in fact, the US arm of chrysler ordered an E38 so they could back engineer it, they also requested a GLX sedan, because these cars handled much, much better than the american cars did, and with smaller engines. the 72 VH series was all australian design, and in its first year at bathurst, beat every other car in its class. a 265 six cylinder will outrun a GTHO 351 to 100kmh. having owned a couple of these 6 cyl cars, i can safely say dont underestimate them.

318 fireball was never a good engine. I always had problems with them, but the 340 in a VH Charger like I use to have was awesome. Never missed a beat. Even the cops in South Australia use to use them for their highway patrol cars and to great effect.
