  • my childhood...9th grade all over again

  • does anyone else notice that 240p vs. 360p vs. 480p....really doesnt make that big of a fucking difference? a streetlight song is still a streetlight song. FUCKING ENJOY IT.

  • 240p O.o mamaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr i hate you >:(

  • @FluffyBeastHD Well the music is HD so shut up and enjoy the song not the cover.

  • youtube should STOP FUCKING CHANGING.

  • Tomas Kalnoky can rhyme "Regurgitate" with "Hypocrite". Successfully.

  • whoa whats with all the arguing if you dont like this type of music what are you doing on youtube listening to it? jerks.

  • during this song last night at the concert Mike Brown, the bari sax player, reached out into the audiance and grabbed my hand and shook it cause we were stairing at eachother screaming the lyrics. My life = complete

  • skas gay

  • @eztoke3299 you're a fucking idiot,

ya'know, if you don't like it.. you don't have to look it up, or watch it.

  • 21 people are fucking retarded

  • i fucking love the drums.

  • K, i have looked up the lyrics, and i am nothing but dammed confused, am i on the right track if i say that this is sort of a "protest" against democracy? Or is it a complaint about bush? (it came out when he was still president) and what the hell does this sentence mean .-.

"To the west, you don't know what it is you're running from

    And everybody's laughing loud"

and lastly, don't get me wrong, i friggin love this song, and i do not only care about the lyrics :3

  • @vindu554 bro not all music has to do with politics... most of it doesnt actualy, and neither does this song... its actualy kind of exactly about wat it sounds like... and if you dont over think about the whole song, that statement should make perfect sense

  • @vindu554 i heard it was about catch 22, or part of it was.

  • @xRetroismx "If you hate me so much than stop singing my songs" Other than that no not about Catch, Thomas wont even sing that part of the song in a live show now. I've seen them twice and both times he let the crowd sing that part, I think it may be because they have settles thier differences.

  • @Jormannnnnnnn when i saw them in charlotte and greenville he sang it both times

  • I think the groove in this song has been sorely overlooked.

  • A moment of silence for those who disliked and got brutally massacred.

  • @Solidjesse You don't understand this music.

  • @APyroTurtle This music doesn't purely reflect Reggae and peaceful music as such. You must think this is for people who are going to roll up a joint and solve the worlds problems, that's cool and all... but this music, meaning Streetlight Manifesto, is about how you don't give a shit and what is acceptable and not, this isn't saying they're grieving for some haters, no fuck people who hate this beautiful thing from god called ska

  • @Solidjesse I know this isn't all peaceful and what not, I mean when you said brutally massacred it makes it go in a different direction.

  • @Solidjesse dude settle down we know streetlights awesome thats all i care about

  • @Solidjesse nope, they dont deserve it

  • intensity in all ten cites

  • anybody know the lyrics to this?

  • @MOPPP3

    Step 1: Go to google

Step 2: search for A Moment Of Silence lyrics

    Herp-dee-fucking-derp, you got lyrics.

  • A moment of silence...OR ILL KICK YOUR BUTT IM FRICKEN HUNGRY AND TIRED GO MAKE MEH A SAMMICH ( no pun ntended towards girls i really want a sammich )

  • i remember when i saw streetlight a few months ago i was on my friends shoulders as a moment of silence was ending, then tom just stared at me for a good 30 seconds and goes "...well this is awkward isn't it?" and waited for me to get down before starting a moment of violence haha. glad to see he cares about his fans safety

  • @pinkelf6669 HA! kalnoky is a beautiful soul i'm glad you and your friend didn't get completely annihilated.

  • I always have to listen to this song first then finish it off with some violence...its the way to do it...

  • 21 people suck dick

  • This is my favourite of their songs

  • not bad i can appreciate it even if its not exactly my taste in music

  • A moment for all those innocent souls who lost their lives ten years ago. 9-11-01

  • @xRetroismx Well said.

  • @xRetroismx The greatest pig roast of are time never forget.

  • This song makes me cry so hard :'(

  • this is such a chill song. just a head-bobbing, mellow, chill song. i'm loving it

  • Did Tom write this song about his old band? Think about it. "If you hate me then stop singing my songs".

  • @thesmwassup that's the impression I got too

  • @thesmwassup I think he added it into the song after leaving Catch 22 because they still perform a lot of the same songs, but when you think about it they were pretty much the exact same band but each performs a little differently; like at a faster pace or whatever

  • @thesmwassup yes he did. he was tired of their bullshit. this was a "reply" to =a catch song. forgot which one

  • Whatever.

  • Way too many elitists.

  • Who the fuck cares where ska came from. The only thing that matter is it's here and it's staying. So take the dick out of your ass and listen to the god damn song.

  • Shut up and just listen.

  • the reaper tipped the hourglass

  • i hate this band its to awesome!!!!

  • I just broke up with my boyfriend.

Instant thought; "LISTEN TO SKA. YOU'LL FEEL BETTER!"

