@flapjack200011 I was backing up before canter just to test his buttons as surprisingly, up untill before this ride, he was veryyyy lazy in the brain and didn't think forward atall, (though as you can tell he was thinking plenty forward here!) and also just to engage his backend a bit and remind him to use it as he was getting pretty "runny" at a few points :) I like doing alot of transitions with him and do back up into canter alot just to keep him thinking :) thanks everyone! xxxxx
My little welsh pony, Storm, exagerates over trot poles so damn much. He jumps like he is jumping 60cm or something and its on the freaking ground >_<. He is a little rat bag. He runs into fences and stuff so i can't turn him out of them. Then he rears up and stuff. Oh well, he is still cute ^^. I think i will stick to my dressage horse though. She is much better at jumping ... and behaving

Well, I think this video is F - U - N!!! As far as all your critics go, who gives a crap if you make some mistakes - who in this world doesn't? We make mistakes, learn from them and move on. For them to take the time to tear you down, they must be very insecure and jealous. It's obvious you have great balance and are tight as a tick in the saddle.
It's also obvious you love and enjoy your cutie-patootie horse and he enjoys you, too! Jumanji is one rockin' dude!! ;D
If you're having fun, and it gives you pleasure, then just enjoy yourself. If you and your horse are on such good terms then that's the whole point. Enjoy what you do. If it makes your day then all the better.

Ride how YOU want and the way that works for both you and the horse. Every combo is different, so what works for someone might not work for you, and people just don't get that.

I would do lots and lots of groundwork and round penning, Be the dominant mare first, friend second. Start thinking the way a horse does, not the way a human does. My favorite trainer is David Lee Archer. Search him here on youtube. He completely changed my attitude and the bond between me and my horse!

This is a young horse, and you seem to be doing the right thing - letting him have fun, staying on, and correcting him gently when you think he's overly enthusiastic :p just don't forget the balance, especially with young horses it's important to be in balance with the horse. my welsh cob section D goes at jumps the same way, he sometimes leaves me behind at a jump but it doesnt bother him, he just takes me by surprise sometimes by taking off WAY to early but he still makes it across with a lovely landing :) Your horse looks like he enjoys his jumping anyway so thats good, keep up the good work

I own a 15.1 hh heavy weight gypsy vanner cob she is 16 but shes never done anything with her last owner so has very 'low mileage' . Ive had her for nearly a year and done quite a lot with her do you think she is too old to jump?

do you do classes with him? he would make a GREAT working hunter horse. he has the perfect build, he is a lovely mover and can jump really well! and he is also gorgous :)

I LOVE how he looks over the jumps! He seems so happy to do it! He's gorgeous, himself, as well! I love how thick he's built. :) Is he a stud or is he gelded?

my welsh cob section D goes at jumps the same way, he sometimes leaves me behind at a jump but it doesnt bother him, he just takes me by surprise sometimes by taking off WAY to early but he still makes it across with a lovely landing :) Your horse looks like he enjoys his jumping anyway so thats good, keep up the good work

haha! don't worry I loose so many stirrups and reins during cross country with mine, jumpy horses are hard but a hell of a lot of fun!

To your description, I think he loves the way you ride him, and he, being a rather cold blooded horse doesn't even seem to mind you being left behind over some fences much anyway :) you look like youre having fun :D

I own a 15.1 hh heavy weight gypsy vanner cob she is 16 but shes never done anything with her last owner so has very 'low mileage' . Ive had her for nearly a year and done quite a lot with her do you think she is too old to jump?
