Wow it looked soooo much better they way you had it stock. I think those damn new number plates look cheap and if you break a fender then you gotta buy new side plates with it. Stupid investment.
Hey, I have a 02 ktm 200 exc, and was wanting to do the same thing, how much cash did you have to fork up for it the update? and also, i was wanting to put a newer head light on it, would the wiring be the same between my 02 and a 05 head light and tail light hook up just fine to my wireharness or no? thank you so much!
@poohead12345678910 probably a bit late but yes 98-02 models will take the one piece rear end but beware a certain year subframe had one side rail longer than the other so that year is not a straight swap
is this possible to do with a really old bike? like a 1991? lol I want to update its look a good bit, I'm getting new plastics and stuff at least but if this kind of thing is possible I'd much rather do this
P.S. is that the stock tank mine came with the natural color and its a lil bigger with the older shrouds(impossible to find decent graphics for) I want to swap it to make the transition back to front a bit easier(can be a real nutcracker lol) just wondering!!!
Man u rock i have a 2002 MXC 300 and am looking to do the same thing just swapped the 46 mm forks for the 48 and its nice to now the subframe is a bolt on!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't mind buying an old 98, 99 125 EXC to fiddle with, and do what you've done, then powdercoat frame, black rims, new exhaust, new tank, etc etc, and making it look like an 07.
i have always been deterred though at the thought of having to modifiy the frame to fit the 04 onwards shaped subframe, as I've had bad experiences with modded frames before!
Did yours just bolt on? Or had you done some behind the scenes prep haha.
hey mate that looks real good i just brought a 98 model 300exc that had been stacked and has missing back right plastics where the exhasut is and looks real rough but goes real wheel. how can i make it look better? will sx plastics go on ? can i put 03 plastics on ? thanks
