  • Love love love this

  • Original much better. They made a mess of this 1

  • For sure, one of the most beautiful, and under-rated, songs ever made.

Someone should remix this for 2011.

  • Reminds me of how much I used to hate Bolton. I can feel the dread pouring back.

  • Smokebelch: Incredible music, unfortunately STOLEN

    youtube.com/watch?v=Sp1N0iArsuU

not even credited by Weatherall and Co, I used to like them, now, fu*k em

  • @kraftwerkbot it was a cover of the original by Lamont Booker. States so on the sleeve.

  • one of the tunes of the 90s

  • Diggin through the YouTube crates - nice find =]

  • Fantastic tune, great club at an amazing time.

The whole place was a group hug.

Never forget the crush to get in, the sweaty nights at the back or the random parties after.

  • Oberklasse Classic ,,,gruß Olli-etg.

  • yeahhh great song,autentic

  • Such good memories of that place, never missed one, in the whole year, when it was Sugar Sweet. Anyone remember the queues, or the night Sabres of Paradise played? (they were a bit average) Fun times, and thankfully not a white glove, Vicks or glow stick in sight!!!

  • This is the first time I have listened to this in ages!!! What a track. Am 37 now, but was in my early 20's when the clubbing scene kicked off in Belfast! I first saw Andy Weatherall in 'Faith' at the Limelight on a Wednesday night(anyone remember that one?)It was happy days all round! We can't forget Ian McCready, and Dave Anderson also?

  • This is when David Holmes was making tunes with just filthy acid ripping through.

Fucking loved it and yeah this was by far the best remix of Smokebelch.

Some fucker knicked my copy of it.............

  • @shaktimandan I swapped mine with my ex for half a gram! Stupid Stupid Stupid.

  • Sugar Sweet and Warzone Collective ruled the Art College live scene in the late 80s and early 90s

    The best of times ...

  • still get shivers with the wee bit towards the end.class

  • Yep and old enuff, great times, Although I remember a lot of footage was shot at sugarsweet the holder should really upload it would be great to see it. I also had a white label of DeNiro but some bastid nicked it on me.

  • fooking wicked! I have this on a mix that's 15 years old, but never knew what it was til now.

  • You can listen to any of his experiments and hear Weatherall through and through.

Was Tenniswood in on this one too, or was that later?

  • Saw Andy Weatherall play at the then Music Factory in London Road, Sheffield1995

  • yes.. the west coast u.s. played it also. mark e quark , etc. great track....

  • The old art college days are stuff of legends....big love to those of you who frequented. Ah, the memories!

  • Ive probably heard at least two songs at least on par with the upliftingness of that chasey, but yeh still it stands well up there as one of the best at that.

  • 3.14 to 5.00 stands the test of time as one of the most uplifting two minutes of dance music you will ever hear.....

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! ARTS COLLEGE BELFAST!!1 nice upload!!

  • Lost millions of brain cells at this club and if I had the opportunity to go back, I'd do it all again....Quality tune of the day! Fair play Homer

  • Art College Belfast - hairs still standing up on my arms 15 years later, nice one David!

  • is that near sub club?

  • homer is the king. have a mixtape of him in sides , dublin , 1990, the best

  • Comment removed

  • almost brings a teat to the things where that good bak then!

  • I love this riff,,,, sort of like lay lady lay,,,,, and roseblood by mazzy star

  • thats the shit,im 30 now and thats just taken me right back to my youth :)

  • the whole remix is a journey.superb

  • Goosebumptastic.

  • Amazing song, great remix :)

  • can somebody upload the dj icey version??

  • i remember when andrew weatherall made this tune and did record launch at happy jacks club on a sunday nite sabres of paradise record label but this is good mix although i prefer my 7inch single nanajan

  • A.W.E.S.O.M.E.-O.

  • thanks for this!!:()

  • GREAT!!!!!

  • Was there when they played live. RIP Peter Quinn, keep the faith!!!

  • ^^^^^ 100% with ya on that

  • i was there too..about 20 of us from omagh were up

    only 2 got in..

jeez was a hard palce to het into back then.. lol

  • Yeah it was crazy hard to get into mainly because it was so popular. The bouncers used to know a lot of the regulars which helped but it was an amazing part of NI's history in terms of brining the people together.

There was a reunion many years later at a different venue but it simply wasn't the same...

  • @Swordfish77723

my cock is a massive device, dajmn!

  • @Swordfish77723

    Peter RIP 2nd ann.

  • @heroide yep, Peters 2nd Aniversary RIP

  • i waa there awesome.........art college and my m8 sometimes homer.....

  • im not old enough to remember sugar sweet =[ but i seriously think its about time oldskool was back on scene in belfast,i mean srsly wtf is going on

  • i remember the first time i had a smoke belch. it was pretty damn funny.

  • thought the 2005 remix of this was pretty decent too, tdr - smoked out

  • fab!

  • stupenda!!!

  • that´s soo nice !!

  • Great tune, I remember it well. Even though today is the first time I have heard it in about 10 years. thanks!

  • Even though it was a complete rip off and weatherall got credit for it, its a quality remix of lb bad.

  • massive tune, remember it first time of hearing,,so different from anything else, then, before,or since,,thanks

  • Shame the original artist of that melody got no credit from andy wetherall at all for it. Bit shit of him actually not to even say he lifted it note for note.

Good spot on the Dylan Sequence, but search for LB Bad - New Age Of Faith. It's where that piano sequence came from. You will hear all the notes match between sabres and his track.

Sundance - Sundance also borrows the same melody.

  • Those days can never be repeated and are all the best for it, F**K i miss the good ship E and all those those who sailed on it!

  • Group hug anyone? this track and a decent pill 15 years ago... heaven, i've just shed a tear. Thanks for posting this!

  • hehehe its true ;)

  • This tune redefines beauty and is an all time classic

  • orbit! never made it, wish i had, was always a Voodoo man but holmes always rocked it

  • Are you talking about Club Voodoo in Liverpool? It's was top club in the early days when they started.

  • Sublime. Beautiful tune. Reminds me of The Orbit. Great days...

  • great tune, great time for electronic music, holmes realy was class, also love the beatless mix that came out before this, thanks for posting this tune and all the rest ,thanks pal.

  • fooking quality tune....

  • Increible. Buena versión de una canción mítica.

  • Ah the memories come flooding back... 'Sugar Sweet' @the Art College... A place that brought the whole Belfast clubbing community together, no-one gave a f**k about politics or religion and this top tune helped along the way... Remember being there to see S.o.P live.. Pure wickedness!!!!

  • yep, Great times indeed :)

  • Never realized it before, but this shares the same chord progression as Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay"

  • oh yeh, well spotted!!

  • Heh, I have the original of this track on White label. love it!

  • Will somebody plz tell the world who wrote this tune people seem to really love!!¿¿???!!!! Oh, ok, the writer? His name would be ELBEE BAD! Whaaaaaaaaa?! yup The Prince Of Dance L B BAD! wow!?

  • The video for LB Bad's tune is now up - on my videos. It becomes obvious that this is a wholesale copy of that , but with a beat. This is still a great record though.

  • Another Progressive House anthem. This was out at a time when the Progressive sound was so unique. Drum Club, Junior Boys Own, Fabi Paras, Andy Weatherall, etc. 92-94 - magic times and the perfect devlopment from the acid house/house of 87 - 91. Thanks again, Bondangoed - another gem.

  • I know :)

  • one for those who know the difference

  • It's this and Strings of Life that you can burn me to when I go....

  • One of the finest records ever made if you ask me.

  • Amazing 6am tune !!!
