Does anyone know the composer of this particular arrangement. This sounds like the Jeanjean clarinet part but I can't find an arrangement for Wind Ensemble. Where would I get the Wind Ensemble parts? Is this not the Jeanjean? HELP PLEASE.
Reed choice is ultimately up to the individual performer, but in my experiences and through the instruction of my professors (I am a Clarinetist studying Music Education) I have been advised that the "sweet spot" in reed strength is typically a 3.5 - 4. And to the clarinetist in the video: Bravo. Excellent performance. I have a feeling I'll be hearing your name alot in the future.
Technically, reeds aren't 'harder' to play on higher sized reeds. it depends on the person. As your embouchre is trained, you get stronger, and it become truly harder on less thick reeds. Like, Im on 3 1/2 bordering on 4, but Im not quite at 4. Wow hes pretty good. :D
Playing this piece that much under tempo takes away the "wow" factor almost completely. The melody line is supposed to be a lot louder than the runs; the runs are simply there to make the piece more impressive and challenging. It changes the sound, but it shouldn't be the main focus.
This is under tempo and he is not making the melody line pop out like it is supposed to. It sounds like he's just playing it as runs, which is incorrect.
this is where every clarinetist should be in the world. Um... hey could u give me some tips on improving my tone iv'e tried everything from practicing 4 hrs on posture and breath support etc. etc. but it hasnt gotten to the tone that i want plz help!
what size of reed are you using? i use a 3 and i'm usually fine. make sure your ligature isn't too tight and use a good FULL sound. you shouldn't hear air or spit in the clarinet. just a nice clean sound. hope I helped! best of luck to you.
No no no, never think "eeee" in your throat! Maybe in the position of your tongue, but certainly not your throat. That makes your tone thin and you'll sound like an amateur. Always thing "ohhh" with your throat to keep it nice and open.
haha my teacher takes points off my grade for bad posture hehe but i dont like her anyways she gives us homework! but i use a 2 1/2 because its a little easier to use but this year ill be using my secondary instrument the bass clarinet have fun! hehe
I've just switched to playing the bass clarinet from the regular. Playing the bass for me has made it easier to play the Bb clarinet at home so I switched to a 3 reed. You should too, it might be harder but you get a finer sound!
ehh most of that is slurred... making it easier to focus on moving the fingers instead of splitting focus on articulating and moving fingers but not bad at all
Greater Fort Worth Band?! I'm in Fort Worth and am planning on joining that band soon! :D

reed strength has very little to do with skill level. it's all about the mouthpiece facing, instrument and the structure of the person playing.

try keeping your chin down.
that makes your tone quality sound AMAZING(:
