Streetlight is great live and i have had the most fun ever watching them live but to me they are to real and serious to be in the general of a genre. although i will say that it really doesnt matter what the hell they are, i now realize that if i could put a label on these guys then i would be able to label the feeling i get while listening to em. i love the uncertainty :)

Sometimes, I go off of Streetlight for a while and spend some time listening to the Toasters, the Aquabats, or Reel Big Fish, or any of like 40 other bands I like. Then, the second a Streetlight song comes up on my iPod, I get sucked right back into the music. Hell, it doesn't even always take hearing the opening to one of their songs, it could be me and one of my bandmates arguing over whether to do ska or metal for a song one of us has written, and I'm straight back into Streetlight.

I live in Flagler Beach, Fl on beachside. and the school is more inland.and it's weird because it geographically breaks up the music. Us beachside kids listen to Punk Rock & Reggae with some knowing about Ska-punk once you go inland you get to the kids living in the suburbs who listen seemingly exclusively to pop/rap and you go a bit farther and you find the country/ghetto where they listen to country and rap.Then again it's been a few years since I was in school.
