  • Vincent is, indeed, one of the nicest players in NHL history! Having met over seven hundred (and counting) NHL players myself, meeting Vincent was a real pleasure! He is very down-to-earth and giving to his fans. You don't get the impression that Vincent is pompous or feels he is entitled to anything. He's just a terrific person, and incredible player and a great role model!

  • @brianca1970 no one gives a shit

  • @thirdbreath Piss off, trol! You obviously DO "give a shit", or you wouldn't have bothered to post. Now get back under the bridge, asshole!

  • @brianca1970 no one gives a shit

  • @brianca1970 no one gives a shit

  • Vinny will never leave Tampa , he loves it here and will retire here along with Marty.

  • Thank you Panthers for trading this number 1 pick for Viktor Kozlov...bwahahaha!!!

  • Lecavalier to Montreal? Never happening. He has a 11-year 85 million dollar contract to his name, and the Habs are not going to waste that money, even if its to bring Vinny to Montreal. Look at Montreal's team. Price is signed to the end of next year, theyre gonna want to extend him. Plus he's not gonna come cheap. Same with Subban. Gomez and Gionta are making big bucks as well... Thumbs up if you want Lecavalier trade rumours put to rest already

  • aboce average player but I'll have him on my team anyday

  • best player in the draft pavel datsyuk Drafted 171 overal

  • Curious as to why Phil Esposito wasn't on stage, but stayed behind at the draft table. He should have made the announcement instead of Art Williams bumbling his way through it. Should have been the first sign that Phil was on his way out.

  • hes slowing down now not doing as good as he used to be

  • @BabbarKhalsaZindabad

    Blame Matt Cooke.

  • @lemonysnicket234 And if you had even half a brain or any form of knowledge of our area you'd know that our city economy is among the worst in the USA and that not everyone can make it out to the game. And besides, we stopped going in protest to get rid of those idiot owners we used to have. It worked miracles. So what's next? Another clever "you're moving" remark? Another "Vincent will leave"? Father Lightning Phil Esposito would to like have a few words with you. Dream on weakling.

  • @lemonysnicket234 With the change in ownership, coaching and GM the only place the Lightning are going is back to the top. I guess Vinny hates Tampa so much that he donated millions from his own pocket to a hospital and that he signed a life time deal. Keep ranting idiot, Lecavalier wants nothing to do with your fickle fanbase where you boo as soon as a player slumps. We love him regardless. You can cry later when you see #4 hanging from the rafters in the St. Pete Times Forum after he retires.

  • I would take Datsyuk number 1 in this draft. Anyone agree?

  • datsyuk > lecav now but datsyuk took much longer to develop

  • He has become a little more buffy since the days, specially his face !!

  • BUST!

  • Go BOLTS

he's had a cold year but he's has been picking it up since the begining of the season

  • @Reconstudios1 i get the feeling stamkos is filling the hole of brad richards quite nicely and lecavalier deserves a good teammate like him.

  • @1more4carhur true just imagine if Richards stayed though it would be the perfect team

  • agreed. 97 thornton and 98 lecavalier....wow the best back to back draft years !

  • 2004 and 2005 were, Ovechkin, Malkin, Crosby etc

  • the next year, 99, was the worst year: stefan to atlanta

  • all of the good players come from the QMJHL

  • no way man....vinny looks like such a baby there! *lol*

    he's is a great player

  • Vinny still looks the same

  • that's what i thought 2 when i first saw this

  • I never saw the '98 NHL entry draft when it was on cable TV, but, thanks to this video, I can see Vinny don the Lightning sweater jersey for the first time, and, thankfully, as of July 1st of this year, I'll be able to see him wear the Tampa Bay jersey for the rest of his career! GO VINNY & GO LIGHTNING, YEAH!!!

  • One of the best players in the league... and a true gentleman!

  • YES COME BACK TO WINNIPEG NHL! PLEASE!

  • if tampa is going to go to a canadian city it should be in Winnipeg no dout

  • amen to that

  • Vincent Lecavalier... SEXY boy

  • TAMPA LOVES VINNY!!!!

  • Vinny needs to go to Montreal

  • vinny doesnt need to go to fuckin montreal. stop living a fuckin pipe dream. hes a bolt for life

  • Vinny needs to go to Montreal

  • and whys that?

  • if he wants to win again he needs to go to montreal

  • and? hes not going to montreal, ever. hes a bolt for life

  • how is he a bolt for life give me that he isnt gonna retire there and he isnt gonna resign there so let me know how he is a bolt for life

  • ok, do u remember that he signed an 11 year contract extension with the lightning? when that contract is up, he will be 40 years old. most players retire around that time. and he has a no trade clause on his contract. he loves it here and never wants to leave here. hes done way too much here and hes a big part of the community. so dont tell me hes not gonna be a bolt for life. you just want him on your team but it will never happen in a million years.

  • he is not a bolt for life. Tampa Bay's hockey fan base is extremely low. The Franchise itself is probably going to change cities.

  • ok theyre not moving and arent even in jeapordy of being moved. the fan base has nothing to do with him being a bolt for life. you fucking montreal fans need to get your heads out of your asses because he is never leaving this team. and theres no way hes going to be traded. im tired of hearing stupid bullshit from jealous fans who think hes coming to their team. hes not going anywhere...

  • The Fan Base has everything to do with it. Do you think, "Vinny", as you guys call him, wants to stay in a city that wouldn't sell out an arena even if they won the cup? You guys care more about surfing than hockey itself. Vincent Lecavalier is a super star, and i bet he wants to belong to a city that realizes that. You may be a loyal fan, but the rest of city is not. Prediction: VINCENT changes teams in the years to come and the Tampa Bay Lightning change cities.

  • wow, ok. i dont think he cares if the fans sell out the arena or not. most players dont really care about the fan base as much as their play level. he loves it here and never plans to leave. the team will never move out of this city. and that surfing thing is just a stupid fuckin stereotype

  • You know what, I won't argue with you because there is obviously no point. Vincent Lecavalier will stay in Tampa Bay, under the sun, and he will live happily ever after...that's almost as likely as th sun falling into the earth right this second.

  • Then, we'll see if the inhabitants of your so called hockey city, realize the team's even gone.

  • bolts are gonna get knocked out of playoffs once more, and will be sold to a canadian city in the next 10 years.

    Haha Tampa, Haha.

  • Lol he looks the exact same 10 years later

  • Art Williams

  • 1998: 6,4 180 pounds

    2008: 6,4 220 pounds

    put on some muscels

  • Got a real cool last name...Lecavalier.

  • i hear that. apparently he doesnt know that we've got to bilingual down here to get any sort of service O_o

  • He's crazy fucking gorgeous.

  • true that

  • DAMN! Rimouski had some ugly ass uni's before!

  • One of my favorite Hockey Player of all time. Vincent is one of the best hockey player at this time, he already won a Stanley Cup and they will have a good team this year to compete again for the Cup.....

  • Comment removed

  • no shit.

  • Vinny now gets a chance to be on a team with number one pick, Steven Stamkos...since he knows what its like to go number one, Vinny can be a help to Stamkos.

  • how can you be pround to have the first overall pick, it only means your team sucked the preceding season

  • but with the first overall pick most of the time you get yourself a franchise player to re-build. and this turned out good because vinny also led them to the cup in'04.

  • 6'4 180 lbs?!?! thats all skin and bones. He's currently 6'4 220 lbs haha.

  • he looks so young and so diffrent

  • now he looks much better!

  • The HAIR! hahahaaaaaa the hair! So cute! Too bad I wasn't into Hockey until 2006.

  • First draft I ever went to.

  • still looks the same haha
