  • Great vid. Thanks. Interesting and useful info. What kinds of shots do you use your 10-stop neutral density filter for - obviously you use it for long exposures, but what kind of things do you shoot with this type of filter?

Also, you mentioned your 35mm perspective control lens "slows you down" with landscape photography - what did you mean by this exactly?

    Thanks.

  • @elektriksheep

ND used for making the sea look ethereal and in cities to make streets look empty. Check out flickr to see other examples of how people have used it.

35mm PC is a back to basics lens where focus, aperture and speed all have to be chosen manually. None of the camera wizardry can be relied on.

    Thanks for comments. C

  • LOL....not too big. :-S

  • Hello,

this may seem like an easy question, do you recomend the sigma 24-70 2.8 and if so, why?

  • @cansofcoke

    Hi

If you can afford the marque version go for it. My 24-70 takes quite a lot of abuse at festivals etc and has never let me down. The results are perfectly acceptable.

  • good job!

  • I've got a sigma 18-200mm f/4-5.6 (sumthing like that), and i was woundering why did you chose Sigma lenses?

    Best regards, Christian From Australia.

  • Great vid! I know Sigma glass is not as good as Nikkor glass, but in your opinion, is it worth saving the money and going with the Sigma lenses? If they come close enough to quality Ii would rather buy both Sigma for the price of one 24-70 Nikkor. Also, is that an 85mm thread? Cause that looks like a very large filter.

  • I prefer Sigma zooms and Nikon Primes

If I were to buy a wider zoom (14-24) however it would be Nikon

Largest thread is 82mm. I use Lee Filters so only had to lay out for an adapter ring

  • @chrisfromcprimages Thanks!!!

  • so would u recomend older lense i can get 5 for 80 dollars

  • @insperationfothesoul

At this price it is worth a go. I would only go for Nikon and make sure lens is really clean. Don't want to push dirt and dust onto my sensor with a dirty zoom.

  • @chrisfromcprimages ya i did get them and i know they are clean

  • what kind of lens do you use in your portrait pictures?! thank you.

  • @MrKorean30

Depending on result I'll use the prime 50mm, the 24-70 or the 70-200. I like the effect with my 105 macro too. Great bokeh. Check out some of my images on Flickr, from here you can see the exif data.

  • Hi 24-70 2.8, 70-210 2.8 or 105 Macro

  • 24-70 2.8

    70-210 2.8

    105 Macro

  • How much did you pay for the Sigma 70-200, and do you recommend it?

  • @sandertje5656

Price is pretty irrelavent but I'd recommend the lens.

  • How much I paid is irrelevant but I wholeheartedly recommend it

  • @chrisfromcprimages I also use Nikon and the Sigma 70-200 I also use the Sigma 150 - 500. Both great lenses

  • @chrisfromcprimages I also use Nikon and the Sigma 70-200 I also use the Sigma 150 - 500. Both great lenses. I still use some Nikon glass 50mm and 300mm

  • @chrisfromcprimages wow ur an asshole

  • @MrMagician874

can't please everyone I guess. It's easy to send some random stuff on the web isn't it !

  • @sandertje5656 I have a sigma 70-200mm 2.8 (not OS) for $750 i bought it last feb 2011, i have no complaint for that price and i like it! i know they said nikon 70-200mm 2.8 is better but be ready for $2400! ouch!
