  • Majority of Hmong people in China still burning "Quav Kws" and "Yub Ntoo" for cooking, that if you are to sell the whole house belongings, you can get the most $10 from them. That Hmong in Laos still live in bamboo huts that one can see "Qaib khiav zom zaws nraum zoov". That majority of Hmong in the U.S. still cook, eat, and dress no much different li cov Hmoob nyob pem roob - so to say that we were once in history a great nation in China? puzzle me quite a bit.

  • I still find it hard to believe that we Hmong did actually have an influence politically and demographically in mainland China. If one time in history, we were that great, how did we disappeared in history, records, and nearly wiped out of the face of this earth. That after nearly a century of development, we Hmong still feet away from stone age?

  • I speak no Chinese nor ever learned Chinese, and what I brought up simply words from a Hmong Chinese himself. I am simply repeated his own words and his words make me believed it was true because he appeared to be an important individual. Similar to Lao people called us before the 60's. The writing has meaningless but intend was what hurt people's feeling.

  • @YawmZajlaug Well, the character has no bad meaning at all...

  • @anotherzly Wo zhi dao Wang Li, Song Zuying, Ayou Duo,

Mee Hang. Ta men zhu zai Zhong guo. Wo hen xi huan ta men

de chang ge. Ta men shi fei chang piao liang.^^

  • @paexou Wo ye xi huan.

  • the world's best beautiful girl from china-miaozhu

  • 苗族 (Miao Zu), the word Miao used to have an animal character before it like this猫. The first character was taking away just after the cultural revolution. So, you must understand that this is not as a sweet word as you think it is.

  • @YawmZajlaug No, that's not ture.

  • @anotherzly YES, WHAT I SAID WAS TRUE. MIAO IS A LABELING WORD. IN CHINESE, IT SOUNDS THE SAME AS MEO. A CAT CRYING MEO. HMONG HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MIAO WHAT SO EVER.

  • @YawmZajlaug No, what you said was not true. In Chinese, there are many different characters that sound the same, but has nothing to do with each other at all. 苗族 has nothing to do with cat at all. What you said is a total misunderstanding. Only those who never learn Chinese would think so. Everyone who speaks Chinese would not think so. There are different names in different languages, and Suav has nothing to do with Han either.

  • @anotherzly I guess you may be right. Let it rest here. But trace back in history, oral or cymbal, folk-tail, or you named it, there is not a trace of, related to, or come close to, MIAO in our history, our words, our anything. A name that has been, was, and is being labeled by others. I can not, will not accept, take, or even have any association with this name whatsoever, those wish to, willingly accepting it is their choice. But not this Zajlaug for ever.

  • @YawmZajlaug Hehe u are the one who dislikes that name. The word " Miao" Is a smart or clever word in Mandarin. So, we

shouldn't mind very much. The reason some ethnic groups

so afraid to label the word "Hmong" Because if they call Hmong,

then it means Hmong and Mongol are the same. Then Mongol

and Hmong will very very strong to rule all ethnic groups

in Asia. So, other just use Hmong name to be different from

    Mong or Mongol.

  • @paexou Hey, Hmong has nothing to do with Mongol...

  • @YawmZajlaug Hey dude, what you said is plain bullshit! If you don't know Chinese words, go learn it first。 苗 has nothing to do with 猫。 苗 has been used as an ethnic name thousand of years ago, as far back as Tang Dynasty. Read this:

    作为单一民族的族称重现于文献之中.如唐代樊卓著的"蛮书"卷十:“黔、泾、巴、夏,四邑之苗众”。

  • @tianyafeixing I am not a Chinese person, nor ever Chinese, nor been to China for this topic purpose. I learned nothing more than words from a Hmong Chinese elder. If this word was wrong, not mine but his. But, if you accept what it is, it is your choice. I am happy with my level of acceptance and stay at my level of knowledge. But remember, any words give out during a revolution could have off meaning.

  • @100johnwayne No, the language is Hmong.

  • 嘿黎凹嗯你红每天好得多!我感动你的工作非常炎热努力。我和林间空地你们这样做 - 只要做你想要做的是和大家做最好的确定。我希望我能O以更多的帮助,但希望在未来我们会见面。

  • i like the music.. her voice is sooo high in this one!

  • 真是一首好聽的歌!!!

  • wulun zai na ge guojia,wo men dou shi miaozu. wo hen gaoxing wo sheng lai shi miao ren. Miao ren yuo hen duo guojia, shi xuduo guojia gongmin. zhe you tianmei you lihai. wo men wulun zai na ge guojia ye hao, qing bu yao wangji ZHONGGUO shi wo men Miaozu de shengdi, shi wo men de zuguo. wo men hai yao gen ai wo men de zuguo, jintian de zhongguo. Yao shi ni you shijian duo duo qu kan zhongguo. qu xi ai ta, zhi chi ta, bangzhu ta, den den....wo men zhongguo Miaozu hai you jiu bai wan duo ye.

