Will forever be one of my favorite Rock albums. Never will you hear better use of feedback and it sounds glorious all over the record. "When You Mile" is just awesome, but yeah, you pretty much have to hear this from start to finish. No filler at all, and the band's next album, "Medicine Show" is pretty great in it's own right and is getting a re-release this year. Please, PLEASE discover this band if you call yourself a Rock fan!
I've always loved this track - the whole album is awesome. But unfortunately this version of Halloween is a little speeded up... did you have the pitch shift on your turntable on?

The solo is fucking bossy. Something tells me Sonic Youth were influenced by this band. You can hear it in their song Schizophrenia, it has similar chord progressions.
This and "White Light/White Heat" from the Velvet Underground, and let's not forget "Funhouse" by the Stooges or REM's "Murmur" or "Under the Big Black Sun" by X. Damn, so much good music in the 80s.
Great band spent alot of time at Ragis thanx to Tony t and live shows were clean sounding as good as there records but never failed I always got stuck behind the cement pole didn't mater these guys are timeless touch of this band kind of v u but I think if you seen them live they were fn great on there own
one of my top 5 albums ever. this was a natural progression for me from the velvet underground. forever grateful to the guy at the record store all those years ago who turned me on to this. genius.
Never saw the Precoda version of the Dream Syndicate, but I saw the later incarnation with Paul Cutler (45 Grave) on guitar a half dozens times. Halloween was always a live show highlight, Wynn and Cutler really know how to do the wild guitar freakouts.
What a great song!!

@BxOxIxNxK
Sorry to be a nit-picky snob, but Radiohead has a touch of Dream Syndicate, not the other way around.
Either way, it is a good thing to like DS. :)
