Yeah, Indonesian is taught in many schools in Australia now. I learned from a book mainly and I can get by over there quite well.

Yeah, I was speaking with an Aussie accent to say the english things and then part of that carried over to the Indo words and some of the indo words were OK. Whatever the case, I got by quite well with my indo skills over there. :)

I loved Padang. The best rendang sapi I had ever was at Pagi Sore.

I'm drooling! One of the best Padang style restaurants in all of Indo was in the plaza surrounding the Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh aptly named Rumah Makan Aceh Specifik. As the name suggests they specialized in Acehnese food which is heavy with seafood. Huge stone crabs cooked in lemongrass coconut curry brought to your table, a dizzying selection of fish, shrimp, and local dishes... gulai pliek u, ikan kayu.... yum!
