Kago-chan is so adorable at 14 ... her cute playfulness is so disarming. I think some of that is due to her close supportive relationship with Nono ... The other MM members were not all that close ... and not even friendly, we have learned ... so the "two top" had an advantage as the dynamic duo ... :) ... I think it made it even harder for Aibon when she was banned, and isolated for a year by HIP
@kenlo77 Good god man. Please tell me you at least sometimes wonder if you're putting way too much thought into the lives of fourteen year old japanese girls.
@flourlove22 People mature at different rates. Kago-chan and Tsuji-san did act a bit immature ... Tsunko said Tsuji acted like a 5 yr old boy ... and a brat. It was a surprise when Tsuji-san married and had the cutest baby ... and seemed to mature overnight.
I have watched a few videos with Aibon and Tsuji learning English, and they're both so cute, but Aibon learning English always makes me laugh more. xD
They filmed this in the building where they produced the likes of Hello Morning which is why Kago is dressed the way she is. Ayaka's costume is for this segment.
This is at the TV Tokyo studio where they produced "Hello! Morning", in the lounge area between the dressing rooms (down that hall) and the studio itself.
I think it's in reference to the very common phrase "I'm buzzed" (meaning that you're starting to feel the effects of alcohol, but you're not flat-out dunk yet)
But ya, I haven't heard anybody say that they're buzz"ing"
You haven't been living long enough, lol. I hear it all the time over here. When we say,"I'm drunk" , over here then get ready for some stupid stuff to happen, or help us walk. "Buzzing", to me means..."I'm feeling good".
She was a natural comedian who knew how to play to the camera. She knew that walking around in circles after the dessert was going to look good....lol
Ayaka isn't from Hawaii, as kingofstupid said in reply to you. She lived there for a while, but she was born in Kobe (Japan). Her mastery of English to the point of sounding native is something I've encountered in person only once in my entire life from an ESL speaker.
ESL = English as a Second Language, usually meaning people - like Ayaka - who didn't start to learn English until past the "language finalising" years of 5-7 years old. Usually such people have an accent, no matter what they do
actually its when your older than that you have an accent i know someone who is from korea who learned english when she was 9 and has no accent, when you start passing your teenage years or have no experience with another language as a child then you are more likely to have an accent forever
Oh wait, yeah. I was thinking of Mika Todd. Ayaka was born in Kobe (which is in Japan if you didn't know XD) and moved to Hawaii when she was a teenager.
I don't think we in the U.S. usually say, "I'm buzzing." We say, "I'm buzzed." Ayaka uses a lot of grammatically correct but syntactically non-standard phrases in these segments.
Buzzing is the sound bugs like flies and bees make! I've never heard it used for being drunk. You could say that you have a buzz though and people will understand that you are high or feeling slight effects from something.
Why "boing"? Because this iteration of Mini Moni was based on the idea that they were a group of "bunny aliens" come to Earth to study our culture. And bunnies go "boing". See the PV for "Jankenpyon".
Its so cute lol XD Its weird because here (the UK) we say 'buzzing' as if its a good things, like, if some one asks how you are, you would reply with 'i'm buzzing' as to say your happy XD Dont know if its the same for anyone else XD
heh heh...im a native speaker...but i learn japanese...but im fairly young so the problem is sometimes i get mixed up with japanese and english. its realy odd! my spanish teacher in school asked me '"que tal?"' and i went '"watashi wa genkidayo!"'
Sometimes the phrases Ayaka taught them make me question whether or not she ever really lived in America. XD I guess Hawaii's a bit different. ^^; Really, she just sort of let her English skills go.

She attended American schools and studied English while still a child living in Japan. So she's not really an ESL speaker.
