Does anyone have any idea where I can watch the entire series in english? I've been looking everywhere for it but I can't even find the DVD of the series in english anywhere. Would love to watch it again, it was one of my favorite series.

@ClareSilverEyes It isn't bad - as for Polish dub... Animation is quite good... but nah. It's nothing like the original Valerian comic books.

@bongolongo Yeah, unfortunately. I grew up with original Valerian comics, and I loved them - actually, I didn't even know they've made an animated series of it. , This Laureline looks nothing like the original one... :/

Heh, it's funny how they had to change the engines on the timeship to a new style because Star Wars ripped them off so now the original looks too much like the Millenium Falcon.

I have to say... British voice actors in an animated series just always grate on my nerves, and I'm British!

But seriously, British voices in an animated series always seems to give that series a sort of... "amateur" vibe. Or is that just me?

I love the books and i'm disappointed with the trailer. Looks too much "anime" and misses all the style from the books.

@sagan1976 Well this IS an actual Japanese anime series collaborated with the French... but art style is very western looking for an anime series. Oban Star Racers was another such venture that is really good as well. "Looks too much anime" is a really vague term though - art style in anime runs the whole gamut, from best graphic novels to weird.

I have not read the source material, but I will say if Time Jam: Valerian & Laureline is ever is available on DVD it will be a definite purchase.

Hopefully (since I just got into Valerian) I can enjoy the anime as much as the book like some other series that I've read. In other cases, I've lucked out and saw the series/movie first so I can enjoy it for what it is and then really enjoy the book which is almost always (and in this case) better.

Guys this was really a good series and the people behind it worked hard. Although it isn't faithful to the original, its targeting a different audience. I mean if it had failed to attract its targeted base audience, then yeah its bad. However I think this animation did an upstanding job.

Yes please... take my favorite childhood comic book heroes and turn them into sleazy looking anime characters, add some cheesy 3d sequences, ridiculous voice acting and squish it all together in a cheap series :\

I'm waiting for a big budget Hollywood movie of any of the comic albums, there's enough great stories there to make a Star Wars or Star Trek type series of movies.

I'm sorry but I just cannot fathom this Franco-Japanese abortive distortion of a masterpiece created by Mezieres and Christin. Though the technology looks accurate, the characters and their twisted personalities should never have gone beyond the shores of Japan. I dearly hope Luc Besson's interpretation is far superior to this lost cause.

of course there are good anime!I really don't like people who say that hate anime even though most of them have never really watched any!try watching Code Geass or Death note or Bleach or Evangelion or Clannad or.... and then come back and say that you still hate anime!These new series with Valerian sure have some influences from Japanese anime styles but still that's not so bad!The art is good and the scenario is also good so.....i don't think it's TOP but it sure can be enjoyable!

It's too freaking anime-ish. The motions, the facial expressions, teeth, hair, mouth, jumping, legs, it's all wrong wrong wrong. This is highly highly bastardized. The comics portray a completely different tone and atmosphere.

Dismal failure. Insulted. Disappointed.

I generally hate anime to begin with, because just about anything I've seen in it, is stupid beyond belief on so many levels, how anyone can tolerate it makes me be ashamed to be human. That bad.

I grew up with Ravian (Valerian) and always have felt it in a certain way.

To bring anime and Valerian (Ravian) together, and with Japanese cartoon personalities on top of that, is one of deepest insults I've experienced.

However decided that should burn in hell.

Well, there are good animes like "Ghost in the Shell" or "Neon Genesis Evangelion". But I also grew up with "Valerian und Veronique" (as it is called in Germany) and seeing this is a severe disappointment.

This anime starts airing today in France from what I've read on an anime website. But I do not know for anywhere else. I think it'll be the same date for Japan... I do not know yet... Anyway, it's a France/Japan coproduction so...

The French version is better than the English version... I can't wait to see if there'll be a Japanese version (Japan + fansubs = the best).

Not always true. I like subtitled videos, but never considered them as the best. Since I'm not a Japanese speaker, I can't say that all Japanese dubbing is better than other versions. Who knows? They maybe a native Japanese fan who may think that their voice acting is terrible. Like Japanese dubbed western movies. Fansubs? Oh please. Some of them are so literal that you may think, "do people talk like that?"

It's like a cross between the original comics and a Japanese anime. I liked the voices though. Very unusual (possibly unique) in that the English dub has English rather than American accents.
