

  • ★★★★★

  • Very cool expirement, thanks for sharing. We all need to try things and see if it really works. It did fine for an expirement. Take care my friend and have a great day. The dollar store plastic painting tarps might work well, for a buck??

  • What about a 4x4 foot piece of heavy plastic.....folded up it would fit into a big out bag?

  • You need to pee in the hole and then its a urine still.

  • awsome video friend!!!! thats incredible!

  • put some plant cuttings in there and you'll get more water.

  • ha awesome the painters plastic works good

  • How much did you sweat digging that hole, again?

I'd say more than the water content of that cup..

  • Great experiment, Fred.

  • @TheHomeDefender Thank you

  • You gotta put your back into it when digging a hole : )

  • @biguy525 I did most of the digging off camera so not to embarrass myself in front of everyone :)

  • i just turn on the faucet!

  • @Lookinformemarbles I forgot about that!!! :)

  • @Lookinformemarbles Really was a kool video though!

  • not sure if you heard of him but Lofty Wiseman is one of the best, hes on youtube also

  • @12x I will check him out!

  • Thats pretty cool fred! I think the million dollar question is- in my pack i have a poncho and solar blanket already. I wonder if either 1 of those would work.........

  • @MrAlwaysinterested Sounds like a good video :)

  • Thats pretty cool fred!

  • @MrAlwaysinterested Thank you

  • yea where I'am at if I dug that hole and came back in 5-6 hrs the hole would be full of water LOL

  • @Dambo96 lol, too funny!

  • Perhaps it may be better to use a large black garbage bag, as the black absorbs more heat, I think I will try to see, outstanding videos by the way, thanks for the effort

  • @collapseprep101 I'm not sure, most of what I read says to use clear plastic. It could be a good experiment to try both and compare.

  • but frank you and i both know they do no good in the book shelf untill it gets into our heads.

  • @derekgrebner87 That is why I want to try some of these things, doing helps us remember and learn better.

  • Nice vid man, very useful information!

  • @sirmasterpimp Thank you

  • More sag in the plastic is better. In the desert where the ground had little moisture, you can urinate into the hole to provide your own moisture, after evaporation the water should be clean.

  • @bobcat224 In the desert, you can't remember your name, cause there ain't no one for to give you no name :)

  • @ArtisanTony Cool song!!! :)

  • @bobcat224 Very good comment!

  • Very cool...thanks for sharing!

  • @DocTacDad Thank you too my friend

  • Nice experiment :) Read Euell Gibbons books, they'll tell ya where to get your veggies :)

  • @MyHollowpoint I'll look for that book, thank you for the tip

  • wow... thats some dry soil... nice video though, i watch all of them, since i love doing computer stuff and survival stuff :)
