I wish you people wouldn't put words in my mouth. I never said it's wrong to feed a pinky as an occasional treat if it's the right size for the animal to swallow, but the salamander in this video is clearly having a very time swallowing it, he even rubs his head on the ground like he's in distress. I've had a tiger sal for four years. I raised him from the time he was a larva, I've never fed him a pinky because it's not really ever needed, and he's perfectly healthy.

I fed a rat tail to my tiger salamander. my ball python broke the frozen rat open so i fed it to my Savannah monitor. The tail fell off minus any bones in it(slid out) so i thought my salamander would enjoy it. Gross but i didn't want to waste another rat. i feed my snake live now and do not have a problem with the wasting of frozen rodents any more.

You cage the salamander inside a diminutive box without bedding or plants where it can hide and you jerk off while another animal is eaten (which is natural, but it's not natural to film this and watch it curiously).
