@LLAproductions lemme clear up some misunderstandings. "VY1" and "VY2" are genderless but to an extent.
the company purposefully created vy1 and vy2 to be genderless. that's why unlike the other vocaloids it does not have a character design officially. However!!!! the company did admit themselves, that vy1 was designed to be "feminine" in terms of vocals. in result, vy2 was designed to be masculine and beat all other male vocals. so vy1 is technically female. "technically" but not really.
Good Lord, the comment section baffles me yet again. Every Vocaloid vid should come with a disclaimer to check the Vocaloid Wiki before anyone goes ahead and repeats the same questions or misinformation for the nth time. yamaha wanted to produce a high quality vocal bank for professional producers to use. they created the VY series to be genderless, faceless, and nameless. VY1 has been confirmed "feminine" and VY2 has been confirmed "masculine". this "mizki" character was what the VY series is trying to avoid.
@Nekachka & @pianoaddict96 Yes, "sounds like". I think it's the intensity of the voice that makes it sound like Luka, since the accent really shows the difference.
The full version of this song I got when I bough the album is one of the greatest Vocaloid songs ever made in my opinion. It never gets old and even a few of my friends who don't even listen to this kind of music or know what Vocaloid is say that this song is pretty good. CUL/Mizki/VY1's version of this song kicks the crap out of Luka's version.
@watchanime100 Well Yamaha actually intended VY1 to be a high quality voicebank on purpose for professional usage. So its strange because with VY1 it wouldn't matter whether it was new or not because it was going to have a great quality voice anyways.
@LLAproductions Well, When low-pitched (-20) in audacity, she..I mean he..uuh.. IT, has quite a smexy male voice. Therefore I call it (The low pitched) Mizuro as the male genderbender and Mizuki as the female (when normal). But no one really made a genderbender video yet XD
@1313Destiny1313 I think that is partly because they are releasing so many so quickly right now and we aren't getting much time to get used to their unique and individual sounds and all we can hear is the similarities. Though I do agree that many of them sound quite similar.
@pianoanime its just so iritating. i get excited when i hear there is a new vocaloid and then i listen to it and it sounds exactly like the last one they released. the only female vocaloids that sound unique right now is original miku, luka, miki, rin, lily and gumi. i wish they would find people with unique voices to make voice banks from now on so their vocaloids would sound unique >.<
@1313Destiny1313 What about Meiko? Her voice is definitely unique compared to the others. And there's also Miriam, Sweet Anne, SONiKA, Lola, and Prima.
In this video, Mizki sounds like Luka, but in others sounds like Miku. The voicebank is versatile and can even sound male, so he/she is bound to sound like the other Vocaloids. It's like how people get Miki and Miku mixed up sometimes--with more and more Vocaloids and ways to modify them, there are bound to be similarities in quality.
@ShimaGenki its just the breathyness that people put on her that mae her sound like luka and miku append is a perfect example of the breathyness making her sound like tako luka. and i do think that sonika has a unique voice i just dont really like her because most of the songs i have heard of hers the users didnt make her pronunciate and that bothers me :| and i love meiko and sweet ann and miriam :)
Hmm... I like Mizki's voice, but it sounds a lot like some of the female Vocaloids that already exist (not only the name's similar when it comes to Miki...). If Mizki's really unisex, I want to hear some male-sounding songs.
I guess you're right. Although I have noticed Crypton paying attention to their fans a bit more than other companies. (Like how Crypton made character items official along with Hachune and Tako Luka.)
I realize all this. But keep in mind that males aren't the only Vocaloid users out there. Besides, you've seen how popular Len's gotten. He has as many fans as any female Vocaloid has. (Excluding Miku, ofcourse.)
You're right though, complaining won't get us anywhere, but it doesn't hurt to share our opinions with eachother.
I suppose I should've been more specific when talking about gender ratios. I was mainly refering to the Japanese Vocaloids.
I'm excited to learn more about this unisex Vocaloid~ And I'm so curious to hear the male voice :) Or unless, this Vocaloid's a shota rofl. (But don't we have Len for that? /shot)
@lollylovex3 Its one voicebank... That has "no form of identity" (yeah... Nice pink box art and nice traiditional female items...) such as gender, face and "set voice". Although, its noted she was orginally put out as "female" despite her series intention, so on the bank of the people who will accept "female". Female sounding voice... And as for "set" well, Mizki has a default. It almost is an epic failure of intention. :-/
okey so there are Miku,Meiko,Kaito,Rin/Len,Gakupo,Luka,Gumi,Kiyoteru,Miki,Yuki,Lily,Leon,Lola,Sweet Ann,Big Al,Miriam,Prima,Sonika,Tonio right? just now heard something about new one Rio and now i found this Mizki o.o will be those 2 new official ones?
