  • I am glad to see that the Internet is now full of Arakanese/Rakhine songs and the Burmese love them. No one can deny that these "two languages" are linguistic twins with slight phonemic differences & that these "two races" share the same cultural/ religious backgrounds. I am Burmese with some Mon blood in my vein. I love Arakanese/Rakhine culture as much as I love Burmese, Mon & other cultures. Art, music & literature (even language) belong to the mankind & not just to a single community.

  • Come on .. people! Whether you are Arkanese or Bamar, we're from the same country. What's the point of arguing? History happened. Stuff happened. Let bygones be bygone. Peace.

  • so cool....i came here again to listen this song....i love it.. a real Arakanese feeling......

  • nice song although i didnt understand a thing

wheres is this from? those characters i have never seen before

and the metric of the song is very interesting too

im from Chile and spanish is my language but here writing in english, the international language (for shame)

    cheers from Chilean Patagonia.

  • It looks like Burmese.

A great country with great people, but a vicious and corrupt government.

  • Hi.Uzbeco, the people in this vedio are called Arkanese or Rakhaing in thier mother tounge.I have a friend from Chile. This character or letter are belongs to Arakanese People. Arakan was independance contry for 6000years

  • What? I am bamar and i know who the alphabet belongs to. It does not belong to the rakhine, it was originally from india from brahmi script. The mon had the alphabet first, then we copied it, and then you guys copied it. But anyways, I am listening to this song... and I can't tell the difference between this song and a burmese song and I am burmese! I thought rakhine speaks a different language? How come it sounds so similar?

  • But Burmese King invaded Aakan in AD1784 and the Arakan Became one of the Burma state. and the Burmese are using the same alphabet like us.however , Burmese also say that these are thier own alphabet..want to know more,do not hesitate to contact me.

  • this song make me cry.. i love it so mcuh when i was in my village and broght a lot or old time..long live U Maung Thein...