  • Isn't it sad that we hmong now adays dont know the history of our people. Me born in America knows nothing about Hmongs history and losing the language. I am sure my kids and grandkids will be like me. Soon the Hmong in America will be like most of the Hmong Chinese that could only read and write Chinese.

  • khamnouan, you are stupid.

  • Why do people keep caring about where we're from? Jeez. It's starting to get on my nerves. We're not Mongolians, we're not Miao, we're not Chinese, Thai, Lao... WE ARE HMONG. Okay? And thats all I care about. JeeZ

  • Actually we are Miao too. If we are not Miao then we are not Hmong either, but we would still be Hmoob. If we are not Miao then Chinese people are not Chinese, they would be Zhongguoren. People have different ways of pronouncing other people. Chinese people call us Miao similarly to how we call them Suav. Hmoob people in China call themselves Miao when they are speaking Mandarin just to let you know.

  • @SuperLeeXiong YOUR STATEMENT ARE RATHER CONFUSION. UP TO 1960s, LAO PEOPLE STILL CALLED HMONG "MIAO", A NAME BADLY LABEL EQUALLY TO THE WHITE CALLED THE BLACK. MAINLY HMONG YOUTH IN COLLEGE HAVE TO INVOLVED IN PHYSICAL FIGHTS WITH THE LAO YOUTH JUST TO POINT OUT THAT WE WERE NOT MIAO. AFTER NEARLY 10 YEARS OF FIGHTING, AND OUR ADVANCING IN EDUCATION WHERE THE LAO PEOPLE STARTED TO RECOGNIZE AND ACCEPT THE NAME HMONG. THAT'S HOW YOU GOT THE NAME HMONG, BUT YOU DID NOT KNOW THE PRICE OF IT.

  • @SuperLeeXiong THINK DEEPER BEFORE YOU WILLINGLY ACCEPTING THE NAME MIAO. EACH OF THE HMONG GROUPS, CHINA, LAO, BURMA, THAI, OR VIETNAM NEVER CALLED THEMSELVES MIAO. IF YOU ASKED THEM IN THEIR OWN TERM, THEIR OWN LANGUAGE, THEIR ANSWER WOULD NOT BE "MIAO" INSTEAD, FOR POLITICAL, SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND SENSES OF POWERLESS REASONS, THEY ACCEPT THAT NAME. A NAME BADLY LABEL BY THE LARGER GROUP PLACED UP ON THEM. READ MORE.....

  • @xiongrl

Please get a high pillow and close your eyes and think deep into this question. You will realize that you wish you have your Hmong history in record books. So sad that we Hmong walked a long trail without a single foot print. We say were came from here and there but no record whatsoever, and kind of sad. History does shape the future and history tell who we really are.

  • @YawmZajlaug, that's not entirely true. Zaj tshoob, txiv xaim will explain Hmong history/path. Most people just learning to sing those words, but a few of them can pin-point to a location on the map from the beginning, at least from the big flood. I have seen it and I thought it make sense.

And u r right, history shape who we are, but not the future. We shape our future.

    UnitedAsOne - Hmoob.

  • @UnitedAsOneHmong SO SAD THAT WE WALKED A TRAIL WITHOUT A SINGLE FOOT PRINT. IF YOU PUT THIS QUESTION IN DEEP THOUGHT, YOU WILL FEEL SADLY ABOUT IT. I WISH I HAVE THE MONEY, THE RESOURCES, THE KNOWLEDGE, AND THE ABILITY TO GO BACK IN TIME, DO RESEARCH, GET MUMMY DNA SAMPLE, AND PUT THIS QUESTION OF WHO WERE ARE AND WHERE WERE WE FROM TO REST.

  • @YawmZajlaug Honestly, I don't care about the past. The reason why we can't live a good life is because we don't look forward to the future. Zoo li peb cov hmoob yeej tsis nyuaj siab txog yam tom ntej nas. Peb cov hmoob pheej chim txog yav tag los xwb, es vim li ntawd, peb cov hmoob thiaj li tsis nrog luag muaj los mas. We had a bad history, yes... but right now, in the present... we are making history for the future of our kids.

  • @YawmZajlaug U are 100% yog lawm. History does shape us.

  • @xiongrl IN FACT, YOU SHOULD CONTINUE YOUR EDUCATION, EARN YOUR PH.D., EARNED GREAT MONEY, AND CONTRIBUTE SOME TO HMONG RESEARCH TO GO BACK TO THESE PLACES AND DIG OUT HISTORY, MUMMY, TOOLS, DNA SAMPLES, AND COMPILE A GREAT BOOK SO THAT THE NEXT GENERATION DON'T HAVE TO DOUBT WHERE HMONG WERE FROM. HOW ABOUT THAT!

  • @YawmZajlaug And once again... I'll say it one more time... Why do people keep caring about where we're from?

  • @xiongrl

I am not sure how old you are, but if you have gone through school, you were required to study history. There is hardly any group of people on this planet would dare not talk about their past, not to mention care about their past.

  • @YawmZajlaug I'm old. Anyways, yes we were in fact required to study history. And if you have TAKEN history class in the U.S, history class is mostly about World War I and II, Civil War, and other things that have happened IN THE UNITED STATES and has affected the changes in THE UNITED STATES. It was really rare to hear something about China, Thailand, Laos or other countries in history class. And if those countries WERE mentioned, it was for only a brief moment then it went back to the US.

  • @YawmZajlaug I think you need to calm down a bit. All of those are histories. Please look to the future please. Miao (苗) is a term chosen by all Hmong, Mong, Hmu, Gong Xiong, A-Hmao etc. in China to represent themselves during the time China was classifying minorities groups. So it is not racist at all YawmZajlaug. What anotherzly said is true. Suav is a newer given term to Chinese (not just to Han) people. IDK why but yeah. The older term Hmong use for Chinese is "Zhonggu".

  • @YawmZajlaug Now "Zhonggu" is just the Hmong way of saying "Zhong Guo (中国/Middle Country)" because that is what Chinese themselves in the past and also today too as a unified country. I am Hmong too if that is what you're wondering so I hope that is clear up for you a bit.

  • before I met her in China. she didn't know how to read and write in Hmong. she knew to read and write in Chinese and always sang Chjnese songs. I trained her to read and write in Hmong so she could sing our Hmong songs. Now she did it.

  • No you got it wrong....you guys look down on us....you got a problem don't watch it....just because we sound better....

  • @khamnouan if you don't like that we Hmong sing this song i suggest you don't watch it. idiot! no one ask you for the info!

  • We hmong people do have our own music. You shouldn't say a thing just because you think you know about us. Just so you know, all asian people copy each other. Maybe you need to know more about Hmong before you say something.

  • Listen to this song without looking at the Subtitles and see if you could understand everything she is saying....

  • very hard to understand without the sub but it do sound like Hmong.

  • we hmong came from mongolia thats why we got the hmong(mong-mongolia).

  • No, that's not true.

  • Please cite your source. As far as I know "Muam Nkauj Lig" does not mean Mongolia -- perhaps there was a son that run off to mongolia but originally I don't think it's us. Please refer to Hmong ABC's documentary for educated best estimate of the origin.

  • @mryang91 , we did not come from Mongolia. You're giving wrong information. The word Hmong has nothing to do with Mongolia.

  • @mryang91, the Hmongs did not come from Mongolia. The word Hmong has nothing to do with Mongolia.

  • @mryang91, the Hmongs did not come from Mongolia. The word Hmong has nothing to do with Mongolia.

  • @mryang91... Wow It Link-up or Come- really good

"Mongolian" vs the role that today Hmong people ... Interest well augmented point of View LHK ^_^ No wonder Hmong r a real fighter during the CIA Secret War in Lao

  • We're all Hmoob...

  • white Hmong are totally speaking differents from Hmong leeg and HmongGreen.

  • Are they been China?

  • Yes.

  • beautiful song by Wang Li.

  • I saw Wang Li, 王丽 , during the July 4th festival in St. Paul this past year. I think she is married to a Hmong Meiguo.

  • What is Hmong Meiguo?

  • Meiguo is a Mandarin word for America. It means beautiful country.

  • I can understand Lig Vaj pretty good coz she's White Hmong from China..

  • It's great of you to think so.

  • Very nice song. Beautiful voice!

  • sometimes, hmong sounds like chinese to me. ^^ love it

  • Actually, Hmong are chinese. We are Zhonggren ourselves. We, Hmong American, just may not see that since most of our parents and/or grandparents are from Laos after the Viet War. I still see myself as a Zhonggren. I may not have the accent and knowledge, but who does it now especially here in the US. We, ourselves, cannot even speak the correct Hmong at times. LOL Great video though, Anotherzly.

  • I don't thnk we're Chinese. Only those Miao who stayed in China are Chinese by nationality. Our ancestors were seperatists of Qing and left before the modern idea of Zhongguo or the notion of Zhonghua Minguo came about. We're simply the long lost brethren of Miao in China. Hmong are also included as part of Laos and Thailand's official ethnic makeup. Even Tai peoples were from what is now China.. Now we young ones are American. Those were just our origins...Such is the way for displaced peoples.

  • I agree. Hmoob leeg or green Hmong dailect does sound much more like Mandarin and Hmong Dawb or white Hmong sounds more or Cantonese. Both can understands each other but it is at time hard to communicate. lol

  • at least she sings in proper Hmong although sometimes it's hard to understand her
