I'm a gamer and not a fanboy, I do want to play Mass Effect and GOW2. The good news is that the fall update for Xbox will allow saving game content on the hard drive and the GPU will be shrunk down to 65 nm their new 'Jasper' chipset which will eventually eliminate these problems.

Micro$oft sucks big time. I've got a launch 360 and it has RROD'd me a few times. Mine is modded as you described, it took about 20 minutes, no soldering, just hook the DVD drive to the PC and flash it. Mine RROD'd again recently, the washers et al. had stopped working, so I resoldered the GPU to the board. That works fine. Yeah, the 360 is a good system when it works, but some people have been dead unlucky, theirs died, got returned and replaced with someone elses dead 360. It completely sucks!

The new xbox 360 (falcons) chip sets are way less likely to RROD. I have a falcon myself and it runs much cooler and quieter then the launch 360 I had which had the RROD. Don't get me wrong I like my PS3 too, but it needs some better games and the online play just isn't as good as xbox live. The xbox 360 is also coming out with Jepser chip that solves the RROD completely sometime this year. I believe this coming this August.
