i love how everyone claims these things are such POS, yet go to the race track and look around and see how many 8 second fox body mustangs there are how many dirt track racers use fox body mustangs? in my area quite a few of each. because you can setup the mustang to drag race really easy and cheap plus its light weight, great race car. stock looks stock stock is stock but who has a stock mustang?? who keeps their mustang stock on purpose??? nobody. this car is meant for mods personalization
@josh4208750 not to mention there are cheap as hell to built up and very easy to find parts for. you can go into any parts store and they have anything you need for a 5.0
I don't like the way they designed these Mustangs from the late 70s through the late 80s. They look like granny cars instead of hot rods. My brother drove an '86 Mustang and I was never impressed with it.
@clemsontigers95 If you take a buddy along and make a run at that speed with a stop watch, you'll find that such a level of acceleration actually feels pretty quick. I had a Crown Victoria that did 0-60 in about 10 seconds, and it felt like a rocket! The automotive press has misled us into thinking that "fast isn't fast" anymore, and we've paid the price by having fuel consumption figures that are far higher than they should be right now...
Most of these Mustang's came with the regular 4 cylinder engines, I thought Ford made a big mistake by replacing the 2.8 Liter V6 engine with the 3.3 Liter in line six engine halfway through the 1979 model year, I thought the 2.8 engine was more powerful
most of american cars from mid 70's to late 80's are crap, especially the Mustang

Heard this song on the radio one day and this commercial came to mind. I was 11yrs. old and thought this was the most amazing car in world.

... and for the following 25 years the Mustang didn't look sporty, Mustang-y or exciting.

1979-1980 mustangs were gutless, the v8 was a 4.2L and made only 115hp or so, pathetic.
mitch9521 6 months ago
@mitch9521 The '79 had a 302 V8. I drove one off the lot that year. They reduced the size of the engine the next year.

I wonder if FORD paid The Steve Miller Band for using their song Swingtown. Whoa
Whoa
Come on and dance
Come on and dance
Lets make some romance
You know that night is falling
And the music is calling
And we've got to get down to swing town

@TheLizardKing1967 Haha That was a Good Song, I Always did like Steve miller ...Ford Probably offered Him a NEW 79' Mustang LOL
jakesaintsrow123 5 months ago
It was so slow that instead of putting 0-60mph they had to put 0-50mph because it took annother 4secs to get up to 60mph...

@EarForceTutorials Everything from 1979 was Judged 0-50 Instead of 0-60....It changed later

It's fairly nice looking, but they shouldn't have called it a "Mustang".
MattTheSaiyan 1 year ago
@MattTheSaiyan Yea they should have called it a CIVIC just like the one you own.

@quebestiadecarro I don't have the product you just mentioned, and I find your attempt at an insult to be childish.

Granted, that's a cheap price, $5000, but that's when Mustang's were starting to get more gutless, I think they even had a 4-banger option!
