@rforracing I dont cycle at that slow a speed. I cycle at an average of 25mph on the flat in 30 zones.
And reading some of your comments on others videos I'm not sure you're entirely clued up on any kind of road craft. Lastly it is illegal for cyclists to use "sidewalks" here in the UK. Infact I'm told its illegal in most of Canada.
i can understand where youre coming from, there are indeed a lot of impatient, road raging drivers about. nothing annoys me more. but at the same time, having a cyclist right in front of me doing about 12mph when there is a large footpath with no pedestrian on it is annoying as well, i just see it as pointless. if the footpath is crowded or is not wide enough for a cyclist then yes, the road is appropriate. personally, i think there should be a lot more cycling paths.
@Larry3200 In the UK (and I beleive much of the States) it is illegal to ride on footpaths.
You also have to remember that on average you'll be behind a cyclist for 12 seconds before being able to safely overtake. It rarely affects overall journey times for drivers.
Keep 'em out pal! One eye in the mirror, see what's about to happen and act on it! When you see them trying to overtake you - close the gap and stay in the middle of the road. Keep the twats out!! I'm a biker too. I'm also a blue lights and sirens driver, so my road awareness and training is second to none!
Mate, if you're keeping up with the bus, then ride in the middle of the road behind it. Then they can't overtake you.
A tip I got from an ex-motorcycle cop (did a motorcycle course back when I had a CB500), if you know you are going to go around something like a parked car, then be out well before, otherwise other road users don't know what you are going to do and will take your being on the left as an open invitation.
I do try and be as centered as possible, but sometimes I do feel safer at the side (you know like when the roads are a mess, lol).
Having said that I was dead center and keeping up with traffic yesterday and a woman in a Freelander still shot around me. Its always the same licence plate too - "MI6" LOL! I've met this one a few times, lol!
Cyclists belong on sidewalks. I have seen people cycle on sidewalks in Canada.
Cycling 15 kmh on BUSY roads will obviously make the roads dangerous for you.

ahhhh....just realised.....you're on a pushbike!! Shoudln't be on the road anyway!! You're a damn nuisance on those things!!

Nice to see police impartiality, if you are indeed an officer. ;-)

Shouldn't be on the road? Where would you like us? On the pavement? Idiot.

Pushbikes [sic] have more right to be on the road than motor vehicles, LOL. We're here only via license and privilege, bicyles are there by right.

You are indeed the pinnacle of honesty and balanced world view. I certainly hope you are NOT an officer.
I would have thought you appreciate the problems smaller vehicles face from other drivers.

Agree still pretty selfish driving.
