This is exactly the same political situation in my country...the parallels are astounding, i'm a 100% we'll see the same kind of riots and social unrest here in a couple of years, maybe less.
nice video.the bad thing is that things are going worse here in greece and there is no hope in the horizon...every party is ''fighting'' for more votes & doesn't care about the people,a majority votes for these parties so they can gain anything out of it,corruption is increasing, there is no justice and equality against the law, basic sallary is 560 euros now,the age of retirement is going to be risen, all the greek media are using fear and mind control...i' m afraid of how the future will be...
Amazingly, people are still stupid or informed enough to believe that capitalism could survive with the (capitalist obviously) state. Unfortunately I'm not here to inform them.
Efxaristo poli for informing me, it's well appreciated because we only 'know' what ''they' tell us on tv. Let's all watch out for agents provocateurs!
@JonasKyratzes I think the next evolution in the human race would involve ditching the capitalist way and tryiing to find a new way. Just ask yourself, if I was an evolved race, would I really not keep the planet I live on clean just becuase it is not profitable?
@JonasKyratzes America during the 1950's is about as close as one can get to free markets.
And you saying "who has experieced "true" capitalism, then?" is an attempt to make my initial argument appear like it contains a "no true Scotsman" fallacy, when in reality I made no such mistake.
Selling off state owned companies to the highest bidder, but retaining the monopoly that company has on providing a service is about as far from capitalism as one can get.
@JonasKyratzes What should have been done is the companies SHOULD NOT have been sold, but taxpayer funding to these companies should have been cut, and new companies should be allowed to start up and provide the same service, competing for fees and customers with the former government run company.
There is a huger distinction between this and what I mentioned in the last part of my first response.
@JonasKyratzes. The United States of America experienced true capitalism prior to the industrial age and the rise of centralized banks with the corresponding corruption related to their funding folks such as Morgan and Rockefeller along with government collusion. Up to that point in time the US had the largest middle class in the world bar none. It is now that these bank made companies have become monstrous and unanswerable to the very people who's money built and sustains them... continued...
@QuantumKoala You can see this very same thing happening in your midst. The creation of the Euro is a similar thing. Greece was doing just fine till the EU began meddling in their affairs via an central international banking system and the corresponding government regulation and collusion. This is undermining the ability of the Greeks to actually produce goods and services with remunerations commensurate to the abilities of the persons who produce them. Take your money back and they beg you!
@JonasKyratzes Not many countries have, due to the fiat currencies of the Federal Reserve. The whole key to capitalism is actually having legimiate capital whereby the money is backed by gold, silver or commodities etc... America has had corporatism/cronyism for most of our history. The problems of the world are caused by a lack free markets and human liberty.
i live in turkey and i feel that i do understand this. not just because we're neighbors, our conditions are similar. privatization, budget cuts, corruption, inequity, unemployment... anyway, i wish for strength with your struggle against inequity. i refuse to believe "this is how world rolls". good luck.
You should be ashamed of yourself for talking without reading up on anything. Obviously you didn't even watch this video, which showed the intensely bad economic situation most Greek people face. Not only cannot most Greek people retire at 55, they cannot live off the miniscule pensions they get. In fact, many Greek people cannot even live off their salaries, which are 1/3 of a normal European salary while product prices are the same as in Europe.
Fact: You voted for your politicians who are insanely corrupt.
Fact: You work less hours than most civilized countries.
Fact: Your worth ethic sucks.
Fact: Your pension kicks in at 55. Keep working if it isn't enough for gods sake!
Like most people you can't take responsibility for the problems your country faces, bottom line is your people are responsible for its own problems. All the generations of laziness and corruption has finally caught up to you.
I do not understand if it's anti-capitalist riots, and not communist or anarchist, what the hell it is? I thought it's either communist or anarchist movement, and i thought that's great. But i don't know what to think now. Beat the police that's ok either way.

Please note..at 3-56 u can see Antonis Karras, teh cornerstone of PASOK and members of PASOK's national conference that liberated a young man from police's brutal arrest.
Some interesting facts though I was already familiar with it all.
You are clearly biased in favour of the Left though.
You omit to mention the deeper historical background:
- That though the Greek dictatorship was less severe than most others, it fell because Greeks are rebellious and individualistic (a good thing). And that they have a long history of rebellion against the Ottomans.
A political opinion that you dislike is not necessarily a "tirade."
Furthermore, your comments about privatisation and the "progress" that Greece made show you to be completely out ot touch with actual reality; the reality which I attempted to describe in this video. The everyday reality, that is, of Greek people.
(We've seen just how well today's economics have worked. It's called a global financial crisis.)
just wanted to say thanks for making this......as i am half greek and this gave me a better understanding of just how bad the situation is in greece for ordinary people......these politicians should be sacked and never allowed to take public office again
First off I believe they should do what they need to do to be free. With that said I will point out capitalizim is NOT to blame. The world is stuck in a system called facisim or socialized free trade which both benifit the corperations. The US government leads this market of tyranical facism. Stop calling it capitalisim or free markets. Thats been dead sence 1890. Try being completely factual. The press calls it capitalizim for a reason so the people will not look to what really worked.
all i have to say is stuff better stop cause god is watching us and by the way big brother mr cia man watching my moves god is bigger then you and he will crush u ok to whom ever is out there join me fight for truth and justice
CIA is behind those incidents (murder of Alex Grigoropoulos and Fires). They are trying to Un-stabilise the Greek Goverment which makes deals with Russia (energy pipeline) and China (Port of Pireas).
CIA you tricks doesnt count anymore. We are aware of this global terror you are trying to spread.
great video, by the way, what do you tubers think about making a comparation of the greek history and situation with the spanish one? Dont know if anyone remembers carlos, last year murdered. We had our own fascism...We have the same types of corruption either political and politial ways. Dunno just recognized my our history here. anyways salud compañeros. (translating this top material to spanish)STOP CENSURA!
notice obama has for his cabinet pick selected for almost every post, even cia head, a former clintion cabinet member. And thats "change you can count on" lol yea a change back to the bill clinton cabinet rule. with all his experience it seems the only people thats worthy for cabinet posts are old cabinet people lol. its like you got hitler and you elect goebbels for a change you can count on.what a joke
this video could have been made to describe the events in america over the last 20 years. we are circling the drain folks. the super-elite are emptying the country's piggybank while being protected by militarized police in riot gear. same. same. same.
Thanks a lot for the insight! Much better and more informative than all the mainstream media distortion.

You also omit all mention of the Late Constantine Karamanlis, who put through many of the political reforms that led to EC entry in 1981.
It was that which stabilised Greece.
He was a vitally important figure in Modern Greek history.
You also omit mention of the progress Greece made in terms of being harmonised with EU standards, culminating in the 2004 Olympics.
Finally, your tirades against privatisation show you to be out of touch with today's economics.