Mizki is not going to have a set gender, face or even voice. All the trials I've heard sound different from each other, so I'm assuming that there are settings to change the voice, also assuming that it can be changed to sound like a male ... But I haven't ran into a demo that proves that yet.
People. Mizki doesn't have a gender. "It" is not intended for pretty artwork- no. Just for song making. Mizki doesn't have to have a gender- Mizki is just a voicebank with no image. It is a female voicebank, but it could be modified to sound like a male, or maybe, a male voicebank will be released next. Sure, think what you want, but right now, Mizki is just a voicebank.
Mizki is not a girl nor is it a boy. Mizki is an it.
'Mizki is intended for professional musicians and according to Yamaha intended to be a high quality voicebank. The concept behind the Vocaloid was that Mizki would be part of a series designed to set the standard by being a voicebank with no set gender, face or voice and would be a vocalist to complete any song.'
@cosmiclucky Once she becomes big, and Vocaloid fan artists get a liking to her, she wont be an 'it' anymore. I've already started a fan sketch of her.
Um, god no. It will still be an it because other fanatists will make it a boy if they want. You can't say it's a she or a he if people are going to depict it as both at the same time.
@cosmiclucky Firstly, "it" sounds like a woman to me, besides, there's plenty of gender bend Vocaloid characters, I'm sure "it" will be no exception in the near future.
Seriously. God why. why am I even TELLING YOU THIS.
THAT'S BECAUSE THIS IS AN EXAMPLE/EXAMPLE WHICH IS WHY IT SOUNDS LIKE A GIRL, HOWEVER WHEN THE PROGRAM IS RELEASED YOU CAN CHANGE THE PITCH LIKE THE OTHER VOCALOID PROGRAMS WHICH IS WHY IT DOESN'T HAVE A GENDER.
And how the HELL can you make a gender bend out of something that doesn't have a gender? And there's going to be more character design fanartists other than you so YOU STILL can't make a genderbend. /lostmycool
@cosmiclucky I already knew about the genderless ambiguity, and the ability to use both male and female vocals. I'm just explaining fans will easily be able to separate VY1 with a male and female counterpart, regardless of it's lack of gender. I'm just saying despite the fact it is genderless, an unnoficial fan art will eventually be the standard for VY1, people can find their way around it. For all we know it can become a transvestite who accidentally forgets to speak like a woman at times.
Maybe it's Rin's Append...? [shrug] Unlikely, because Crypton's not a part of this. It's a really pretty sounding Vocaloid, in any case. Even if it doesn't sound very realistic (like they used a voice actor instead of a singer like Crypton would) and it does sound like Miku and Luka. I actually think that's pretty cool, because it's like "buy one Vocaloid, get one free".
@AmyChan40 ctually, she has both male and female voicebank ^^ ( judging from what it says on the website and on the wiki, she is a vocaloid with no .. name really (mizki is just her nickname) no gender or no face, she is supposed to be used by pro vocaloid users, she has very clear prenounciation (never could spell that word) and very high quality voicebank.
@AmyChan40 Hey, VY1 Mizki IS both Male AND female!! >3< And maybe he/she IS a guy?? Don't judge just like that without having seen her/his face yet (even if she/he's not going to get a design...):'< I think Mizki's a boy. And anyway, it doesn't matter. She/he's supposed to be genderless.
@AmyChan40 There is a project running right now for a new male vocaloid, he doesn't have a name yet and nothing is known except his voice actor also played a role in Final Fantasy XIII
@AmyChan40 Almost all of the existing male vocaloids sound like they have some sort of Nasal blockage or something or like colds. Except Len well technically, he's based from the same person who sampled Rin.
@AmyChan40 Actually, by technicality, Mizki doesn't count as a female vocaloid- it has no set gender, actually, as expressed by the company themself. So basically, Mizki's a trap.
@PandaChan80 i know.. =_=" i already got more than 20 comments telling me that. thank you for the reminder. its just that. THAT vocaloid sounds like a FREAKING GIRL. im sorry, but its true.
@AmyChan40 They say that CV04 from Crypton is a male vocaloid and the person who gave the voice voiced a character from Final Fantasy XIII. The best guess of the fans was Yuuki Kaji, but it hasn't officially been announced yet.
I'm afraid I've changed my mind yet again. This sounds just like any other of otetsu's songs with Luka. It's his own style different style that can lead you to believe the voice is a mixture or a completely new Vocaloid.
The voice sounds all right, I guess. But I doesn't really pop out. It's just plain. I'm curious to see the mascot character design for this new Vocaloid.
@mangakaD We're going to get two more Vocaloids at the least, either way. And if Crypton or Internet or those folks who made Miki, Yuki, and Kiyoteru should mysteriously go bankrupt or decide to stop making Vocaloids, someone else can easily make more. I don't see why you're speaking as if the existence of Vocaloid was endangered.
I wonder what that 'Mizki' thing is. I'm pretty sure of one thing, VY1 stands for 'Vocaloid Yamaha 1', maybe hinting it's a Vocaloid made by Yamaha themselves.

