It would have been immoral not to drop the 2 bombs...the alternative would have been greater death and suffering. Have a look at the estimated casualties of a conventional invasion of Japan that would have been required to force it to surrender. Then get back on your soap box and shout the truth this time.

The bombing had good and bad effects. First off, it's is obviously wrong to kill innocent lives, but on the other hand there's no way Japan would surrender and stop fighting if this hadn't happened. In other words, WW2 shouldn't have happened in the first place.

@Billerobreren I don't usually comment on stuff like this in youtube comments but just a couple of historic facts you've gotten mixed up that I -have- to correct, it's driving me nuts.
1. The United States was NOT "at war" during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After they temporarily amended the American Neutrality Act they did offer limited support to British and Chinese forces, and traded resources but they were still a neutral power until Pearl Harbor.THAT's when they officially entered the war
2. I'm not sure what you're implying by saying that Germany did the "honorable thing" by "staying in their turf", but they did basically take over pretty much all of mainland Europe by violent force and were attempting to break into England and Russia all through the war, so they didn't stay on any kind of turf really they were on expanding conquest.

The reason the Atomic bomb wasn't dropped on Germany wasn't because they didn't "do us", its because they already surrendered a few months prior to the Atomic Bomb prototypes' completion. Plus bombing Germany would have been impractical anyways because of the close proximity to allied powers.
And the bomb wasn't some petty revenge like that either, it was meant to demoralize so a bloody invasion would be avoided.

In fact there´s written proof that Roosevelt knew about the attack prior to it but didn´t do anything to stop the Japanese fleet cause he needed that attack to happen.
And the A bomb use wasn´t to stop the war (Japan already had lost it) it was a move performed in order to impress the USSR wich by the end of WW II was already becoming to be seen as USA next enemy.

The bombing had good and bad effects. First off, it's is obviously wrong to kill innocent lives, but on the other hand there's no way Japan would surrender and stop fighting if this hadn't happened. In other words, WW2 shouldn't have happened in the first place.

@Billerobreren I don't usually comment on stuff like this in youtube comments but just a couple of historic facts you've gotten mixed up that I -have- to correct, it's driving me nuts.
1. The United States was NOT "at war" during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After they temporarily amended the American Neutrality Act they did offer limited support to British and Chinese forces, and traded resources but they were still a neutral power until Pearl Harbor.THAT's when they officially entered the war

2. I'm not sure what you're implying by saying that Germany did the "honorable thing" by "staying in their turf", but they did basically take over pretty much all of mainland Europe by violent force and were attempting to break into England and Russia all through the war, so they didn't stay on any kind of turf really they were on expanding conquest.

The reason the Atomic bomb wasn't dropped on Germany wasn't because they didn't "do us", its because they already surrendered a few months prior to the Atomic Bomb prototypes' completion. Plus bombing Germany would have been impractical anyways because of the close proximity to allied powers.
And the bomb wasn't some petty revenge like that either, it was meant to demoralize so a bloody invasion would be avoided.

@Billerobreren And on a personal note, I don't really want to patronize you but I have to say it's pretty arrogant to say something like "they had it coming" in relation to this particular movie/story. The Japanese government itself had it coming most likely, but the point of this story is that the common...largely ignorant public had to pay for it the worst. It's supposed to be a lesson that applies to any country's people really.

@Kiyosuki every war has its tragic casualties if the japs had access to this technology what makes you think they would have never used it on us they were greedy and did pretty much what the Germans were doing in Europe & what we did during the Monroe doctrine, I'm not saying they deserved it cuz they were civilians & find someone who cares about your facts their attack was a slap in the face period. hopefully another bombing doesn't happen again

In my opinion, if Pal and lindberg still alive,shitty mess will be solved peacefully.they will say the Neutrials treaty was abosolutely technically violated by JB355.It meams that it was not War but criminals using 2 atomic bomb to steal their skulls and gold teeths and to protect western colonialism.

this is nothing compared to the holocaust, or what the americans did to the indians.
this is a kid screaming in pain, and it happened, the others died in a second.
ofcourse it did hurt people years after but..
The nazis litterally cut up living children in front of their moms and made one jew, kill another. In my opinion, this isn't half as bad as so many other war crimes comitted.
