This was Battle Isle 2. Battle Isle 2200 was the American title for the Battle Isle 3 game. Why they called it Battle Isle 2200 instead of 3 is beyond me. It was probably the decision of the blonde Smurfette who worked as "Marketing Manager" at the time.
I believe this is the disk version, not the CD version. One of the differences was that the rotating units were replaced by just one picture
Nice, I remember this game. Turn-based strategy game with tons of futuristic units.
My tanks crossed a river that turned to ice, didn't notice the weather changing to hot and lost some of my tanks that got submerged in the water after the ice melted. ROFL.

I remember the intro music being better than this - albeit in that sort of very plodding, 'German' way - reminiscent of the Das Boot soundtrack.
