  • I went light skinned(I'm mixed) when i was young b.c I thought I was ugly with a dark tan. Now I'm so white I think I'm ugly. I have a photo of me when I had a dark tan, and not so recently I looked at it, wishing I went back there.

I'm light skin but know the issues of dark vs light skin...to the roots of it all, it's an issue of self love.

  • you speak truth

  • You influenced me to not have my confidence decreased because someone says something. Thank you!

  • Majorbummer2 that's a wonderful piece of advice! I thank you very much"

  • I am a white guy who dated a girl from Nigeria. I was married to a dark skinned black girl. I've dated black women whose skin was nearly as pale as mine. The beauty is not in the shade of your skin. You're either pretty or you're not. don't pay attention to those who hate. pay attention to those who appreciate your beauty. they're out there.

  • I see lot of Black skinned vs Light skinned videos out there. There was a time when this clearly happened between two races. And still does. But now it seems like this is happening between one race? Is this really happening? Who started this? You're all beautiful, black people. And you're all beautifull, white people. You all should not care so much about skin colour. Soul is what truly should care.

  • As a white man, you look really beautiful to me... this idea that dark skinned women are less attractive is nonsense.

  • God bless you my sister. u've made my day!x

  • The Devil didn't come up with those rules.....Europeans did!

  • I find dark-skinned women to be the most beautiful women on the planet, but I'm able to think outside the box. The Black Woman is God and the Darker the berry, Sweeter the Juice.

  • I think black men like light skin girls and white men like dark skin girls. Sorry, but "pretty" is in the eye of the beholder. Some people are not attracted to 'x', and that's OK.

  • really we do it to our selves we dont like are selves thats why we have to cover our beauty with things like weaves and perms and bleach our skin. if we want to be beautiful lets stop living in the white mans image and after his likeness then we can make a stand and show this generation and the next generation what real beauty is. light skin vs dark skin afro american arguments can go on all day but at the end of the day to others u will still be considered a nigger so free ur minds ppl

  • I know what you saying

  • People don't want to know if they are "ultimately" beautiful..

They want to know that other people find them beautiful..

This is due to the basic need for others that most humans share. The autistic among us really DON'T care what people think.

Everyone else is just using cognitive biases, the opinion of imaginary friends (god) and a siege mentality to positively rationalize their experiences.

The cognitive bias is transparent and in most cases actually healthy.

  • @CarlosCoolidgeAlden

WOW. Are you freaking serious? I honestly can't take this comment seriously. You are very ignorant and you need to stop living under a rock. Ignorant people like you are the ones who aren't human. Judging someone based on their skin is inhumane and just flat out idiotic. You just radiate ignorance and stupidity. I'm not even gonna waste anymore time commenting on how ignorant you are. I feel sorry for you and all the others out there like you.

  • We are all black & share the same blood .skin color have nothing to do with it because black people have all shades of brown

  • purple people are pretty!!!! LOL u r awesome

  • I like your video a lot. But what I can't stand is the fact that she is trying to show people to appreciate and respect each other as people not by their skin tone. So why are there people commenting about light skin is worst/better this and dark skin worst/better this. You completely missed the point of her video. There's nothing wrong with a preference but you don't show ones beauty by putting down others, whether it's with skin tone, hair texture, features, or race. GROW UP!!!

  • @AfricanPrideGIRL you sound ignorant. light skinned or dark we all share a common heritage and we shouldnt down each other..

  • THEM LIGHTY WHITEY WOMEN THINK THEY ALL FUCKING THAT.......... THANK YOU GIRL FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH AND SETTING THEZE FAKE BLACK BITCHES. IN THEY MUTHER FUCKING PLACE... I HATE LIGHTSKIN WOMEN THEY FUCKING IGNORANT AND CONCIETED WHO THE FUCK REALLY LIKES PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!!!>>?????? REALLY???? GET REAL!!!!!! AS IN A REAL FUCKING WOMEN.... THAT'SWHY SOMETIMES I LIKE BET... BLACK GIRLS RULE... AND WHICH WE DO!!!!!!!! LADY'S REAL BLACK GIRL'S RULE!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE HIGHLIGHTERS OOOOPS HIGHYELLOWS

  • WISE PRETTY LADY YOU ARE NO DOUBT!!!

  • LOVE WHO YOU ARE DARK OR LIGHT SKIN.BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL AND JUST LNOW THAT.IF OTHER PEOPLE WANT TO BE BRAIN WASH BY ALL THAT BS,THAT'S THEIR PROBLEM.I KNOW THIS YOU ARE PRETTY AND I WANT YOU AND I WANT YOU NOW!!!LOL RESPECT KEEP IT POPPING SWEETIE

  • i love you! lol your so positive :)

  • This is really interesting, so glad someone requested this! you're GORGEOUS, don't even kid yourself(:

  • I am a dark skinned asian, & i have been picked on for my colour by family members, people from the same country and so on. It gets so frustrating at times! Theyve made me feel worthless & they even made me question God and I'd sit and cry to God and ask him why didnt he make me light, like the rest of my family. And even till this day i'm not super confident with my self because of that ONE thing. Black/white boys find me attractive, but asians not so much. I hope one day I can accept myself!

  • @MultiRee123 You are definitely beautiful. I will be praying for you that one day , you will look at yourself in the mirror and love the face looking back at you. Much love.

  • @MultiRee123 a lot of people find darker complexions more appealing on women. I'm white and I personally do. I don't find pale complexions attractive at all.

the key is to live life on your own terms, live life for yourself. your life isn't about your critics, it's about YOU. you're responsible for your health and happiness, not them. once you think that way, accepting who you are becomes easy.

  • Come on man..you don't have to even respond to that BS..I'm a fly dude and I would jump over 10 light skinned chicks to get at a sista like you. Just project that calm, dignified African vibe and that draws me in like a Bull.

What I don't appreciate about light skinned chicks is they have that "DUPED" priviledged attitude they were afforded by having a whtie exploiter/rapist in their ancestry..then forced colorism into the mix to divide and conquer ALL of us.

    That's a dissapointment to me.

  • @sadelover100

    They could be mixed Asian..

Your logic is a "disappointment to me"

  • @itsdastuff Its the truth..The young lady should keep her head up and stay proud and dignified..it's the only way to remain true to yourself and those who care about you.

  • See, I'm a "White" and I wish I was dark skinned. As far as i'm concerned we are ALL beautiful, this "Color" stuff does not faze me. Great video I really liked it.

  • @TerrCacilia Yes we are.

  • At the end of the day, it's a lotta left over mental debris from slavery. I don't do the god thing either, as basically christianity was forced upon every culture Europe encountered and conquered. I am something of a Taoist and Buddhist. My strength comes from how I see myself, and not giving too much of a care as to what other people may think. Having a devil to blame weakens the individual, by making them rely on another external source.

  • Comment removed

  • I think it goes back to slavery times were the light skin people were able to work in the house and the dark skin people didnt. And also it meant when you were light you probably had white in you. I think its just black peoples insecurities.

  • Thank you so much I plan on just being with my son, fiance, and my mother..people that accept and love us no mtter what color we are

  • My mother is white and I am the first person with black in her family I am light skinned and they are still racist and don't accept me. I dont talk to them or want my son to grow up like I did around them. I know they are not right. I dont think about color like they do I don't see it. I just see good people or bad people. I don't need thier love love or anyones acceptence

  • @shawna4change I am so sorry to hear about your experience. Just stay strong in God and with his strength, you will be okay and know what to do about your family. Much love.

  • @shawna4change The human race needs to get rid of the artificial concept and construct of 'color-based race' nonsense. It's only then we see ourselves as reflected by the next individual. It's all about social evolution imho. So stick with your philosophy, it will serve you well. : )

  • right on sister

  • @MsColler Thank you

  • @ladiesletsbefrank im 12 And african but born in america and i like the way u put ur points across i mean light skinned dark skinned its still brown and the race is still black

  • @MsColler Yes, we are all black and beautiful the way we are.

  • You are really beautiful urself :) My family is really into Nigerian movies haha :) keep up the videos!

  • @mellemud Wow, thanks.

  • i do remember being picked on by other girls and told i think i'm stuck up. i got bullied, pushed, etc. had a girl tease me w/ scissors like she was gonna cut one of my ponytails off. & i've spoken to darker complexioned friends who got teased or hurt as well. all i can say is if someone has a problem with your skin or your hair or you, that's their issue, & they more than likely have an inferiority complex. Don't lower yourself to weak-minded people that hate themselves & want 2 bring u down

  • thank you for the video! :D i'll link my friends to your channel, you're that awesome :)

/end of my series of comments

  • @EvilJirachi Thank you so much.

