i just love Google!!! you rule!!! now u only need to buy posterous or modify blogger to have a real easy option for the noobs. but all your apps rule i htink
Google is great, they often end up with quality products, and you can trust them to keep doing so. Once I'm done with college and done with all the programming classes i intend to take, and after a little experience, i am definitely going to look them up
I would love to know how to use google maps to solve the 'traveling salesman' problem. For Example: you need to go 4 places. I want the places ordered so it gives me either 'fastest' or 'shortest' routes. Kind of like what you might want a delivery person to do, then to wind up back 'home' where you stated from.
A lot of cities have GIS databases of urban paths which allow bikes, so adding bike support would be a data mining exercise.
Vancouver's translink has an initial project called cyclingvancouver which uses that GIS data, but it's got a few bugs such as linking a bike path to an overpass 40 feet above.
If you do implement a bicycling route finder, I'd suggest that it take advantage of downhills for easier cycle commuting.
moeh14, they are expanding all the time and are starting with heavy populated cities where Google Street View will get the most traffic. They are starting to go into suburbs as well. All this will take time but it's coming along. Check out Tokyo, Japan on Google Street View.
I don't know what happened to google maps but now it shows a lot of roads that just simply don't exist where I live. That means I gotta use mapquest now to get directions.
Google rocks

Unfortunately there are still several countries that does not support site-to-site direction, even if so obvious.
I'm going to Turkey next week, all the roads are pretty visible in the map, yet any direction request between any point is impossible.
Yet a great tool!

Still hoping for cyling directions from Google.

i love google. everything they have made is simply better than any other online programs: email, calendars, photos, maps, video, etc.
I know they didn't make youtube, but they own it :)
