@zversus LOL Z, funding my AC kit addiction is the only reason I get up for work in the morning. That been said, I've my eye on something very special being release by Volks in a few months,
I'm working on the Armored Core Noblesse Oblige at the moment (its a fantastic model), I should be finished in about two weeks. If you liked the paint scheme I gave the Kotpbukiya Ikaruga kit, you might like this upcoming model.
@Wizartar Thanks, the main armor is Rustoleum Heirloom White, its actually appears to have a hint of grey, nice shade and far more forgiving that the matt white I've used recently (which seams to shows up every smudge, finger print and blemish!).
How you keeping by the way, how the big construction project coming along, will the extension be finished by the end of the year?
@tc012009 Big project is just about done; Kitchen should be fitted Wednesday and other bits of painting by the end of the week. That's the builders finished. The in the room where I do the reviews, I then need to strip wallpaper, polyfill holes left from old wardrobes, sand then paint. Followed by buying new carpet and 7 Ikea glass cabinets! so the fun of filling them can begin =D Planing an update video before Xmas and then back to building and reviewing by the new year.
@tc012009 Will also have a permanently home for an airbrush in my attic. Been dying to try it out after seeing what can be done with spray-paints, really looking forward to having something that allows more control over colouring; plus now having the room to leave drying paints that's out of the way. Just need to pick up a stray booth.
While the project was over 8 months d last 2 involved construction. Spent 3 weeks without a kitchen, it was like camping out in my own house! :S Happy it's over
Seriously awesome work bro.... I think your detailing and painting style is much more suited to the kits such as Zoids & AC.... Not that your Gundam work isnt good bro! Just they dont hold the level of detail as the Koto kits... Atleast thats what ive seen so far.
Your metallic work is getting better and better and im really jealous of your skill bro. Thanks a tonne for sharing... super inspiring as always!
@kamniks Thanks for the great feedback Kamm, the additional sculpt detail on Kotobukiya models are the main attraction I find with these kits. A lot of time detailing is no more difficult that "coloring between the lines", but I particularly enjoy this type of model and they offer a perfect medium for my current painting skill level. I've my eye on an Iwata airbrush at the moment and hope to move up a gear over the next year.
Hows your Sazabi, it was looking magnificent in your last update
Looks great man, I love bulky suits. The color combo really works too. The song is great, im planning on using a song from the tron sound track for my dom slide show :)
@enderwiggen100 Thanks Ender, Bulky Mechs FTW IMO. The Tron soundtrack is a goldmine for display slideshows, there isn't a bad track on there, I'll be dipping into it again in the future? I'm looking forward to the Dom slide show.
@enderwiggen100 Thanks Ender, Bulky Mechs FTW IMO. The Tron soundtrack is a goldmine for display slideshows, there isn't a bad track on there, I'll be dipping into it again in the future? I'm looking forward to the Dom slide show.
@trejosam00 Many thanks, I actually got into the hobby via an Armored Core model (Cronus Vixen) and they have always been my favorite plamo kits.
Glad you approve of the Koto content on my channel, I've a lot of their models in my backlog of kits at the moment, I plan to continue to feature them for the foreseeable future. I hope to have a some additional Kotobukiya MuvLuv content up next week
@mobilesuit101 Thanks Sir, the GE kotobukiya group build was a fantastic opportunity to return to this model. I originally built it in 2008 and its always been a personal favorite of mine.
@DoctorTTonyChopper Thanks, I think my fondness for Armored Core models is partly because of all of the fantastic detailing opportunities Kotobukiya present with these models (and partly due to the variety in their designs) . I actually have one other Armored Core project underway and hopefully I'll have it completed later this year (it takes me between three to six weeks to finish a fully detailed model).
@tc012009 Wow only 3-6 weeks? You work fast! I like the Koto kits too, but right now I only have one, the 1/144 alteisen riese. I find they have great detail and look great, but suffer from lack of movement. Then again I'm comparing them to MG kits. :P
@DoctorTTonyChopper They make great display pieces, but articulation isn't the best. I actually have the 1/100 Altiesen (I've a review of the model on my channel) and loved the model.
I've found myself speeding up recently with detailing and an AC sized kit is now taking about three weeks. I built a Kotobukiya Zoids Dark Horn at the start of the year and that one took ages (nearly two months) to complete, I've posted a few vids showing the build if you'd like to check it out.
@Appasionata88 Thanks kind Sir, I was pleased with how this turned out. The shade of white I used on this model was much more forgiving that the shade I used on Ikaruga (which showed up every blemish).
Had a lot of fun with this and after nearly four weeks of building I'm now looking for a nice quick model for my next project, can't wait to see whats possible to achieve in a 24hr timeframe next week, are you all set?
It had been a long time since i built an armored core kit, i thought i was cured! But now it's back! The cold sweats, itchy hands, and the voices...THE VOICES!!!!! Damn that Hobby link japan web site, so friendly yet so sinister. Is that you White Glint my master, MY LORD!!! Well thats $80.00 bucks gone, are you happy ARE YOU!!!!! Great job on the kit, love your work.
@gunhed70 LOL, the call and allure of the White Glint is hard to resist, the ultimate AC kit IMO, I building up my painting skills step by step before attemption mine (got to perfect weathering first). Let me know if you get the model, I'd love to hear how the build goes for you.
really funny tc i was watching tron in the background while i was watching your video here and the music from the club scene in tron was goin while your video started playin and it was the same song....how cool!!! ok lets just say i love your style of painting...everything you touch turns into a tc masterpiece!!! with so much DETAIL!!!!! kick ass work man! like i said before i really want to do some armored core kits....especially the white glint with the vob set!!
@SNEEPER1980 Love that tune, one of my favorite from the OST. Let me know if you ever get the chance to work on the Glint and VOB, I've an unbuilt set in my backlog and it might be fun to do a collaboration in the future.
I dont nkow how you do it... you impress me every time i could never do detail work like this another really great job;)
I also have a question i was thinking about getting an armored core kit and i was wondering which one you would suggest (based on poseability accessories and quality)
hey tc, we finally get to see your Atlas! You´ve done a great job, again! it´s really cool to see your take on this kit in contrast to mine, if you remember, mine is all weathered up. I guess this really is a great kit, very flexible! keep it up^^
@roccondil5 Hi Sir, I finally got around to painting this, I started it about three weeks ago and got it completed yesterday in time for the GE group build deadline!!
I certainly remember your version of the model and it was the inspiration I needed to return to the model. I was tempted to weather this, but as the paint scheme took shape I really started to like the clean finish.
Hope you are keeping well, are you working on any models at the moment?
@tc012009 well, I´m glad if my model inspired you! right now I´ve finished my PG red frame and will be starting on a MG Gyan some time soon. I hope I can make something cool out of such an ugly design, it will be quite the challenge! and there´s allways my sculptures, wish are allways ongoing^^
@fl1pme1ster Thanks Sir, this kit is one of my all time favorite Armored Core kits and I was please with how the scheme turned out. I used a darker shade of white on this model and it was a lot more forgiving that the bright white I used on the Kotobukiya Ikaruga during the summer (which showed up every blemish).
Hope you are keeing well, I loved your G-System Sazabi, a true masterpiece. Are you working on anything at the moment?
@cadderly Thanks Squee, I really enjoyed working on this one, it was one of the first kits I ever built and a real favorite of mine. I managed to break a few pegs when disassembling this and had to use glue on a few spots, lost some articulation but thankfully I managed to get it all back together.
Nice paint job. Now we need some MTs to test it out.