  • by the way, imma have a quick "moment of vioence" with the 21 people that disliked this song. :3

  • this is so sick

  • @peachypreacher hypnotized indeed. :3

  • this is not very silent...

  • are they from america?

  • Ok don't get mad at me youtubers but am I the only one that doesn't really consider this ska. I know they are punk ska but idk an upstroke and guitar and a horn section doesn't make ska.

Although this is my favorite band.

  • @7duckydo7 ...what IS ska?

  • @fishfingerfillets personally ska is a happy almost apathetic feeling, not to be used in a negative way but playful and fun. Streetlight is great live and i have had the most fun ever watching them live but to me they are to real and serious to be in the general of a genre. although i will say that it really doesnt matter what the hell they are, i now realize that if i could put a label on these guys then i would be able to label the feeling i get while listening to em. i love the uncertainty :)

  • @7duckydo7 'happy almost apathetic' is an oxymoron.

  • @fishfingerfillets ska is a sub-genre of reggae, with faster beats. basically

  • @acere21 wrong. ska came ten years before reggae

  • @cowluv9 oh well, i always thought of it that way.

  • @acere21 Ska is a sub-genre of punk combining punk and brass instuments

  • @Blink182fan182182

no that's ska-punk. Ska eventually got it roots from the rythm-and-blues based in new orleans.

  • @AltCommunication I thought it came from reggae in Jamaica... O_O

  • @TheSecondDude1

Ska existed before reggae did but jamaicans invented Ska and they heard the rythm-and-blues by radio and developed their own sound based on that genre. at least that's what i'm thaught :)

  • @AltCommunication o i thought it was a combo of r and b and punk wow thanks

  • @AltCommunication .Ska comes from the sound off the played off - beat. Became big in England long before in the USA. There is a clear difference between the two aswell.

  • @FelixBrahh

    ska started in Jamaica.

  • @zero6gg I know. Review my comment.

  • @Blink182fan182182 LOL completely off.....listen to the band The Skatalites..... they started in the early 60's look at their name the "Ska"talites also listen to early early bob marley, the father of reggae started in a ska band

  • @sublime56 punk was around before The Ramones it wasnt defined until them most rock was above ground and undergound(punk ) then the underground split metal punk then punk and metal devided multiple times but its all based in the early underground or early punk it was all very experimantal

  • Well wow. This was an amazing, happy mistake.. Thank you, dodgy laptop mouse.

  • ....I'm strangely hypnotized by this. I'm usually more into things like Green Day or Zebrahead, so this is new to me, but wow.

  • @peachypreacher have you ever heard king for a day by green day? its kinda like this but a lot happier sounding.

  • @peachypreacher Welcome to the world of Streetlight Manifesto.

  • i love how the featured video is jake and amir right now

  • @uchicha7443 i love you.

  • duuuuuuuude. This issss sssoooooooo gooooooood! "yum" from stoned town! : )

  • sickest band ever

  • just got the lyrics to this song tattoo'd on my leg

  • A moment of silence, please, for those who never get the chance

They show up to the party, but they're never asked to dance

The losers, the liars, the bastards, the thieves

The cynicists, the pessimists, and those that don't believe in nothing

    I never met a loser that I didn't see eye-to-eye with, I declare

    I stare into your eyes

But you look right past me into the air

What's it like to stand in your shoes?

To have never felt the belt of somebody's abuse?

  • I want this played at every important event in my life, grad, wedding, funeral (then followed by The Big Sleep)

  • <3

  • how do you make tasty jams like this? i need to know

  • 21 people would rather have a moment of violence.

  • 21 people are so wrong and thick in the head...

  • When we die tonight... i will really miss this band...

i hope they take there instruments to heaven.

  • 343,642 Why is it only showing my views:)

  • 900th like win

  • The genius of it is the moment of silence before the chorus!

  • I was wondering what type of sax was being played at 3:36. If any one could tell me that would be great.

  • @TheJudgeF40 That would be a Tenor my good sir.

  • so cool...

  • streetlight manifesto is, like, soulful man

  • SKA IS THE MEANING OF LIFE AND THE SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM THAT EVER EXISTED AND EVER WILL

  • @uchiha7443 Wrong... Thats 42!

  • @uchiha7443 While i love the music. To the point that we had the whole line of people waiting to get into buch gardens humming it. I would have to say you are taking a big step past that and need to slow down lol.

  • @tilidin slow down? i'm just getting started X)

  • Ska is the most amazing type of music out there. It can make you cheer up on your darkest day, chill you out on your most stressful of days, and make you break into dance on your most chilled of days. It's great music- simple and pure. Just sit back and close your eyes and let the rhythms do the rest

  • I enjoy reading pointless arguments on youtube comments.. I guess people don't have much better things to do these days.. why not chill out, listen too some music, and just take it for what it is..

  • @angels56308 a long time ago there were horrible people, but youtube was created which allows these horrible people to speak to each other

  • @cheesefroggah Really? Only seven for this whole thing. I was expecting it to be much, MUCH higher than that. Heh. You learn something new everyday.