  • ahnnnn, sorry if I sound so superficial, theres really not much room to say things haha.

with my previous comment about interbreeding, everyone will be of the same skin color, so there's less prejudiced going on.

I wish I would have been born in the future, hopefully then theres less of this thing going on. haha

  • Also nice video! very inspirational as always.

Me? I'm also dark skinned (not too dark), but I've always found dark skinned people to be pretty too.

And most black (not just black, dark skinned in general) people I've met have good skin. :) Its a nice asset.

*watches the rest of the video I'm still halfway in, couldnt resist to comment! haha*

  • *comment full of random agenda*

Aren't white people gonna be extinct sooner or later? Because of all the interbreeding going on?

^Everyone will be of a darker tone. A couple millenniums later hurray! We'll all have chocolate skin, and look like 7ft tall very attractive supermodels (speculation by scientists).

They also speculated that the human race will split into two. The smart pretty ones, and the dumb, short "goblin" looking things.

    Ahh, this will be interesting.

  • lol OKAAY u betta tell em

  • @bestcheercap lol, thank lady.

  • Truth! I'm Nigerian too (Edo), and I certainly know how Naija people see skin tone. People ALWAYS think I'm Igbo b/c of my colour. I have women in my family who bleach to look like my mother who is VERY light. My father is dark, but I'm not and both of my parents instilled in me the horrors and "shameful-ness" of bleaching. The thing is that you can tell and it is SO SAD! If only they saw themselves how God sees them...

  • @ade52286 Yup, we will save ourselves from heartache if we can only see ourselves the way God sees us. I started praying this prayer, God help me to myself and others through your eyes. Thanks for commenting. I really appreciate all your comments.

  • Amen to that sister! Funny eh?, short wanna be tall, tall wanna be shorter, straight hair wanna be curly, curly wanna be straight, thin wanna be thick, thick wanna be thin, pale wanna be dark, dark wanna be lighter, etc, etc...... our carnal perceptions have us running scared. Just for the record, I praise God for the external and internal beauty inherent in the African peoples. I can't believe the ugly racial history we have. I think you Afro girls are especially beautiful... imho.

  • @klaiejah It is so true, short want to be tall, tall wanna be shorter. Wow it is sad that people sometimes crave to be something that they are not physically. Like I said, all those negative things which includes the ugly racial history is all from the devil.

  • @lemonflowerz Wow, thank you so much for those words. Your words were such a blessing. I really appreciate you.

  • Great video

  • @jjsolas09 Thank you

  • your hair is so cute here and i totally agree with you on this video

  • @masturKEIZZtion Thanks so much lady.

  • haha the devil claming and calling others ugly? lol he outta look himself in da mirror! Keep shining my beautiful sister in Christ!

  • @spekgirl1 lol, thanks lady. The sad part is when we believe what he says.

  • Thank you so much for including God in your video :)

  • @Jamericangazagyal You are welcome, I had to. God is our only strong foundation. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate you.

  • @ladiesletsbefrank You're welcome and I'm very thankful to have such an inspirational sister to watch on Youtube :)

  • I have heard since I was a child that dark skin was ugly and it stuck with me until I was 18, after that I said forget that crap. I am dark skin and I love it, I can care less about people running around saying we dark skin women are ugly and how much these rappers talk about red bones, please. Beauty comes in all shades and it is just getting old. Loved the video as always.

  • @m0renachula704 Yes, you couldn't have said it any better, beauty comes in all shades.

  • Yes it starts with our mindset. Think about what you're saying/doing when you put someone down because of their skin & same when you're putting someone up because of their skin.

  • @shany9988 Yup I agree, it starts with the mind.

  • i am a subcriber. i love your videos. u speak nolage.

  • @MrMarkiemarkie21 Thank you soooooo much. You are too sweet,

  • Im nigerian/black too!

  • @bluedragonz100 You are Nigerian? Nice to meet another Nigerian on here.

  • @ladiesletsbefrank I was born and raised in the bronx my mom is african american and my father is straight outta nigeria. Im more black than nigerian but I eat all the african food even fufu lol

  • I love your video :) You are so right...When we see ourselves the way God sees us, we will have a true perception of who we are...

  • @blackcherry8907 True that. Thank you.

  • @TAINAGREEN2009 Yes you are beautiful.

  • Great video, and great points as always!

  • @MissDeenaDiva Thanks lady. I appreciate you.
