'Aisha (RA) said, "If anyone tells you that Muhammad (SAW) has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allah (SWT) says: 'No vision can grasp Him.' And if anyone tells you that Muhammad (SAW) knows the Unseen, he is a liar, for Allah (SWT) says: "None has the knowledge of the Unseen but Allah (SWT) ."
(Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 9, Book 93, Hadith No. 477)
What ever knowledge of the unseen the Messenger was given is described in the Qur'an. However, based on various reports of different people, we should not build our eeman on it. That said, what ever we read in history and collections based on hearsay is another story and subject to speculation and assumptions and incorrect reports.
