Soul train Line: thumbs down. The ladies look sort of skank dancing to Rick James "Lucy (her name is Lucy cause she so loose!)". Mark of the degenerate in the line!
Can someone please tell me why does soul train always let the singer lip sync? I love this performances by New Edition but them lip syncing it make the performer look bad.
sorry, im the biggest new edition fan. they are the wallpaper on my phonne, i have ALL the records/cds, am a VIP member of the new edition fan club, and i know all of their tour dates. i also know when one of them is starring in a musical this year!!!!! NE'S BIGGEST FAN....EVA!!!! I DNT PLAY WHEN IT COMES TO MY NE!
There is no bigger New Edition fan than me! I am the same age as these guys so in a sense, I grew up with them. I saw this same performance on Soul Train. After the J 5 this is the best and original "boy band!" "N Sync", "Back Street Boys", and "New Kids" tried to imitate but could never duplicate. These artificial bands fizzeled out but the "real deals" are still kickin booty even though these "copy bands received way more exposure. These other groups were spinoffs of New Edition anyway!
@bhbaddest hold up now...he may not be able to rap all that great but soulja boy can dance his ass off when he wants to. i like this era, but i mean truth is truth
when NEW EDITION was out other groups had 2 step there game up big x 2 bad they had such shitty managers they never got the propper exposure they deserved they killed wack st boys/nsync all those guys bit off of the kings besides the JACKSON 5 thats another story
@dapdaddy10 Yeah, that was gangsta. Dont know how he woulda played it off had it hit the ground but that actually made it better the way he spent it around and brought it up.
Nice post, LOVED IT!! I know I'm gonna offend someone by saying this but you have to go back as far as the Temptations and the Jackson 5 to see that type of performance from a group that can sing and dance like that with precision and harmony, no one has done it since N.E.... sorry to all you N'Sync fans but I gotta keep it real! Boyz II Men came close nut no cigar, they were better singers though.
THIS is how much of a N.E fan i am at 3:52 Ralph hits his mic and it falls of the cradle he catches it b4 it hits the ground without missing a beat NOW the reason i know this is b-cuz i taped this video and watched over and over just 2 learn the moves...lol 4real
I would think that by then, "that show" would'nt give a f**k about the time contraints, because this song is one of the songs that "that show" should have let them finished. Another disappointment was not letting BObby Brown finish "My Perogetive" at the end of season 17 (the speaking part was cut off).
I agree with u, NickFRESH!! They usually did that with the dancelines, too! I mean it ends when you're bout 2 see your favorite dancers (male or female) strut they stuff or when they get 2 the good part of a certain song.
P.S.: In your future comments, please say ST or the show. Just spreadin the word, that's all.

Ralph had to be the perfect lead singer. Did you see him accidentally drop the mic and recover it before it fell to the floor? Check out 3:45.

Yes! I remember watching that. What a catch!!!!
RegCrowd 3 years ago
Yeah, as a performer you have to keep performing despite mistakes ( i.e. the infamous stage dive/fall by R&B Diva Beyonce )!

It is Rick James' "Loosey's Rap" feat. Roxanne Shante.
