i have no much more information about aslam insari,poetry but i can say that he is a great poet because this ghazal is a sighn of his rare and great thoughts. iqbal bano sang very very well it can not be more better than this composing, i have heard many tmes this ghazal and every time i feel a new enjoy . ithink it is mixture of 2 or3 rags kirvani mian ki malahar , and little touch bhairo, but its rare toilented composition and thinking of his great craeation

DOCUMEMT: I selected this ghazal of Aslam Ansari, in 1972 & recorded at Radio Multan *Dekhte Rehna,Yehi Ho Ga, Ke Mar Jaein Gay Ham* At that time, it was a verse ONLY, now, became a SAD fact. Aslam Ansari should post his comment, further. Then i composed another ghazal of Amjad Islam Amjad in 1975 on the desire of Iqbal Bano. She sang in Solo Concert on my invitation. I falt pride in this, RATHER than, a position as Station Director, Radio Lahore, till Jan 2006.Khalid Asghar.

Iqbal Bano left us, it is a great sad news. She rendered many Hit songs & received immense appreciation. Her art can be rated as " Indivdualist " She was a fine extremely sophisticated personality, i met her in her home.She played her songs for me, using her tape recorder, connected with Hi Fi speakers and invited me to listen to this up loaded item in1973, where as Mr. Khalid asghar composed & produced this item in1972 at Radio Multan. I did my first compering at Pearl Continental Lahore and invited Madam Iqbal Bano on stage ,the memories of that night are still fresh in my mind ...there are no words to share the feelings of this loss .I loved her and will always .
Though it is a sad news that one of the best ghazal cum thumri singers of the subcontinent died. I have had the pleasure of singing with her in a private mehfil. She appreciated my effort. She had a different, deep and tuneful voice. When I was in Bombay in 1964 and Khayyam saheb appreciated her song Ulfat Ki Nai Manzil that had captured the Bollywood guys. Khalid Asghar must be feeling lucky that he had honour of recording this beautiful ghazal in her voice that has become a memory to cheris.

It is a very sad day for me. I composed this ghazal for Madam Iqbal Bano in 1972, when i was Prog; Producer at Radio Pakistan, Multan.I requested her on phone for this recording. She did not know me. She asked the name of Composer. I said, i composed. She was surprised, how it possible. She asked, can i sing on phone. I started singing. She immediately replied " I am coming, please do not go " She came, rehearsed and sang on the same day, She was extremely happy. That was a fine day. now left us

It was shocking to hear of the demise of this great singer. She gave us such great pleasure through her nice songs/ghazals during her her lifetime. We all pray she rests in peace in the other world. Ameen.
