@TheGuitarist4181 actually fish do sleep, just don't do it like we do by laying down, but they do enter into a calm recuperative state just like sleep for us. evidence of this can be seen that most fish die from stress when the light is kept on them 24/7 for prolonged time. imagine if you had no eyelids and light was in your eyes 24/7. plus all animals (except those in the abyss of the oceans) have rhythmic night and day cycles.

Deep sea fish are amazing. The deeper you go, the weirder stuff gets. This one looks pretty pointless, though... What on Earth could he be using those stilts for? Fish can swim, it's not like they need to sit down every so often.

Did you read the description at all? Those aren't stilts, they're fins, and the fish uses them to sense vibrations to hunt.

FYI,,, those "stilts" are used for catching prey because tripod fish eats crustaceans which are not common when you go deeper on the sea thats why to save energy on finding food they will "stand" using their stilts and re position themselves against the current and wait for the prey to bump on the tripod fish...
