hopkins won... why? he had the cleaner work, he had the better defensive display, he controlled the pace and moved in and out when it suited him... winky was sloppy....

it's a hard fight to score, because you have to guys who pride themselves on defence - so there's no outstanding aggressive boxing....

winky was posturing by fighting on the front foot.... you couldn't favour him as a front runner because he didn't do much work.... he lost clearly.

I had Winky winning.....116-112. Hopkins did come on in 12th, but early and and middle rounds, Ronald was fluent where Hopkins was just running in low with his head and grabbing. Still, very close, and you could make a case for either fighter or a draw even. Too bad was never a rematch

Jab, Uppercut, Uppercut, Hook to body-Bob & Weave- Right Hook , Uppercut to Body.. thats what i think Winky needed to win this fight.. B-Hop came in charging his head constantly so that combination, plus a variation of, would've given Winky a better shot at stoppin those headbutts. I had it 116-112, but Bernard was lucky I wasn't the ref, because he would have lost a couple of points and eventually been DQed. He was using his head A LOT. I'm a big Bernard fan, and I got it, it's rough and ready here, but there are rules, and he was really crossing the line repeatedly. Winky, of course, is also at fault for not retaliating. He should have been throwing low and often.