AmyChan40 1 year ago
@AmyChan40 They are in the process of making a male adult vocaloid CV04. He's yet to be named, but they released some voice samples some time ago.

@AmyChan40 She is a genderless. So its a he/sh and you can make her/him to a sexy boy vocaloid
PandaChan80 1 year ago

@AmyChan40 They say that CV04 from Crypton is a male vocaloid and the person who gave the voice voiced a character from Final Fantasy XIII. The best guess of the fans was Yuuki Kaji, but it hasn't officially been announced yet.

I'm afraid I've changed my mind yet again. This sounds just like any other of otetsu's songs with Luka. It's his own style different style that can lead you to believe the voice is a mixture or a completely new Vocaloid.
I geuss only time will tell what this VY1 is...
CosmicX1 1 year ago
Song reminds me of one of Luka's but the voice sounds new, I wonder if this will be Vocaloid Yamaha 1 (as apposed to Crypton Vocaloid 01, 02, 03...)

Luka Append?
freelancenlnn 1 year ago
Isn't this Luka's song?
LoveTezuka27 1 year ago
I believe this is a splice technology, not a Vocaloid.
Sutorumie 1 year ago
Actually could this be a vocaloid splicing project? Because this one sounds like Luka and Miku, and the other demo song sounds like Miku and Rin.
In-fact I have no idea....
CosmicX1 1 year ago
I would say this is like a voice-bank upgrade for Miku but we've already got append, so you'd think Crypton would let Miku lie for awhile....

hmm...the sounds like Miku and Luka Synchronized....hmmm....oh well I better wait for more info.

LMAO I just thought this was a joke and just Miku... well I hope VY1 will be a bit better then this XD
Kitty2two 1 year ago
Hmmm, I'm hearing a mix of Miku and Luka.
Interesting. Maybe she'll be good. :D
sparkadillia 1 year ago
I don't see why you all compare instead of compliment (maybe) a NEW VOICE!
I don't hear a single other Vocaloid in this; each voice sounds unique.
But back on topic, it's a nice voice. Sounds fit for ballads and jazz, perhaps.
Icelilac1 1 year ago
It's very pretty. It sounds like a refined version of Luka's. Can't wait for the full version.

The voice sounds all right, I guess. But I doesn't really pop out. It's just plain. I'm curious to see the mascot character design for this new Vocaloid.

Oh my god everyone shut up and be happy with what we are getting
mangakaD 1 year ago 4
@mangakaD i love you.
Tyetyez 1 year ago
@mangakaD We're going to get two more Vocaloids at the least, either way. And if Crypton or Internet or those folks who made Miki, Yuki, and Kiyoteru should mysteriously go bankrupt or decide to stop making Vocaloids, someone else can easily make more. I don't see why you're speaking as if the existence of Vocaloid was endangered.

@Totalidiocy I was saying people should be grateful for what they given.

Sounds like Luka and Lily to me.

...Is it just me or are all the new Vocaloids sounding the same? :/
And the gender ratio countinues to be way off balance.
FerretGirl3 1 year ago 48
I wonder what that 'Mizki' thing is. I'm pretty sure of one thing, VY1 stands for 'Vocaloid Yamaha 1', maybe hinting it's a Vocaloid made by Yamaha themselves.
SUNKiSSDROP 1 year ago
she sounds like a mix of miku and luka... maybe even miki

Q_Q Hello there Luka.
I would reeeeeeally like some more male vocaloids, Yamaha. ;w;
kazevee 1 year ago 2
fffff.
You could pretty much duplicate this song using Luka. :| it sounds exactly the same.
We need more male vocaloids; the females are all starting to sound alike at this point.
