@BrynBarvon they can get really stressed out before the wedding and when the important part comes they stammer and they lose balance and will fall right down somebody told me dont lock your knees if your going to pass out or you will go down as stiff as a board and straight and keep those knees loose and you will generally go down and bend the knees when you fall

Lol, I'm showing this in my science class....its because you have to stand for a very long time in one position, all the blood in your body drains to your legs. Usually the muscles in your legs are forcing blood back up to your heart so it can get to your brain again!

Standing for long periods of time with ur knees locked cuts off the blood flow to the brain, it is why in the military they teach u to stand without locking ur knees out but bend your legs slightly & every so often straighten and bend the legs to keep the blood flowing.

By locking the knees, u diminish the use of the muscles in ur legs which

normally increases the blood return from the legs. As blood pools in the

veins of ur legs, ur heart has less blood returning to be sent to the brain

That is actually true. When my former church put on Heaven's Gates, Hell's Flames a few years ago, one of the kids playing an angel had locked his knees while standing on one of the platforms and fainted in the middle of the production. There was about a 30-60 second halt until he was helped off stage to regain consciousness. All of us that played angels were told to keep our knees slightly bent since we had to stand in one position for a long period of time.

@dasroofless standing with your legs locked does NOT cut off circulation and you do not fall over that way. That's the way I stand normally and have never once fainted or cut off circulation though I've been warned it's dangerous.  That's just the way my legs are.