  • Too bad tomas kalnoky wasnt born in america... he would be the best president weve ever had

  • I love this song :D

  • 20 dislikes??? really??? fuck you dislikers!

  • @accionhero they're still catch 22 fans

  • Sometimes, I go off of Streetlight for a while and spend some time listening to the Toasters, the Aquabats, or Reel Big Fish, or any of like 40 other bands I like. Then, the second a Streetlight song comes up on my iPod, I get sucked right back into the music. Hell, it doesn't even always take hearing the opening to one of their songs, it could be me and one of my bandmates arguing over whether to do ska or metal for a song one of us has written, and I'm straight back into Streetlight.

  • the ska too tone music was born in england ! mestiska

  • @astengore lol 2tone was 2nd gen. the real ska started in jamiaca. in the 60's.

  • @blindfire7unloaded oh yes sir thank you. but already at this fact i howhever prefer the ska english gruop..

  • @blindfire7unloaded not even....WAY earlier

  • @blindfire7unloaded yes but i like so much the england way of sound of ska

  • This used to be the one Streetlight song I didn't like. Now it's my favorite =D.

  • 3:31 if you hate me so much than stop singing my songs!!!

  • @ethanizabunny Lol I hear they're on good terms now.

  • This song is so powerful, especially live. I saw them on Monday night and when they played this it was like the crowd all became one. I can't even describe it, it was beautiful.

  • @OpIvyUnity nice name =D

  • I love this song and its follow up, A Moment Of Violence.

On a side note, someone should go through this comment stream and count how many times each person that uses the word "epic" actually uses it in their comment and the total amount of times its used on here. O_O

  • @GlobeSpirit Its been used 7 times

  • This band has changed my life.

  • @cheyenneiam fucking tell me about it

  • @cheyenneiam My god, me too. I actualy HEARED this son on the radio and have been changed ever since

  • @iddtelyoubut It's incredible

  • feels so good.

  • This shit is sex to your hears when you have high quality head phones on and this shit on!

  • Leftover crack had this on the side bar thing? awesome i dig streetlight

    yumm yumm yumm

  • I live in Flagler Beach, Fl on beachside. and the school is more inland.and it's weird because it geographically breaks up the music. Us beachside kids listen to Punk Rock & Reggae with some knowing about Ska-punk once you go inland you get to the kids living in the suburbs who listen seemingly exclusively to pop/rap and you go a bit farther and you find the country/ghetto where they listen to country and rap. Then again it's been a few years since I was in school.

  • im a loser. im a failure. yeah i know. but i know this song gives me hope even when i shouldnt have any. such a fucking amazing song.

  • no words can explain the sheer awesomeness of this glorious song.

  • 19 people couldn't identify with losers, liars, bastards, thieves, cynisists, pessimists, and thievs.

  • Are they a Ska Band, Like all the Preppy kids at my school like them, but I listen to like fucking hardcore underground punk, any I love this song.

I like the cover they did of Linoleum too.

    NoFX is great.

  • @kingxskippy There's an interview where the lead singer was asked about them being a Ska Band. He said he didn't like classifications, they play what they feel like playing, not what a category says they should.

  • @kingxskippy preppy kids at ur school like ska? Queeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

  • @Gam3rGirlie

    Lol, I don't even care.

I love Punk, and that's all that matters

  • @Gam3rGirlie

And All the kids are into the Scene stuff.

I don't care for Sreamo, but I guess that's better than Fucking Waka Flocka Flame and Justin Bieber.

    Fucking Sheep lolol.

  • @kingxskippy nah just a little surprised seems like our schools are completely different lol

  • @kingxskippy why bring those fags into a streetlight manifesto vid?

  • Apparently Justin Bieber has 19 accounts...

  • @PatchworkParamedic Lookout...the Beiber police will come get you for that one...

  • Enough with the gay trolling shit- we've been cluttering up the comment space. Streetlight deserves nothing but good comment and critzism, if you have a problem with me there are other means to contact me besides this.

  • 19 people like Justin Beiber.

  • @danktrain420 you must be one of them.

  • @vusa69 wtf r u talking about? If I saw Justin Beiber walking down the street I'd squash him like a Mario Mushroom and collect my gold coins and go about my day. You must be a fan or something...sorry to anger you.

    Justin Beiber = Ear Bleeding

    Streetlight Manifesto = Ear Sex

  • @danktrain420 very well spoken.

  • @danktrain420 I don't like him. i just don't bother with him. he's not important. he doesn't bother me and i don't bother him. fag.

  • @vusa69 ...So since I make a comment with my opinions in it that is wrong and I am a fag. Comments are for just that...commenting, I am glad to see you adding to the other worthless garbage that clutters youtube. If you have a problem with me or anything I am saying you can contact me however you'd like, if simple debating can't settle our dispute... hell we can meet at Kyoshu Ju Jitsu in Atlanta and see how much of a fag I am.

If not plz cry urself to sleep and beat off with ur own tears...

  • @danktrain420 yes, you are a fag. not because you "comment your oppinion".. like a fag. but because you type loong faggy messages like a fag. don't be so full of yourself queer.
