I have defended a lot of robbery cases as well as capital murder cases. most cap cases are murder/robbery. I can understand a long sentence (still not that long) for someone having a gun illegally, because that can lead to so many things and may fall into anyone's hands. I can't even began to compare their case to other cases, because that would be too clear to see. What about the fact that they had no priors??

@wanshei Felony theft is a 3rd degree felony and people get 3 to 10 years max for that. Plus in order for it to be felony theft, what the stole had to exceed a certain number (differs by state) and is over 1000 dollars. I think you were misinformed concerning their sentence.

Take it from HLN to tell one side of the story. These women lured two men in a dark alley way so friends of theirs could commit ARMED ROBBERY. They pointed a shotgun at the men and took their wallets. It just so happens that they only had 11 dollars cash on them between the two of them. If they would have had over a thousand dollars on them, it would still be the same crime and it would still be armed robbery. That being said, their sentences were still extreme. Even for armed robbery.
