Such a shame in those days they didnt perform surgical proccedures that they do in an instant nowadays. I wonder if his children are still alive. I wonder if his grandkids know of their very special grandfather.

Yes, Irving Thalberg was the original "Boy Wonder." He was a REAL genius in the true sense of the word. If it wasnt for him MGM would never have become the incredible studio it became and remained UNTIL the very late 40's. Him and L.B. were perfect together. The perfect creative force. He will always be sadly missed by the few people who know well the AMERICAN Cultural History.
