Such good memories of that place, never missed one, in the whole year, when it was Sugar Sweet. Anyone remember the queues, or the night Sabres of Paradise played? (they were a bit average) Fun times, and thankfully not a white glove, Vicks or glow stick in sight!!!
This is the first time I have listened to this in ages!!! What a track. Am 37 now, but was in my early 20's when the clubbing scene kicked off in Belfast! I first saw Andy Weatherall in 'Faith' at the Limelight on a Wednesday night(anyone remember that one?)It was happy days all round! We can't forget Ian McCready, and Dave Anderson also?
Yep and old enuff, great times, Although I remember a lot of footage was shot at sugarsweet the holder should really upload it would be great to see it. I also had a white label of DeNiro but some bastid nicked it on me.
Ive probably heard at least two songs at least on par with the upliftingness of that chasey, but yeh still it stands well up there as one of the best at that.
i remember when andrew weatherall made this tune and did record launch at happy jacks club on a sunday nite sabres of paradise record label but this is good mix although i prefer my 7inch single nanajan
Yeah it was crazy hard to get into mainly because it was so popular. The bouncers used to know a lot of the regulars which helped but it was an amazing part of NI's history in terms of brining the people together.
There was a reunion many years later at a different venue but it simply wasn't the same...
Shame the original artist of that melody got no credit from andy wetherall at all for it. Bit shit of him actually not to even say he lifted it note for note.
Good spot on the Dylan Sequence, but search for LB Bad - New Age Of Faith. It's where that piano sequence came from. You will hear all the notes match between sabres and his track.
great tune, great time for electronic music, holmes realy was class, also love the beatless mix that came out before this, thanks for posting this tune and all the rest ,thanks pal.
Ah the memories come flooding back... 'Sugar Sweet' @the Art College... A place that brought the whole Belfast clubbing community together, no-one gave a f**k about politics or religion and this top tune helped along the way... Remember being there to see S.o.P live.. Pure wickedness!!!!
Will somebody plz tell the world who wrote this tune people seem to really love!!¿¿???!!!! Oh, ok, the writer? His name would be ELBEE BAD! Whaaaaaaaaa?! yup The Prince Of Dance L B BAD! wow!?
The video for LB Bad's tune is now up - on my videos. It becomes obvious that this is a wholesale copy of that , but with a beat. This is still a great record though.
Another Progressive House anthem. This was out at a time when the Progressive sound was so unique. Drum Club, Junior Boys Own, Fabi Paras, Andy Weatherall, etc. 92-94 - magic times and the perfect devlopment from the acid house/house of 87 - 91. Thanks again, Bondangoed - another gem.
Love love love this

For sure, one of the most beautiful, and under-rated, songs ever made.
Someone should remix this for 2011.

The whole place was a group hug.
Never forget the crush to get in, the sweaty nights at the back or the random parties after.
